Sergio and his team worked diligently to complete the addition on schedule. He had to deal with Tahoe weather, a tight schedule and Tahoe challenges. He kept the project moving forward with cost effective solutions when we faced challenges. He also has an excellent reputation with the planning department and inspectors. Rob (the owner), who is a 3rd generation contractor, met us promptly after our initial inquiry. Not only was his project plan comprehensive and pricing competitive but we just got a really good "member of the family" vibe from him. It's such a leap of faith to trust someone with an asset like a house but we are so glad we took that leap with Rob. The project included flooring, every inch of electrical, modified interior framing, insulation, complete kitchen, complete master bath reconfiguration, half bath refresh, sheet rock, trim, painting and the occasional psychotherapy session when we encountered a few surprises along the way. Rob was patient, kind, thorough and had a crazy eye for detail. One of the things that really set him apart from other general contractors we've worked with in the past is the quality of subcontractors (electrical, plumbing, tile, etc) and how closely he manages those critical resources. If he says countertops are going in on a Thursday, they are going in on a Thursday. On one hand, the thought of going through another remodel gives me PTSD since I'm ready to just enjoy our home without making a dozen decisions per day for several months. But on the other hand, we are going to miss seeing him so often and will make him our first (and ONLY) call when it's time for the next project.

Rob worked patiently and creatively to make the best use of my space. Communication & updates - Since I couldn't always be on-site, Rob sent updates, pictures, and confirmations along the way to make sure he was executing exactly what I wanted. Professional & clean crew - His crews kept the worksite tidy, which I really appreciated. Goes above and beyond - He even worked to get one room finished early so I'd have a place to stay if I came up while the rest of the house was under construction. Things to Keep in Mind (True for Any Contractor): Some things go fast (demo, painting, etc.), while others take longer, depending on trades like plumbing and electrical. Delays happen due to material availability and scheduling different crews. The process has natural lulls - Some weeks, there was a lot happening at once, and other times things stalled a bit, partly because I was busy with work and kids and couldn't always stay on top of it. Rob was always responsive and transparent, keeping me in the loop at every step. Final Verdict: I highly recommend Alpine Builders if you're looking for a contractor in Tahoe. My house has been completely transformed, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome.
