Always lovely food and have been excellently handling pick ups during lockdown. I would highly recommend!

I'd only rate this fish & chip shop average at best. I'd give them 5 stars on variety of food on offer with going beyond the typical cod & plaice to the more exotic squid, pollock, etc. However, where they fall short is in their cooking - I've eaten there many times in the past & it's always hit & miss. The major problem is too much batter & way over cooked. To me the batter should be not too much and cooked to a dark yellow / very light brown at most. Mother Hubbards fish is invariably a dark brown and very crunchy. I still eat there when I have to because there's nothing much better in the area. read more

Excellent fish and chips and big portions. Unless your really hungry don't get a large chips for a single person:) Prices and selection are very good and they have all the favorite add-ons; curry, mushy peas, gravy etc. Except at really busy times they don't keep much pre-cooked fish on hand so you have to wait a few minutes, but then it's piping hot and fresh. This is my favourite fish and chip shop in Swaffham. Reasonably priced fish and chips, to take away and also a restaurant upstairs again very keenly priced. The fish is good quality and the dhips are fried just rignt. Good friendly service too. read more

Can't comment on the fish as I just had the chips but they were crispy, chunky and golden brown. excellent!

Went in on way home last Wednesday at 16:55. Ordered Lg cod and chips, Med cod and chips, a battered sausage, peas and a curry sauce. £17.00 what a rip off. Chips all full of bits and large cod left over from lunch it was that hard. If I order the same at my local shop in Kings Lynn it is £11.50 and edible. Had good food there before but it was never this expensive. Be warned don`t go in to early or you will get the leftovers. read more
