This was a huge disappointment. First time ordering, heard such good things. I got a chicken shwarma wrap with added lettuce and seasoned fries. No lettuce, no seasoning on the fries, including salt, and the fries were not even half way cooked. They were still hard in the middle and white on the outside. The shwarma was pure curry flavored, nothing else. If I'd wanted curry chicken I would have ordered it. We got a side of falafel, which was also barely fried and still soft, not crisp at all, and you guessed it, tasted like curry patties, not chickpeas. We ordered both types of baklava. The $6.99 Nutella baklava was 2- 1 inch squares. They forgot to include their "most popular" baklava in the order at all. It was too many things that tasted poorly or weren't even cooked properly to think there was a new cook. Plus forgotten items in the order. Overall it was a waste of money and we wouldn't recommend it to anyone. No one there seemed to care about quality control or accuracy.

This food was delicious. Highly recommend, hence the name of the restaurant , shawarma. I personally like the chicken plate with rice because it came with a little salad and some hummus. Brought all my friends here and would recommend anyone else to as well. Service was quick and the art was really pretty.

Service was horrible I asked for a cup for water because they have fountain drinks and the lady with extra lipstick taking my order said she does not have a cup for water I would have to buy a bottle - it's 100 degrees outside and like 90 degrees in the store it's so hot they have fans going which is loud and now they are playing their mucus even louder to cover the sound. They have flies flying around all over the place and the parking spaces are tiny and the parking lot is filthy looks like a landfill out here. Not a fan of this place already and I just placed my order let's see how the food is... they need to turn the AC on it feel like I'm in the Middle East it's actually hotter in the restaurant than it is outside. The chicken lacks flavor you need to drown it in sauce to power it down the flies don't even like the food they are staying away from it. Just tried the chicken without the sauce it's not edible it's gross lack flavor and is dry not good I will not be returning it's hot in here the staff is rude and the food needs sauce like a pool of it to power it down - shame on them - One guy came out and asked how was everything and was nice and offered me more sauce thank God for him... Ok he saves the day ... I think she told him I'm writing a review The sauce makes it better and if it has a little spice to it we would be ok. But just a little training if you have a restaurant and no AC offer free water cups

A.MAZ.ING!! Been here a few times, they use to be in PB but they got ran out of there, now they are in El Cajon. I will follow you guys wherever you go, THE BEST shawarma in all of SD!! You can't go wrong with the chicken or beef! Both are perfect along side their delicious pickled veggies! 10/10 food 10/10 service Never change!

Believe it or not, but this was our first time ever ordering from a Food truck and we didn't even realize it until we pulled up! Haha The food was so good and fresh- for once we didn't have to reheat it when we got home. I really enjoyed the Mr Sharma fried and Beef Shwarma wrap. We would definitely recommend!!

First of all there was only one server working and since they also accept online orders our small order took forever. 30 minutes. The food was NOT GOOD AND NOT FRESH. We were given the leftovers of meat and the pita bread was cold. It tasted More like bread. Also the hummus tasted like peanut butter. Overall our experience was distasteful and I would want them to have more staff on service so costumers aren't waiting too long for some fast food. Also there should be fresh meats and warm food served at all times. ( the outside seating area was also very dirty). NOT RECOMMENDED SAVE YOUR MONEY. read more

After speaking to the owner I have nothing but good things to say. We were able to clear up the issue as he was not present that night and was very understanding. The conversation was nothing but positive and on top of it all he provided me with a family platter as an apology. This place needs serious reconstructing with their customer service. Ordered food and 25+ minutes later come to check the status on food, the guy that took my order was stepping out and told the other 2 stooges my order was ready. The other 2 started taking orders for others, then started the food along with mine, even though I was the one that ordered before all the others. Waited there for another 10 or more minutes, got home, food was cold, went to the trash. Service here is garbage. read more

I ate here last night and the place is not all that i thought it was gonna be good because it has almost 5 stars but i was wrong after i ate half of the shawarma beef wrap like an hr or so my stomach started to feel weird well i was throwing up and got diarrhea Not the best combo!!! Tried both the falafel shawarma and the chicken shawarma. The falafel was DRY as all hell and absolutely flavorless. Not even edible. No point to even elaborate anymore as it's hands down the worst I've ever had. I make it a point to try falafel anywhere I go so this is really saying a lot. Went straight in the garbage where it belongs. The chicken was edible, but just not good. It taste like grease and it leaves a bad and long lasting aftertaste. I'm assuming they use chicken thighs given the texture and taste. Which I do like in particular dishes. But if you do not state this is the type of chicken you're using and just say chicken.. then people are not expecting it and it's not for everyone. No chance I'd ever order it again. The Nutella crepes were OK. Kinda hard to mess that one up. Probably was more disappointed with the rest of the meal that it just ruined dessert. Given the following.. it's safe to say I won't be eating at this place ever again. read more

Food was whatever but the service was terrible. The workers were extremely rude and got our entire order wrong. When we told them it was wrong, they told us that if we wanted to correct the order, we would have to repay them. My sister who is disabled didn't get to eat, even though she was extremely hungry because of this inconvenience and the staff didn't seem to care what so ever. This was the first time we had such a bad encounter with any restaurant , definitely will not be coming back here again, I don't recommend it. read more

I love Mr. Shawarma! My favorite is the Falafel Combo. Comes with awesome fry's. I make sure to get some of the garlic sauce. I usually wait about 15-20 mins. ALWAYS remember to bring cash. I used to go to Irvine just to eat a decent shawarma. But after this truck opened, not any more. Mr. Shawarma not only saved me gas & time, but also reminded me of Saudi Arabia by its authentic wraps that are made exactly as back home. Halal, cheap, and always fresh. Mr. Shawarma beholds the trinity of an ideal shawarma. Truly Mr. Shawarma's wraps are the best shawarmas in California. UPDATE: I would now be devastated if they moved this truck out of PB. I love it! About to eat here for the 3rd time in the last 4 days, so I think they deserve a review! Everything I've tried is good, and the prices are super reasonable. I thought I liked the chicken more than the beef the first time, and then the last 2 times I wasn't so sure when I rotated. The beef is good too! The falafel is probably the best falafel I've ever had. I'm excited to try all of the other sides too. Late night options are limited, and most are super greasy and unhealthy. No grease here! My skin is sensitive too, and most of the late options I love make me break out. I'm at the gym right now at 11pm and this is a no-brainer! I'm not cooking shit read more

This is a great food truck. I've had quite a few items on the menu and they are excellent. I had the Habibi burger last night and man was it good. Very large, great flavor (and I am not known to like lamb) and the fries were excellent. The Shawarma salad or wrap are great also. I like the food quality and value proposition of the prices. It's a nice atmosphere and vibe. Relax, it may take a few minutes to get your order but it's fresh and hot. So enjoy. Highly recommend Mr Shawarma. read more

I think this place was great. It was a good truck but the food was superb. Me and my wife went there on a Sunday night at 9pm and they were done with everything. They had to close for 1hr to restock. The guy and the female was super nice and they were able to make me a chicken sandwich and a salad. I loved it. The chicken was succulent and the salad had a nice tart to taste. I definitely recommend this place and me and my wife is sure to revisit this place. read more

Omg I just ate something amazing! I'll jump right to the food first which I ordered a 1/2Ib Habibi Burger (Arabic for "my Love", possibly "Made w/ Love" in this context) w/ cheese, grilled medium well-done. It was a giant juicy delicious burger with a Middle-Eastern twang on the flavor. It's definitely a burger you should eat right away, on the spot. The flavor was some type of all-spice/cumin & tasted phenomenal but you have to like lamb too bc it's in there. I also ordered the fries that were remarkably crisp and I think some homemade batter is what gives it that characteristic. Fries easily beats In & Out, Five guys etc. I give it one less star for a couple reasons. When I asked what the mr shawarma special drink is, mr shawarma told me he couldn't sell drinks but this still left my question answered & I just wanted to know what it was! I also asked for a side of mayo but he responded by saying he already put mayo in the burger. At that point I decided not to fight it although I wanted a side of mayo for my French fries...Lastly, Mr. Shawarma needs to hire some people because he was a one man show tonight and that left him swamped multitasking and that delayed our orders. I hope he's ready, because I'm sure with how tasty & generous his food is, it's about to blow up with a line of customers. Also, I know it's probably against his religion but bacon would taste so mouth watering delicious on that burger... All & all, the food is so good I can complain all I want about the other things but I'll still be coming back for sure, his food has an addictive factor. read more

I'm a chemical engineer, I graduated from UCSD in 2018 and started this food truck to be the first shawarma food truck in San Diego. The main goal for me is to serve the original middle eastern style of the Shawarma and Falafel. This will be one of many Mr. Shawarma trucks in Southern California soon

These guys are horrible. I ordered on the phone about a week ago, they told me 45 minutes, i showed up and it took an extra 45 minutes to get my food. The food was decent so i just called back right now to make an order and told the guy can you give me an exact time because this is what happened last time. The guy on the phone argued with me and told me its impossible and pretty much told me im a liar. I told him it did happen but its okay and he argued with me and told me "do you want the food or no?" Last 3 times I've come here have been far from what the place usually is. I don't know what's going on but the change is about to make me stop coming. my wraps are cold and falling apart, I pay about 9 bucks for add ons that I haven't gotten 3x times in a row which is now $22 I've paid them to not get the food I've paid to have included. We drove to SD and we found a lot of options, we tried most of them but we didn't find the real taste of Arabic food till we ate at Mr.Shawarma. He has one of the best Shawarma and burger in SD.
