I truly loved my recent experience at Mr.Gold Silver I went there today for a quick repair. My gold necklace had broke and I needed to wear it tonight for a dinner. I walked in and he came from a back room immediately once he heard me enter the store. He welcomed me with a greeting and a smile which is rare in LA. I showed him my necklace and asked him if he could repair... he said he could and to just give him a couple of hours. He asked my name and shook my hand made me feel really welcomed and I truly appreciated that. I back in a hour and a half and he had the necklace ready and I paid him and he showed me what was wrong with it and told me if anything ever happens to bring it there and he will repair it again! He was so courtesy and just simply a pleasure to work with. I will be returning for sure and I'm glad it is in my area so this is perfect for me. And the repair price was inexpensive as well for quality work. As I was leaving he thanked my for coming and told me to have fun at the dinner tonight with a smile again! Truly unreal experience but I'm grateful I found the place. You can't beat personal and professional experience. He's the best hands down !!! Happy customer over this way! read more

They are absolutely the best! My boyfriends watch was stopped working last year and it was gift to him from his grand father. I needed to get it fixed at last minute for a birthday present . My boyfriend's birthday was Friday and I had brought the watch in on a Wednesday. I was at the office They called me at work on Thursday and said it was ready. I was like yaa yaaa? Best place to go . Most of the bad reviews here are either druggies or losers who think they can get more for their stuff . I've been here multiple times because art is very honest . Recently Disabled, and Widowed I've been waiting for 4 yrs to go before a judge with all the specialist reports. I just can't lose my home!!!! I went here with my grandmas gold jewelry. I saw multiple positive reviews and thought since I was in the area, I'd swing by. When I got to the establishment the door was locked. I rang the door bell and a gentleman answered and invited me inside. He went through the jewelry I had and tested the metal. He was very quick to appraise the jewelry I brought. He ended up making four piles: 14 carat gold 14 carat gold rings with diamonds 10 carat gold Scrap metal that wasn't worth anything He weighed the piles on his scale which is located on the second shelf of his glass display. The scale is pointed away from customers so you can't see how much your metal weighed. He announced to the store that he'd give me $2000 for all of it. The customers in the store started commenting on the large amount of gold I had on the table. It made me feel uncomfortable. I asked him to help the customers next to me while I packed up the jewelry. The customers next to me were selling a silver chain to get money to fix the A/C on their car. He ended up paying them $20 for it and they left. I told the gentleman I felt uncomfortable and he assured me I was safe. I told him I was going to go get other estimates and stopped in because of his good yelp reviews. He said, "Go ahead. I'm sure I have the best price in town." I went to an antique shop about 8 miles away that advertised they buy estate jewelry. She offered me $3200 for the same pile of jewelry. I'm not sure why there was such a difference in estimates, but as a young female I felt scammed. I'm so glad I went and got a second opinion. read more

Honestly truth be told this guy is completely and utterly the biggest crook and the biggest scammer the biggest fraud I've ever met not take it I understand things happen and what not anyway this guy it's a proven fact whether you want to believe it or not he is completely under the table sometimes he doesn't even ask for ID when making a transaction he completely lied to me and told me that he doesn't do any buying or selling at his store that he solely fixes jewelry and that's it when he has a big sign outside that says We Buy Gold and Silver anyway he receives stolen property all the time melts him down with so there's no proof and there's no identification card needed so there's no way of there's no paper trail when I went back inside there to try to recover my stolen family heirlooms this man seems so compassionate and I was in tears begging him just to allow me to try to buy them back and he told me that they were not there and that he didn't know what I was talking about about a week later come to find out he was the one that my rings went to I went back and I I was screaming and yelling I couldn't believe it I was so an utterly hurt I was willing to give everything I had to get those back and that man straight lied to me he doesn't care about anything and not only that he will lowball you to the fullest .. shame on you art canvas for being a fraud not playing by the rules and obeying the law shame on you for not doing things by the book the way they're supposed to be it's because of people like you are City are world is so corrupt money hungry read more

My best friend and former landlord passed and I was placed in charge of liquidating his estate. It has been a long and exhausting process. This business was nearby and the website was very concise and simple. It was a Saturday afternoon and there was ample parking. The shop was clean, well lit and secure. I had some assorted jewelry, and the owner, Art greeted me when I walked in. I briefly explained the situation and he promptly took the pieces. He carefully examined each at his work table while we talked. Unfortunately, there was nothing of value for him to purchase, based on his needs. The process took 15 minutes You might think it unusual that I'm giving Mr. GoldSilver 5 stars. Let me explain: The shop was convenient, and I felt safe. Art was friendly but he wasted neither my time-- nor his. It's been no picnic disposing of my friend's belongings. He loved buying things, but he made some unwise purchases and tough to have that reinforced over and over. Art is a professional jeweler, and I am not. He keeps the emotions out of the transaction, which I appreciate. I did not feel insulted that I brought in jewelry items that have sentimental value but nothing else. That's the way it is. There are other avenues I can explore for selling, or donate or I can toss these things out and move on. That is why Mr. GoldSilver and Art get 5 stars from me. read more

I needed cash asap for an important bill that needed to be paid so I decided to sell my gold class ring. The guy that helped me was extremely helpful and honest. He offered to give me a certain amount for it and when he saw that I was a little disappointed he told me to shop around and then come back. Since I really didn't have the time to do that I decided to trust him and take what he offered me. There is something about him that inspired trust in me. I'm very glad that I did because I did a little research to find out how much other places would give for the same gram weight and they were all at least 20% less than what he gave me. Since then, I have returned to him about 15 times because I have a lot of old silver and he also buys silver! He offers the BEST prices for silver that one could ever hope to find. Most other places pay basically nothing for silver but he is absolutely fair in his prices and I don't feel like i have gone and thrown away my silver. I highly recommend this shop!! Great friendly Service!!! I finally got around to writing this review as I am not on yelp that much. I came here after visiting another gold buyer whom I decided not to do business with because it was located in some apartment building. Weird! The owner was very friendly and informative. While he was looking at my various gold pieces, he described to me how buying gold works. He gave me the daily prices and was very upfront about how much profit he was going to make. I didn't begrudge him this either. I was pretty happy with the price he paid and left with a smile. I would definitely return to this place as I felt I got a good deal. read more

This guy seemed pretty strait forward when appraising my watch. I waited for him to make an offer on it (already knowing what 2 pawn shops would pay) and he offered me 70$ more than either of the other shops and over 2 times the amount one of them offered. This didn't take but 5 minutes of my time to walk in, get an offer and leave the store. Overall I'm happy with Art's service and being able to walk out of there with the cash I needed so quickly was a bonus. I'm glad i drove the extra 10 miles to sell to this busienss. read more

Art is the man. Honest, and down to earth. I brought in some scrap silver that I took to my local jewelry stores in Thousand oaks and got LOW BALLED. I was visiting a friend out here in the valley, so I decided to check it out. And he offered double of what I got offered everywhere else and all he did was look at it. After calling nearly every gold buyer in L.A., i went into Mr. gold Silver to see Art. True to the guarantee he gave me over the phone, Art gave gave me more for my gold than the highest estimate that I received elsewhere. I couldn't be happier with what I received.
