I did a Google search and found Leslie Wilkes Photography. About three days later, I was in his one-on-one training session, learning more than I even thought possible for a four hour beginner's class. I now know how to use my camera and tips and tricks for taking great photos. I even received a binder of the course content, so not to forget anything. Leslie's class was well worth the time and money and I plan to take additional courses in the future.

I spent some time doing research on what camera I felt would fit me best along with researching photography basics such as aperture, shutter speed, lighting, editing, and ISO. Then I paid a pretty penny for a pretty neat DSLR Nikon. I spent more time trying to get comfortable with my camera and just getting a feel for the settings, buttons, and shooting with it. I took some decent images out in the park and around town. But I felt I could definitely use an in-person one-on-one tutorial on both my camera and photography basics/ best practices. Finding Leslie was truly the best thing that could have happened in my photography journey so far. It was super easy to pay and schedule a session with him online via his website. His communication prior to our meeting was super responsive, and let me tell you, I learned more in our 4 hour one-on-one than I did in the ENTIRE month on my own since I've had my camera. He was down to earth, easy to talk with, super encouraging, and his knowledge of photography is unmatched. His photography work also matches his knowledge, and it was refreshing to know that he still actively shoots as well. He even put together a workbook too that he goes over with you and you can take home as well. I love to read and study, so I really appreciated that. I'm a beginner, but I'm sure I will be contacting Leslie many times in the future for more advanced sessions as my photography and editing skills improve.

Looking through our wedding photos for the first time transported me back to those moments on that day even though it was weeks later in my living room. Carrie's artistry is perfection! She's so detailed oriented and every photo is absolutely incredible! The angles, the lighting, the posing, the backdrops, the candids, BAM, nailed it! I literally just shared our entire wedding album with my family and friends because everyone deserves to be touched by the joy Carrie and Ganer captured on our big day! Every photo is so authentic, and we couldn't be more thankful! Our wedding was held on my family's farm in Edmonton, KY. My family and I created our little wedding venue from scratch and Carrie and Ganer were able to capture EVERY DETAIL! When you spend so much time putting together your day, it's so important to have thoughtful, meaningful, BEAUTIFUL documentation of all the details and little moments most might miss. Along with this, my husband and I are really free-spirited, easy going, and family oriented, so it was extremely important that our wedding photos captured the essence of "us" on our big day. Carrie did the prep work necessary to make sure they were able to capture all the important parts of our day, big and small, and it means the world to us that we get to look back on them whenever we want! She took the time to get to know us as a couple and truly understand our vision for the day. I can't wait for more of our next big life events to happen for a lot of reasons, but also to have an excuse to work with Sur La Lune again! Even our guests were like, "wow they were everywhere and so freakin' kind!" - Kindness is important y'all! Thank you again Carrie and Ganer! I'm sorry this has taken me longer to write than I'd hoped (life, man)! I still owe you those bottles of wine and I can't wait to see you guys again!

And even though my family of four just did a 20-minute session with her -- and we are not usually a group who enjoys being photographed -- Carrie created such an easy-going and fun environment that everyone had a great time. On top of that, she got back our photos within a week, which was WAY quicker than I was expecting! Not just in timeliness but in correspondence and the photo shoot itself, it's clear Carrie cares about her clients and making comfort a big priority -- and the brilliant photography she produces was simply the cherry-on-top to our experience. Highly recommend!

Her energy makes anyone feel seen and known. I have the most magical photos from our shoot that are anything but pastel/basic. That's just not my jam. At the last moment. Perfect....what do we need....minister....check.....car and driver....check....photographer....let me defer to the soon to be wife on that one! So, wife to be does her research and gets good ground level intel and gives Amy at And How! a call. She saw her work and heard great things about her. Wednesday is the wedding day...and she was calling on MONDAY. (I wasn't lying when I said it was at the last moment). Even though Amy had a shoot booked for that day, she so kindly rearranged things a little and, BAM, we got ourselves a photographer. Wife to be had several ideas of locations, shots, and even examples of what she wanted. Amy loved all of that and there was a lot of back and forth between the two to come up with some great locations. On the big day, Amy was right on time and ready to go. We had a blast with her as we drove to a bunch of different locations throughout Nashville. She had some great ideas, and between her and my wife, we really ended up with a ton of amazing pictures. Honestly, after seeing what my wife wanted to duplicate and seeing what Amy actually shot, I thought that Amy's work was better time and time again. Amy was great to work with and actually made the entire process a lot of fun...which is no small task with me. I loved her and her creativity and the way she worked. Thanks Amy!!
