Since 2004 Mother Lode Septic has serviced our septic system and always been responsive in getting out quickly and on time. Mother Lode Septic used to send out a post card reminder when it was time to have your septic tank serviced and it was a good reminder but that is no longer available so if you need your tank serviced (pumped) you can call the office and the front desk can tell you the last service date and schedule your next service. Been happy with them and would recommend. read more

I called for an appointment and the phone was answered promptly. I was able to make an appointment to have my septic tank pumped approximately one week later. Nick arrived on time and was very personable and went right to work, was done very quickly and was very neat. He gave me good advice on my septic tank and also showed me that the two tank covers (plastic) had slight cracks (most likely from years of sun exposure) that could allow water into the tanks and they needed replacing. Another happy note regarding Mother Lode Septic. Our D box (that's the junction between septic tank and leach field) was bad and today was calendared for the replacement installation. Like clockwork yesterday we received a call confirming the morning appointment. Then first thing this morning Nick and Mike arrived and went right to work getting the old D box out and new one in. So often these days appointments are missed without even an apology follow-up. I had an emergency septic problem today and within an hour kick was at our house on top of it! Then he suggested having an electrician come look at our pump, breaker, and unit (I'm no electrician so the terms may be a little different). I agreed and before nick left he contacted a local electrician who was also out within an hour or 2. "Slim" was his name and he did an excellent job as well. Then nick came back after slim finished and closed up. Great pricing, stand up guy, and excellent work. We've had him help us twice in the past and we receive the same quality of service every time. Well, that was an awful experience. My septic is difficult to get to, so Mike, the owner/operator, went from pleasant, to not, quickly. Rather than bring in some digging equipment the same way, and with the same equipment, as our tree service, Mike insisted on traversing our neighbor's property, to which I declined. Well that was the end of that. It's his way or no way. So he billed me for a service call and inspection, which never happened. $290! For nothing! Geez, not a great way to run a business. Safe to say I will not use them in the future, and will advise others to do the same. read more

This is a family owned business with over 26 years of experience. Well we all know that many septic tanks are hard to get to. We called Mother Lode because the last time our tank was serviced it was by them. The son seemed to remember and probed and seemed ready to dig up the tank lid. He seemed to have a "can do" attitude Dad, not so much. He also didn't want to bring in their bob cat over our property, which though a little steep we have had a tree removal bob cat recently in to do work on it. Anyway, Dad got very rude and charged us the entire amount ($290) without having done ANYTHING! We even had our contractor come over who had been here the last time this was dug up, to confirm where the tank was. Bottom line, Mother Lode Septic just didn't want to do the work but they sure insisted on being paid! Don't call them! read more
