Replaced a lock cause it was quicker than rekeying it. Charged over $200 for 10 minutes. Gave me no notice to cross town to let them in. Made sure I knew what an inconvenience I was and how he needed to be shed of me to get to his real customers. But it worked, so if you can afford it, you get it. read more

I had a simple apartment door key that neither Home Depot nor Ace Hardware could make a working copy for, so I tried Mr. Key. I was initially hesitant about coming here because I couldn't find convenient times outside of my working hours when they were open. I needed 2 copies of this key and he even made one copy for me to test out before paying or making the other copy. His copy worked like a charm and I came back and requested another copy before paying for both. Since they're located near the middle of town, it shouldn't be too hard to get here from pretty much anywhere in Midland during your lunch break when they should be open. read more

I want to start off by saying the locksmith himself was FANTASTIC! Prompt, friendly...100% satisfied with the actual job itself. My issue stems from one employee in particular named Heather. I am a Realtor in Midland and had a listing with a Kwikset code deadbolt. The batteries were apparently too low to unlock this morning when the appraiser arrived at the property. The owners of the property have already left the area, and I was out of town. If the appraiser would have been unable to enter the home, our closing would have been delayed. I called this morning at 9:06am and explained the situation to Heather. The locksmith was next to her and said he could go immediately if someone was able to meet him since it was a vacant home. Awesome, I was sooo grateful. I let Heather know I would have an agent meet the locksmith. I proceeded to give Heather the name and phone number of the individual that would be meeting her and told them to call me if they had any questions. I asked if she needed my number and she said she had it in caller ID. I then, card in hand tried to give payment info to pay for the service ahead of time since I was not going to be the one meeting. Heather proceeded to tell me "oh no, we wont charge now, I'll charge you after the job is complete." OK great! So I call the person meeting the locksmith to notify her to go to the property immediately, let her know that payment had been taken care of and she wouldn't have to worry about it (since this isn't her transaction anyway, she was purely doing me a favor). After the job was complete at the property, the agent let the locksmith know that I had told her payment was taken care of already, she wasn't responsible for paying. I later get a phone call from this agent saying Heather called her and claimed that the she lied to the locksmith about payment being taken care of and that she needed payment immediately, continued to have an attitude even after the agent explained she was just meeting the locksmith and I had told her payment was arranged for the service already. Of course I was not a part of that conversation directly but the agent that was doing me a FAVOR felt completely attacked. She obviously got defensive in return and rightly so. I then, called Heather and asked why the other agent was called. She replied that it was the number she was given, which was true but at NO point should she ever have thought that person was financially responsible. I was the one that ordered the job, Heather knew I was calling someone just to meet the locksmith, and that I tried to pay her! I point blank asked her "Did I or did I not try to pay you before the job? Because the way it was relayed to me was that you suggested we were lying and trying to get out of payment?" to which she acknowledged I had tried to pay her. I paid for the job in full during that conversation (emailed receipt received at 10:00am) and we both acknowledged that some kind of miscommunication must have taken place. Shortly after, the agent called Heather to make sure everything was resolved since Heather had seemed so adamant about the situation. Heather continued to have an attitude with the agent going back and forth about a he said/ she said clear miscommunication. After that phone call, Heather called me to basically tattle on this agent thinking she was my employee (she's not, she's a self employed contractor, as am I), to which I replied "The small details don't matter. I am still trying to figure out why the other agent was ever called in the first place, especially knowing that I tried to pay you before the job and I was the one that ordered the call out." Heather's reply was that she did not have my number... then says "well I guess it was in caller ID." Mind you, she had just CALLED ME so clearly was able to find my number. I told her "what's done is done, y'all are paid, so we're good." The job itself that they were hired to do was great, but the experience working with Mr. Key was was completely ruined by this. The situation was handled in a completely unprofessional matter. This was all ridiculous.... and over a $100 job that they were paid in full for within 30 mins of the job being complete. read more

I'm new in town and ran by to get a lock re-keyed. I was in a hurry and only intended to drip it off. William was great, had it done in 5 minutes. No need for a 2nd trip. Service was courteous and FAST! I highly recommend this business. read more

I have had nothing but good luck with these guys - great service and attitude. I have to think the negative review was a fluke. I had a problem key fob they could not get to program, they listened to some advice I found on Youtube of all places and tried it. It worked, no charge to me and thanked me for the learning experience. read more

Walked in asked if I could get a copy of a key , they guy that attended me was very rude. His attitude stunk up the whole shop. He said they didn't make those keys I said ok no problem, do you by any chance know we're I would be able to get one or find anymore keys for this lock ,? He said what you got is what you get. In my head I was shocked by the response Not only did it not answer my question but the service this guy was providing was terrible I went to another key shop and they took care of me asap, with respect. These guys were terrible! They were rude from the beginning and got nothing but attitude after they missed several appointments. Eventually I asked whether they are going to come or I'll need to call someone else to get the service provided. To my complete shock, they said you'll have to find someone else. So I did lol. I called for my neighbor who had locked her baby, phone, and keys in the car. Mr. Key was out in just a few minutes, had the car unlocked in no time, and refused to take any payment. It doesn't get any better than that read more
