Traveling through Idaho on I-84 our Ford F-350 diesel truck experienced severe problems and we had it towed to the Ford dealership in Mountain Home. We had phoned the dealership prior to the tow truck arriving and found them very friendly and willing to resolve our problem. The very next work day I went to the service advisors and found them to be very professional and friendly. Traveling outside of our home area and having to seek automotive help is scary as you don't know if the repair facility is honest and will not take advantage of your situation. This was not the case with Mountain Home Auto Ranch, I very quickly realized that these folks were HONEST and TRUSTWORTHY. There was no monkey-business whatsoever. They told me they would start working on my truck right away and they did just that. By mid-afternoon I had my truck back in 100% working order at a very fair and reasonable cost. If I lived in this area would gladly take any of my vehicles to this place for service. read more

Ordering parts, easy. Service?! Forget it. Picked up some parts I ordered and girl at the phone was busy, I get it. Walked over to Service and as I was waiting for service staff to get off the phone, they did, didn't acknowledge I was waiting to see what I needed and continued to get back in the phone. Walked back to front desk and told the girl they didn't acknowledge me and replied with "they're on the phone". Ok, so we just don't acknowledge people and align with the customer? Found parts dept to pick up order and the guy at parts noticed something was wrong. I didn't mention the rude service. GO TO BOISE!! It's prob be worth the drive. read more

I would not recommend this dealership. My parents and I purchased a used Ford F-150 after being told it had been inspected and had no major issues. During the test drive, an ignition system component failed and the truck had to be repaired before we could take delivery. We decided to give the dealership a second chance and completed the purchase. About a week later, the check engine light came on for a catalytic converter issue. We had the truck inspected by another Ford dealership, which found sheared exhaust manifold studs and a skid plate that had been secured with zip ties. These were obvious issues that should have been caught during an inspection. Overall, we are very disappointed with the condition of the vehicle and the dealership's inspection process. read more

Unfortunately I have to write another bad review. I don't like having to do these but here we go again. My first experience was good. I bought a 2025 Ram 1500 from them. They seemed very helpful and courteous. After two months with the truck, I had to take the truck in four times for different problems. One that is a big problem. The shifter/transmission gets stuck in reverse. Meaning, the truck will get stuck in the middle of the road. As this is intermittent, it can't be replicated and fixed. Rear windows don't roll up all the way, can't be fixed. There are others. They gave us a complimentary detail for having to come over so many times. As I can pick up the truck, there were swirl marks in my "new" paint. Someone had scratched up my paint on this truck. So we decide we need to get out of it and into something else. Getting into this truck was ruined our credit. They ran our credit so many times, our score dropped. We had to give up one of our other trucks, so again our score dropped. Otherwise we have great credit. After complaining to them and sharing our disappointment in the truck, they stopped being nice. They blew us off one day, lied to us, and blew us off the next day. They didn't want to try and work with us. Like: we'll give you an appraisal on the truck in the morning, we'll send you out a credit report, and we can do this all from home. Come the next day, we heard nothing. I had to call for the help. They call us back and blow us off again. They didn't try at all. They sold us a lemon and won't take responsibility for it. We tried to share our problems and work with them. This was hands down the worst service and experience I've received. I would highly recommend you don't buy from them. If they reply to this review and say they worked with us, don't believe them. Its all lies. read more

After 3 trips to Mountain Home, the salesman and even a person from the service department couldn't help set up our new Lincoln's features and app. After the third trip and realizing their incompetence, we called Lincoln directly and they told us that the dealer had inputted all of the wrong information for our account. The Salesman had NO clue about some of the features our car has and was absolutely no help at all. My 8 year old could figure out more than the salesman!! We will not be back and will be going to Lithia for any service or repairs needed on our car. The salesman also wrote down the wrong payoff amount for our trade in and they blamed it on us, but we have it in writing showing the pay-off amount They refuse to take any liability and have treated us like we are criminals. These people need to be put out of business! I have no idea how they go to sleep at night knowing they've put people in to unsafe vehicles. They even admitted to us several times that it's unsafe to drive our truck how we have been! For those of you wondering if we looked at it, test drove it, etc before buying - Yes to all the above! We don't know much about suspension, so we trusted that they were being honest, as they should. The air bag suspension service message came on while we were test driving it. Jeff, the sales manager assured us that the suspension wouldn't be an issue. He took it to his service manager, Heath, to give it another look, and he too assured us we would have zero issues. This is the FOURTH vehicle from them that we looked at that had an issue. First one blew up on us on the interstate. Second one broke down on us (the loaner) while we were out of town, 3rd one the seatbelt was broken, and now this one. We DID NOT sign an "as is" or mechanic special on this truck! They gave us a warranty because we didn't trust them after the last 3 vehicles mentioned above. At this point they had our jeep as a trade in. We should have fought to get it back, and should have gone elsewhere. The GM, Brad, doesn't want to take accountability for the unsafe vehicles he's putting his customers in, and truthfully, Todd and Paula McCurry should be absolutely ashamed of the business they own and operate. How are you "Doing Business a Better Way" when all you're doing is lying to your customers, letting them drive off your lot with unsafe vehicles, and then doing NOTHING for them when an issue arises? Yes, they offered money to help us with the repair after the THIRD time it went in within 2 months to get "diagnosed," but that money would have only covered a quarter of the cost to fix it. They also quoted us on something that is impossible to do on our truck, which tells me that they NEVER looked and diagnosed the issue any of the times it was in! We even had a wheel bearing go out on us while we were out of town for a funeral (which should have been caught when it was in for servicing 2 weeks prior). It also overheated on our way to camp - coolant was EMPTY...they didn't top off fluids during the service. Did they even do the service on it? The only way we could use the money they offered up for repairs was if we got the work done through them. NOPE! I wouldn't trust these guys with ANY service after everything we've experienced. read more

DO NOT go to Mountain Home Auto Ranch for service!! I called for an appointment, two weeks out. Drop off my car for service, after a week, they STILL haven't even looked at it!! NOW They say that they are back up, and I have to wait TWO WEEKS after my appointment to get seen!! That the scheduled appointment is only to get put on the queue, NOT for service!! In the meantime, it is just sitting out frond getting door banged and they left it unlocked when they put their service number un the window, so I don't even know what could have been taken out of my car while it sits there waiting for them to have time to look at it!!! Spent 32k on a truck and received 2 free oil changes with purchase. Schedule the 2nd oil change, as we live 45 mins away. Get there and the service agent was extremely rude and said we would have to wait an hour. We ask why as we set an appointment, she then responds very loudly ITS NOT MY PROBLEM. Ok we will reschedule. We do and arrive before our appointment, again meet with the same horrible attitude as before from Tina Nelson. We hand her our oil change card and she walks away with out saying anything. So we wait at her counter. She comes back and very loudly again yells WE DON"T NEED YOUR BUSINESS, YOU CAN LEAVE AND NEVER COME BACK, We both just stood here for a min as we wen't sure what just happen. She continues to yell at us until we leave. My bf and I went in to get him a new truck with limited funds and was told all he needs is a co-signer for a 2005 truck he needs for work since his was wrecked. He went in with HALF DOWN AND A CO-SIGNER yet the dealership still wouldn't sell him the EXACT truck he wanted and needs. They seem to specialize in deceptive business practices (sticker prices on windows are actually discounts that only apply to few) and when asked, they justify it by saying that 'we'll everybody does it'. They will do or say just about anything to get you to drive out to the lot at which point the prices miraculously change (the quoted range for our trade was slashed by thousands and the price of the new truck surprisingly went up!). STAY AWAY! Just take a look at there BBB ratings! It went from an "F" to "no rating" Unfortunately, before I really knew anyone here to tell me to stay away from these people I bought a truck from them. The next morning it wouldn't start, and I had to get it towed at my expense because they had so many sneaky wordings in the expensive warranty I purchased through them, that it didn't actually cover anything. ...$300 to "fix" it. Next morning, wouldn't start ...towed it and got charged another $300 for them to "fix" it. Next morning, wouldn't start again. I got it towed there and I told them I didn't want it back till they actually fixed it. Five days go by, and I call and they say they haven't touched it yet. So I immediately drive up there and tell them I want my keys and was going to get it towed somewhere else. They told me they wanted $300 or I couldn't have the keys!!!! I had to contact my First Sargent, and the better business bureau and almost got the police involved. After all that, I take my motorcycle to them. I know, stupid move. (I had been told the motorcycle/atv department wasn't bad though) Anyways, I had told them I didn't want them to touch it until the mechanic contacted me as he wasn't around to talk to. A week later, the clerk finally calls me saying they had diagnosed the issue as a bad computer chip, and my bill came to $350, (the mechanic never called and talked to me. Also, it's a '95 virago and there are no "computer chips".) Furious, I go up there and walk right into the shop and find the mechanic and ask him what all he's done to the bike. He claimed to know nothing about the computer chip but he said he fiddled with the idle screw. When I told the lady at the front that I went back there and talked directly to the mechanic, she said "take your keys" and threw them at me. They also dented the left side of my tank and claimed that it was there before. read more

They did refund me my money once I noticed the charge, which they are legally required to do. The manager was nice to give me a couple freebies, but did not make good on the car washes he promised. Was looking for a very specific truck and found that this dealership had one on order and it was arriving soon. A few California dealers also had something similar, but they were all being greedy and marking them up $5K to $10K. Called Mountain Home Auto Ranch and spoke to Luis in sales. He confirmed the truck was available so I put a deposit down on it, watiing for it to arrive. Yesterday it arrived, so I flew from CA to ID and took delivery of my new truck. Luis had all the paperwork ready to go when I arrived and Jeremy the sales manager went through all our paperwork in about 20 minutes. Luis helped us set up a few custom things on the truck and within an hour we were driving off. It was a seamless transaction, no high pressure sales, no games. A true hometown dealership that cares about customers and treats them with respect! You can't find this in CA anymore, it was a breath of fresh air to experience this again in Idaho! I've always been able to get a better price than the other dealers in Boise (I'm a Dodge guy), and the staff has been very friendly and gone out of their way to make it a positive experience. This dealership lacked Customer service skills. My husband a couple friends and I drive to go look at a Jeep we've been eyeing for awhile and a lady walks out looking at us like we're absolutely crazy. My husband and his friend walked over to look at the Jeep while me and his wife tried to throw away some trash we had in the car because we wanted to get it appraised. We asked said lady where we can throw our trash away and she just stares at us until she says with the most ATTITUDE "how can I help you?" So I told her my husband wants to look at a Jeep and he's already over there looking at it and we're just looking for a trash can and she's like, "you want to look at a Jeep with trash in it?" With the most snug look on her face. I'm like no I need to throw this away, my husband wants to look at a Jeep you are selling and she looks at the tiniest trash can that is already full and is like well there is one there and walks away. That right there ruined it for me and I knew we would not be buying a car from there. We end up having to put the trash back into our car and walk over to see the Jeep, she is over there as well and my husband asks "is this a firm price?" And she scoffs and is like "well they price them very well" and literally that's it and walks back inside. We all come to the conclusion that we aren't going to be helped and walk back to our car, my husband opens the door to their office looks at her and says "with your attitude you will never sell a car off this lot" I have never been so upset with a company in my life and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE! read more

I've been meaning to express my disservice with this place for a while now. First, they are decently priced, the Kia Sorento we bought has been good for us. In that, I would rate higher. However, I believe we were duped/scammed when we bought the car from the sales agent. We told the rep we would not accept the payment they were quoting us. They kept coming back with different numbers. Eventually they came back with a number of $298 per month, and then mentioned that we could add the extra warranty "if you add the warranty your payment would only go up by about 8-10 dollars". I thought, well that's not too bad. And we accepted it. We went through the paperwork and signed everything. Drove away in our new car. The next day I was reviewing the terms of the deal and realized what happened. The warranty was actually almost $4,000! The warranty actually increased our payment by $70 per month! Not the "8-10 dollars" we were told. Granted, it was my mistake to not fully read the breakdown of the deal. However I believe this was just gross manipulation. Had we known the warranty was THAT expensive, we NEVER would have agreed to it. He lied in quoting us a price of $298, he should have quoted us a price of around $238. I'm guessing the sales agent was to get an extra commission incentive, and used very poor integrity to get the deal done. He was sneaky, and for that reason we will NEVER go back to Mountain Home Auto Ranch! read more

Run far, far away as fast as you can! We drove 350 miles to purchase a Dodge Grand Caravan 2 weeks ago today. We had been assured that the van had gone through full inspection with no issues. My husband checked everything. Besides, the van came with a warranty which offered peace of mind. Less than 50 miles later, as we were driving to Boise for the night, the gas cap warning and check engine lights came on. Hoping it was just a cap issue we filled up and drive around waiting for it to reset. No such luck. They told us to bring the van in. They replaced the gas cap, reset the lights, and sent us on our way (without topping off our gas tank as promised for the inconvenience). We drove home. The next day the lights were back on but we were 350 miles away!!! The dealership said they would set up an appointment with our local Dodge dealership. 5 days, 2 emails, and several phone calls later we had an appointment scheduled for the following Monday. Our local dealership determined that the evap canister needed to be replaced. While doing their inspection they also noted that there was a significant transmission leak. They contacted Mountain Home Auto Ranch, sent pictures, and were told to just leave it as is. When they told me what was going on I contacted Auto Ranch. Several calls and emails later I was told it was just "normal seepage" and would not effect performance. I double checked with our local dealership who checked fluid levels and provided me with pictures. In 12 days, 3 spent in the shop, we had lost 1/2 quart of transmission fluid!!! After parking the van overnight in a clean area I checked the ground. Sure enough, there's a spot on the ground! Mountain Home Auto Ranch refuses to honor their warranty. They refuse to get a 2nd opinion before finalizing their decision. I've tried talking to them and finding middle ground. They don't care. Their lemon is off the lot and we have an expensive (warranty covered) repair to pay for after 2 weeks of ownership. The warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Do yourself a favor and run away before you get duped too. read more
