Yes, "Sacagawea's son, Jean Baptiste Charbonneau, had a restless and adventurous life. Known as the infant who, with his mother, accompanied the explorers to the Pacific Ocean and back, he had lifelong celebrity status." Clark enrolled Jean Baptiste at St. Louis Academy....which grew into St. Louis University High School. Phenomenal school in a superb location near Forest Park in midtown St. Louis along I-64.

We don't even have an official principal, the halls always smell disgusting due to the plumbing. The tables still have gross substances and crumbs from breakfast on them. I would not recommend success academy for anybody who has a learning disorder, mental illness/disorder. They're just trying to get you to go to the other high school which I personally believe to be unhelpful. There are thousands of students in that building and it's huge and easy to get lost in. If you are looking for a therapeutic school for your child do not pick Success Academy. Most staff are very friendly but that's about it. The food tastes like it is from the freezer.

Not sure which of my teachers are left, but look for Larry Hays and Shiela McCarthy. Both are outstanding. I must say that the last time I went back to see the school I got lost due to all of the renovations. When I started at this school, they still had some of the original buildings. I am definitely considering sending my children to this school.

The faculty was young and innovative in their teaching methods, which pushed me to think critically and be an individual regardless of peer disapproval. The facilities were unlike any other high school I have seen, clean, up to date, and just top-notch all around! The administration was a bit troublesome at times because I felt that the school was more of a corporation rather than a educating establishment. While attending I had many mixed feelings regarding the entire school but now that I am in college I feel that I was blessed and lucky to have been able to attend such a fine school. The people, however, were all the same. And when I say the same I mean the same upper-middle class kids who sport designer labels and conservative ideologies of their parents. Being the free-spirit I am, I found it extremely difficult to "fit in" one single group because of my liberal values. I felt that there was not enough diversity and many of the students tended to be extremely close minded because of that. All in all, the school is great (the parties were on par as well, Ha) and if you are able to take a tour of the buildings you will know exactly why I think so highly of the place.

I feel as though that should speak for itself. Most recently, I was covering the last performance of Tops in Blue. I am always so impressed with the appearance. Impeccably clean & well put together. They even have an overflow area for exceptionally large events. We just hook up our camera to their system and the people who couldn't fit in the auditorium are able to watch! Pretty nifty stuff. This place is definitely a step up from shooting in the Scott Club.

The Catholic School joke in my day went something like this. How many _____ girls/boys does it take to tap a keg. For Nerinx: One, she's an empowered woman, the rest are all out T.P.ing. Yep. that sums up my high school experience. I loved every second I spent at Nerinx Hall. I loved being at an all girls school, I loved the teachers, I loved the atmosphere and I loved the array of options I had for classes. Although Nerinx is Catholic, they never pushed a Catholic agenda on us, and in fact, they challenged us to think through rhetoric. I think that may be how I ended up the way I am today. The teachers were (for the most part at least) amazing. I always felt like I could confide in them if I needed to, they were challenging but not to an unmanageable extent, and to this day, some remain the best teachers I have ever had. I loved the array of classes I had to choose from at Nerinx as well. There clearly was core stuff I had to take, but my senior year, I took an amazing class called Innocence and Evil in Literature, I took an entire religion class in Death and Suffering (it sounds morbid, but I swear it was a great class), I took Astronomy, I took Anthropology, I took bowling as a gym class. Nerinx really offers a ton of different courses for being a small private school. It's really very impressive. Also, they have a ton of different things to get involved in. They have nearly every sport (everything from Softball to Racketball to Lacrosse), dozens of clubs (Model UN, Yearbook, a literary magazine, school newspaper), there's great drama, great music (everything from choir to jazz band), and at least 3 service trips every spring break. Seriously, so much stuff to do it's impossible not to be involved. Nerinx is known for empowering women. I am not sure how much of this is serious, but the characters that come out of that school surely prove that they are doing something right. Minus one star because even in my day the tuition was heinous, it has only gone up, and seriously, they ask me to donate money (and have been since I was a freshman in college) at least twice a year.
