We have used this business 4 times prior to our last experience, which was terrible. I should preface this by saying that this company leaves a big fan to dry the area, and they ask you to drive to post falls after and drop it off. On 2 occasions, we stuck the fan in the garage and forgot about it. Honestly, we just didn't even know we had it still and when we realized we called them right away and took it back. I don't understand how it is our responsibility to return it, rather than theirs to retrieve it? I've never seen that with a carpet cleaning company. Anyhow...We called asking to get in last minute before school started, and they told us they could squeeze us in. When the day came, I was in the middle of vacuuming the carpets and moving furniture when the owner's son called to say they were coming early. I told him that I had to finishing prepping the area and that my kids were getting picked up so that wouldn't be possible, to which he said with attitude, "Uh, Ok?" I told him I'd hurry, and he said, "Lady, we are just trying to get our day done early." I was surprised how rude he was. As a business owner myself, I think communication is key to improving customer service, so I called the owner real quick to inform him what had just happened. He was immediately defensive, and said, "It's the weekend and he's trying to get done early, you don't get that?" I had no issue with him asking, I had issue with his response when I said he couldn't come early! Once the guys showed up, I asked if they had time to please do the walkway of the two bedrooms adjacent to the living room that was scheduled. I repeatedly said if they didn't have time that was ok, just to let me know. They did do those areas, and left the house in less than 40 minutes which is faster than I've ever seen them work. After they left, we noticed at least a dozen stains left. I called a week later to talk about the service we received and the owner was again extremely rude. He said, "Oh, your the people that wanted a lot extra done! We did the stairs?" I said, "No, was I charged for stairs? He just did two bedroom walkways and I paid for that." He said, "We would never charge for something we didn't do? What's wrong with you? You are quite the 'challenge' aren't you?" I was shocked. I said, "What does that mean? You said you did stairs, they weren't done, so I'm simply asking if we paid for that? How is that challenging? We have had great service by you and paid you over $1000 total so far, and this is the first time we've had issues with you and coincidentally the first time we've receive subpar cleaning. We've paid good money for the service to be done, and I kindly and quickly came to you to report our experience, and that makes me a 'Challenge'?" He said, "You kept our dryer, I should charge you for rental fees and I'm not! What do you want, lady?" I said, "I'm not sure if you've had a bad couple of weeks or what else is going on for you, but we've never had this kind of experience with you before and we thought we should let you know what happened and how we were treated and the attitude we got from your son. After speaking with you, I see where he gets it from. This is no way to do business, and I'll be happy to take my business elsewhere. As for the dryer, we forgot we had it. It is your responsibility to pick it up, and shouldn't be ours to return something you left. I don't understand where this attitude comes from but it isn't how to handle customer concerns." I have never given a negative review on Yelp or anywhere else, but I've since heard similar complaints from friends that received "attitude" from this company, so I want to warn consumers. I think if the owner didn't employ his sons, he may have been more receptive to hearing our issues and less defensive. I'm all for supporting local businesses and for employing family, but not if it gets in the way of providing fair and unbiased customer service. Again, we always had great service until we had a complaint, and then we were treated terribly and our carpets were not cleaned well. This is a company that is more concerned with making a good first impression, rather than a lasting impression... read more
