Avoid this company at all costs, I recently moved using them. They understaffed the job taking longer than normal and leading to sloppy packing, meaning items were damaged. They also packed incorrectly - taking things they'd been asked to leave. And even sent the wrong kind of vehicle! They even lost, or threw out, a box full of my stuff that was not designated as refuse. When contacted about this they simply deny everything and offer no compensation nor apology. Their communication was shockingly poor throughout, I had to constantly phone them, they lied over and over about getting back to me. Truly disgusting, awful company. Luckily I haven't yet noticed anything being stolen as some other users have mentioned. read more

DON'T USE MOVING HOME COMPANY! Was so impressed after the valuation and felt happy with my decision to go for this company to move me out of my rented London flat to my new home in Essex. 3 "Professional" removal men turned up and even after being warned that my sofas were wide and a bit of a squeeze to get through the hallway when we moved in, they managed to rip the wall paper all the way along two edges. My partner and his best mate (none of which work in removals) originally managed to get them in without a single scratch! The monthly rent for the flat is very high and the landlord understandably already had new tenants moving in the following week, so after advising her of the damage, she naturally wanted to get it done by her decorator as quickly as possible and had a quote for £825.00 to sort out the repair works. MOVING HOME COMPANY has rejected the claim because the works has already been carried out and the general lead time for claims of this nature is up to 3 months. Ask youself... If you are moving home, how likely are you to have up to 3 months access to the property you have vacated? Probably not very likely. Overall a disappointing and upsetting experience that has ended up costing me almost £2000.00 including the cost of the removal in the first place and all the talk about trust and professionalism in the initial valuation is all a load of rubbish. I cannot thank Moving Home Company enough! It was very stressful and a mammoth task to pack 10 years worth of our lives and move it to another house. They arrived on time as they had promised. We were wondering how long it may take and whether we will have to do several trips. To our amazement, the guys worked tirelessly and moved all the heavy and delicate loads into the two vans they had brought. They did a very neat job of dismantling our furniture and putting it back together in the new house. They handled all goods with the utmost care and by midday, they had arranged our furniture as per our wishes and finished the job, massively cutting our stress of moving into the new house. Awful. Never use these people. Criminal behaviour. They damaged our bed and dining room table and then refused to file the insurance claim until we had paid extra for a 20m walk from the entrance gate to the lift. This is against UK law, as was the extra charge they tried to levvy. And we'd tipped the guys very generously on the day, offered food, and helped life furniture off the van ourselves. The company then pretended not to receive our emails (what?), ignored legal advice we provided them. We've ended up paying £160 for insurance, £300+ for repairs and they're still demanding £160 extra for a short walk. Rude, officious, and all about the money. Given the actual removal men were on zero-hours contracts, so clearly don't receive any of this extra money. The worst company I've hired for any service like this. Never give this company your custom. read more

We moved a 2 bedroom flat to a house within 1 mile distance and it took the Moving Home Company over 8h to complete the job! it took 5 hrs to load the contents of the 2 bedroom flat (with no white goods) which is an unacceptably long time. This made us late to return the keys to the Estate Agent to give to our buyers. We were told that there would be cardboard wardrobes provided to put our clothes on hangers in but instead they were shoved into re-used boxes. We were also told that fragile objects would be wrapped in blankets but a large framed piece of art was handled carelessly, fell out of the truck and smashed. The broken glass ripped the paper. They had difficulty disassembling our IKEA bed (even though I had asked previously if they were experienced in doing this) and were gone for an hour to get a different screwdriver... Once the flat was emptied my wife told the crew that she was going to return the keys and that I was waiting at the new address for them. They said okay and did not indicate that there would be a delay however it took over an hr for them to get to the new address (it's a 5 minute drive!!) I called them to find out what had happened, and they told me they were having lunch!! Moving house is a stressful experience as it is but this firm made it even worse causing unnecessary delay and damage. We had to leave our young children longer than expected with baby sitters which was very upsetting for them (and more stressful for us) We only discovered the morning after while unpacking that the IKEA furniture have not been assembled properly and the sliding doors do not open properly. This is sloppy work. I dread to think how long it would have taken if I hadn't insisted on a bigger vehicle to do the move in one trip!! I have now complained to the Moving Home Company over 3 days ago and chased them this morning, but they simply are ignoring me. I would not recommend this company at all as they only seem interesting to get the cash in and do not deliver what was agreed and promised. Just had an assessment done with this company. Although I don't have control over my movers (my company is moving me and I'm required to get quotes from various movers) I would recommend them! Don Santchurn came to do the assessment of my furniture. Not only was he on time, but he was extremely professional and took the time to sit me down and communicate the process clearly. Moving is stressful and he encouraged me not to worry about some of my difficult ikea furniture. He was dressed in a smart suit- not like some of the thugs in track suits and trainers that have been showing up at my door. He had a great relatable personality and is EXACTLY the type of warm, friendly person you would want to invite into your home during the stressful time of moving. He explained different options of moving times/ days and packing/ not packing... I really hope my company allows me to use them regardless of the cost. It's nice to find a moving company that has such a great customer service rep. Highly recommend! read more

This company was taken on as local agent for a UAE company to (1) deliver, (2) unpack, (3) assemble and (4) remove the debris from my good. They did 1, then left. For one week I asked them to come finish the work. They didn't. So I continued to do it myself and asked them to reimburse me for that. They didn't. Three weeks on and they have not addressed the fact they did not finish the job, damaged some items and have not addressed two of my formal complaints (in breach of UK law). Not only that, they also delivered someone else's item to my house. I spent two weeks demanding they come and collect the item. They did not. Then I told them I would charge them for storage (just like they did to me). They ignored it for a week. Finally, they contact me because theyare ready and I asked them to arrange delivery if they have addressed my storage query and my other complaints. Lo and behold, I receive a call this morning accusing me of theft. Yes, after three weeks of me chasing them to get this item, they have concocted this story of me climbing into their van in the rain and stealing a bulky heavy package, all the while with their three man crew distracted I presume, an then spending two weeks asking them to come get it for free, before I insisted on reimbursement. They have threatened to call the police and file false police statements. So I called the police myself to find out if I "stole" this item and they said no. This is, by far, the worst moving company on the face of the planet. For the sake of a few pounds to reimburse me for work they failed to do, they are depriving another customer of their item (which they could have collected weeks ago with no drama) and now accuse another customer of stealing an item they delivered to me?! Do not use this company!!!!!!!! I would not even give them a 1 star. Being a single girl tackling a move on your own can be quite daunting, I did not want to rely on my friends so I decided to hire a company to take on my small move. After looking around and getting quotes the Moving Home Company came back with a very reasonable quote, and had been very helpful over the phone in answering all my questions. Once however, I had filled in all the paper work and paid the removal fee, all communication from them stopped, so much so that I had to contact them the day before my move to find out details for the move the next day. My move was scheduled on a Saturday and they gave me a time frame of between 8- 10 am. By 4:30pm I still had heard nothing from the company. They had not given me any contact details and when I rang the office number I just got the automated voice message. At this point I began to get very upset due the stress of the move and the fact that I started thinking that I had just been had by a fraudulent company. After waiting around in a packed up flat all day I decided to leave. A little while later I had a phone call from the removal men to say that they were at my flat. We rescheduled my move for the following weekend. This time they arrived 2 and half hours late. When they arrive the driver of the van was not wearing any form of uniform and had no shoes on! The team arrived with no tools for disassembling the furniture that needed to ... that was in the quote. So the driver went off with the van to go and purchase the tools that they required for the job. In the meantime the other two men who did not speak English, started to take my furniture out the flat and stored it on the pavement outside the block of flats in wait of the van. I was on my own for the move so I went to go and still with all my furniture to make sure that nothing got stolen. I asked the removal men not to try and move the sleeper couch until they had the tools to take the sleeper section out. They did not listen to me and whilst I was downstairs, they attempted to move the couch and in doing so caused damaged to the walls as they tried to bash and squeeze the couch through the doorways. When the driver got back I took him up to the flat to see the damaged that the men had caused and he turned around and blamed it on me and the fact that I did not get the furniture wrapped! They started to get very defensive and aggressive and as a single women on my own, I started to feel very uncomfortable and scared of being in the presence of these three strange men. The damaged that this company caused to my flat cost me £291 to get fixed! I have been waiting for 7 weeks now to hear back from the company to see if they would reimburse me for the incompetency of the men in their company. Today I heard back from them and they are only willing to give me £40 back as a "token of good will". I have had nothing but a stressful and bad experience dealing with this company, it has been me who has had to chase the company up for any form of information regarding my claim, in order for me to get the compensation that I think is just, for the incompetency and unprofessionalism of their company. I still cannot get over that a company can treat a customer in the way that they have treated me and I urge you to avoid them at all cost, unless you want to have a terrible moving experience like that one I had with The Moving Home Company. Totally oversold by the surveyor. Movers ill-equipped to complete quoted dismantling & assembly. needed constant help and supervision to ensure nothing was broken. Worked hard & polite, but totally inexperienced and unprepared for the job. Specialist packaging that was described also didn't exist. read more

If there was zero stars, they would have it. In short, here is the summary 1. They lost our most valuable items (over £20,000 to replace) 2. They claim they didnt, and had delivered them to us (which they did not) 3. They lied to the insurance company about delivering these items to us 4. The T&Cs (small print) of the insurance gave them the ability pay a minmial sum even once they were found to be in the wrong, and as yet they have not even done this. 5. Instead, the forced me by extortion to pay their storage bills even afyer they lost items of much greater value, by threatening to sell items at auction to cover bills if I didnt pay 6. They have taken over 6 months to deal with my claim 7. They still have items in storage, and so I am certain there will be more issues when these are returned. 8. Thier filing and information (cataloguing of items) is the worst I have ever seen, and it is impossible to tall what they have in storage without a visit to site and a full unpack (which they asked me to do in order to find the missing items. After this visit, and once the items were not found, they charged me for the visit and unpacking. However cheap they are, or whatever they claim about this complaint, I beg you not to use them. You will lose you most valuable items To top it all, the have never once apoligised, and continue to act as if I am in the wrong. Please forward to anyone you know.
