Edward had to order the part for my less-than-2-year-old Kenmore dryer but was johnny-on-the-spot with install once the part came in. Reasonable prices, explained everything thoroughly and concisely. I wish I could give him more starts, but alas.. He far and away exceeded our expectations. Often times, communicating with contractors, etc can be like pulling teeth, but we experienced just the opposite with Edward. He's not pushy, assuming, or unreliable. Customers please beware - I would not recommend Mr. Fix it as an electrician! Maybe he is great for other work but just had to have a professional electrician come out and fix the mess he left. We hired him after researching his almost perfect yelp reviews for installing a few lights/fans. He installed wireless switches - which was was not entirely explained clearly. Had problems with them less than 6 months later and after calling him to discuss the problem - let's just say it was not the customer service I expect. We took a personal recommendation to have someone else look at it - had to redo the whole thing leaving the professional puzzled on why the heck it was installed like that in the first place. read more

My husband hired Mr Fix It to install two ceiling fans in our new home. Edward responded quickly to phone calls and arrived right on time for the installation appointment. One of the fans is an old-fashioned stained glass fixture which required different wiring and specialty light bulbs. There is a 10 ft ceiling in that room and we are seniors who don't want to risk falling off a ladder. We prefer to leave things to experts and Edward is definitely that. We had Edward out yesterday to repair a stuck ice machine. After calling another appliance repair place who wanted to make me wait 5 hours even though they were at our neighbors house I was happy Mr. Fix it was so eager to squeeze us in. While he was here he also fixed a ceiling fan and gave us quotes for a few other projects. While bidding one project he uncovered a loose screw in our sliding door. Edward was recommended to me by a neighbor to replace my fluorescent kitchen lights with LEDs. I am so glad I called him! We are very happy with his work. His prices are fair, he showed up on time (even a little early) and worked quickly and efficiently with very little intrusion. We have a couple high energy dogs, including an escape artist, so I always worry when someone comes over to do work. We were selling our house so we decided to hire Mr. Fixit for some minor repairs and touch up painting. Upon quoting they did warn us that the touch up paint may not look original or correct. When they started the touch painting anyone once they saw how it looked after one or two areas would have stopped and ask the customer to review before continuing throughout the entire home. Basically they ruined the look of all the painted walls in the home; we sold our home only after we had to give the buyer a 4,000 discount to repaint the entire house. Last week Mr. Fixit told our realtor that they would contact us, no phone call after one week and the job still is not complete based on the original quote. I feel like I spent $2,000 for Mr. Fixit to help us sell our home and they ended up cost me an additional $4,000. Very unhappy customer and still no phone call or response. read more

I highly recommend Edward, "Mr. Fix It," for your handyman needs. He did a number of projects for me, including: moving a light switch box, fixing broken wiring on outdoor lights, installing new light fixtures, installing a cat door, installing a ceiling fan and fixing several other broken things around the house. He is fastidious and has a great eye for how things should look. I found that to be particularly helpful as other people I'd consulted about installing additional lighting in my kitchen would say things like, "I'll install however many lights you want, wherever you want them." The problem is, that I have no clue how many lights are required to light a particular area. Edward knows. It's also just so nice to find a handyman who shows up when he says he will and completely cleans up after he's finished. He also does everything by the book in terms of knowing what the building code and state and local regulations require, and complying with them. Again, with other people, I'd ask questions about what the code required, and would get unsatisfactory answers.
