Everything this place is a dump very unclean very rude staff. The bathroom was filthy. I can't believe they actually rent rooms in this condition. The toilet over flooded. We had to wait. Almost an hour to get a room change no compensation no apology. No nothing I would stay in a garbage can next to Walmart in the worst neighborhood in the world in Iraq Before it spend another night in this dump. If I could give 0 (zero) stars, I would. Other than the front desk staff being friendly and accommodating, the hotel was a mess. The hallway to our room was littered with trash. The DOOR to our room was open when we arrived immediately after check in with what looked like the contents of the bathroom garbage on the floor in front of the door. The sheets were questionable. The bathroom was unkempt, towels didn't seem like they had seen bleach before.... The outside of the building was also in disrepair. This motel is not safe or secure for you or your family. I was put into 2 different rooms where the front room doors wouldn't lock from the inside with the bolt lock. The second room they gave me the front door would not latch closed. You could literally push it back open which means anyone could walk into your room just at a push at the door. The windows also didn't lock at all. More amazingly with all this the staff and housekeeper were all aware of these conditions and still rented out the rooms to me. Wow! This place is really bad. They obviously only care about getting your money. I understand you get what you pay for but seriously. I'm not asking for luxury. I am just asking for a clean, safe, functioning room after working all day. I shouldn't have to repeatedly go to the front desk because the hotel has not done their job. 1) parking lot still not plowed two days after a heavy snow. I got stuck next to the lobby. 2) front desk was gross. Obviously they don't care about first impressions. Coffee dribbles and who knows what else. 3) walk ways not clear or salted. They were extremely icy. 4) exterior doors are not locked. Apparently safety is not their concern. 5) first light switch didn't turn on light. Don't know what it actually went to. 6) light over table area didn't work. They couldn't get it to work. 7) TV remote didn't work. The second remote they gave me (with batteries for me to install myself) didn't work. So another trip to front desk 8) bathroom light was flickering like a strobe light. Think about a disco club. So another trip to the front desk. 9) tub mat was already on the floor so does that mean it was already used ? 10) large tear in the vinyl floor. Just pretend it's not there. 11) tub had not been cleaned in a really long time 12) refrigerator was moldy 13) ice machine out of order 14) Wi-Fi out of order. I think they just didn't have free Wi-Fi. Neighboring Wi-Fi links were available. 15) landline phone not working. I think they legally are required to have a working phone in each room for emergencies 16) smoke burns in blanket No I don't want an automatic response asking for another chance on a future visit. The only thing good about this hotel was the location! Everything else was nasty, the sheets and towels were disgusting. I mean when you can hold up the sheets and see through them it's time to throw them OUT! And the towels were dirty looking, spotted up yellowish looking. We came, we saw, we left. My fiancé and I were traveling 19 hours home from a trip and booked this motel 6 for our stop to break up the drive. We arrived at the hotel at 1:00 am, exhausted from the 12 hours we had done the day prior. When we saw the condition of the hotel and the condition of the room, we decided we couldn't stay there and packed up what little items we had set down and left. We ended up driving the remaining 7 hours from there because the room was that nasty and everywhere else was sold out. Here is a list of the things we observed from this motel: -The hallways of the motel reeked of cat piss. The motel is (or from what I read from old reviews - was) pet friendly. It smells like the rooms may have complied different pet urine and were never cleaned or aired out. -The carpet in the hallways also looked like it may not have seen a vacuum yet this year (it's June). No exaggeration. There was so much crap and also garbage (lids from plastic cups) we saw on our way to the room. -The floor in our room was sticky. My shoes squelched when I walked across the floor because the floors had a layer of grime on them. Again, no exaggeration here, my shoes were not sticky at prior stops we were at. -The door didn't automatically swing close, which is fine... just have never seen elsewhere before. There was sign on the door that said "for your safety please dead bolt this door". Don't get me wrong, we do this at any hotel we stay at regardless, but I've never seen that direction posted like that before which made us weary. -The bed was not cleaned. The comforters had many marks on them, which could happen if the hotel is just not new, but when we pulled back the sheets the bottom sheet had cat hairs, crumbs, and other specs of something on them. My fiancé and I grew up with pets, so as gross at is we believe there could be a scenario where the sheets could have been washed and still had animal hair on them, but the crumbs would have stuck to the sheets, been thrown over a bed, and still loosely lay on top. There is no way those sheets were washed prior to us entering the room. -The TV turned on but it did not have sound. -Behind the toilet was a pile of hair and dust that look like it hadn't been cleaned in months. -The toilet had a layer of black grime around the rim. Not even the kind that stains a toilet, but the kind that could probably just be wiped away with a brush - it just wasn't cleaned. -All of the towels looked like they were never replaced, and had a yellow or brown tint to them. -The shower curtain and bath tub looks like it was stained with red nail polish or some other red dye. -The sink was not even wiped down, there was some other hair in it prior to us turning it on. Cannot stress this enough - do not stay at this hotel unless you are toting in a cot to sleep on above the floor and not touching any other room services. All of the positive reviews I read on here seem to be from 6-8 years prior. This hotel for whatever reason has taken a STRONG turn for the worse. I have stayed at clean, sufficient Motel 6 hotels before and been content but I'm not sure I will ever trust a stay at this name again. My fiancé and I decided not to try to get our money back from the stay - because we just wanted to GET OUT of there - but I am debating calling Motel 6 corporate to report this motel. We travel a lot and have stayed at some pretty low end hotels but this blew us out of the water. Just out of the kindness of my heart for humanity, I can't imagine any human being staying in a place this gross. read more

Very clean, comfortable and affordable. This Motel 6 was recently renovated. The rooms are very modern and spotlessly clean. Although the rooms are fairly basic in terms of amenities, the value more more than makes up for it. The bed was very comfortable and there was good insulation. The room cooled down very quickly and I could not hear any noise from outside throughout my stay. I must say that the room was very large, too. Plenty of empty space, even with a king sized bed in the room. No complaints here. This ranks as one of the best Motel 6 locations I have stayed at. The price is right and I highly recommended this location. read more

When I stayed here in June, the ice machines and the women's bathroom in the public area were out of order, but the room was okay. When I stayed last night, those same things had not been fixed, plus there was no hot water. The room was dirty. It had a dirty towel from a previous guest hanging in the bathroom ,and only 1 clean towel in the room. No face towels or wash clothes. The blanket had a burn hole, and the sheets were so thin that you could read the mattress tag through the sheet. The floor left your feet dirty and the t.v. and phone did not work. The smoke alarm was dismantled in the room. It was non operable in June also. That was brought to the managers attention then, but apparently he did not care. read more

Abandoned by Motel 6: I made a reservation a full week ahead of the trip. I called ahead when I was about an hour out to make sure that all was well, but the genius hired to work the night desk couldn't be bothered to answer the phone and even with 10 rings it didn't go to voicemail. Normally I'd redial to cover the case that I'd put in a wrong number, but Google recognized it as 'Motel 6 York NE' and labeled the call that way. This was a bad sign, but I had no choice but to drive on and hope for the best. When I got there a little after 10PM, the desk was vacant and dark and so it took a little while to get the clerk's attention. The reservation was completely immaterial to him and all that he would say was that there were "No rooms". He would do nothing and did nothing. Definitely not his problem. There had been no calls from Motel 6, no emails, no txts - zero attempt to contact me and give me time to clean up their screw-up. Even the hour lost to the clerk's failure to answer the phone would have helped considering all of the places that I drove by along I-80 without knowing that the reservation was garbage and Motel 6 had already abandoned me. I called corporate, and got pretty much the same except the woman that I ultimately spoke with seemed to be intent on wasting time that I absolutely did not have. Not her problem either. No, this was my problem - one that will be avoided in the future by never wasting time on Motel 6 again. Of course finding a room at the last minute - and without a laptop - is a royal PITA, but I had little choice since Motel 6 wouldn't honor their reservation, help me find another place, or in any way own their betrayal. read more

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The hallways are filthy, the bathroom has mold all around the tub and ceiling, only 2 pillows per bed for 2 people NOT...it smells of animal piss, no channels to choose from, linoleum floors, bed spreads are dirty. Save your money and sleep in a dumpster, I believe it would smell better and be cleaner. read more

Spent the night there on dec 3 there was still trash in the trash can. The bed was like trashed the springs were shot when you lay down the crack and crunch and you are laying on the plat form center of the bed was the only part to lay with out hurting. Heat barly worked tv almost fell off the wall when I bumped it and the room didn't even smell like it was ever cleaned. Coffee was ready in the morning! Beds were comfortable! Room was clean! I'm giving 4-stars because the room did not have a microwave and the fridge barely got cold. Other than that, I got exactly what I paid for which was a clean low cost place to rest and shower while driving East! The AC kept the room cold like I like it! They let my dog stay for free! There was WiFi access! The water was hot! Plenty of space to walk my dog. They gal behind the desk gave me a free razor to shave my face. No it doesn't compare to a $150 room, but for what I paid, I'm very happy! read more

Inclement weather forced us off the road at York. Needing a place to lay our heads and allow the fog to lift, we put in the call to M-6. Sure was nice to get in to a place that allows dogs! I was pleasantly surprised when my dog and I walked into our room. It was very spacious and looked as if it were recently renovated. A very modern looking Motel 6 if you asked me. The staff was helpful and kind. I love that pets stay free. It really helps keep the cost down for us dog lovers. Overall, the room was clean. I did have to handle some roach extermination that I wasn't too fond of. The fan in our room must have been a weak one because it took a long time for the room to cool down even on the highest setting. The bathtub in my room took FOREVER to drain so I ended up taking a shower/bath combo. All in all, it wasn't a terrible place to sleep for the price. read more

With the deal of 53$ for two queen beds, I feel bad for complaining. Don't get me wrong, it was worth that price, but only that. The room was modern enough, but the beds were terribly uncomfortable. They were not even mattresses but rather futons on each bed. Further, the towels in the shower were damp when we got there, which was very strange. Overall, if it's only for one night, I'd stay again for that price, but any long stay, I wouldn't recommend it. read more

Nope. I had planned to stay here but when I got here it was just too sketchy. My (average, not fancy) car would have been by far the best in the lot and some I was driving across the country I didn't feel safe leaving my stuff in it overnight. The room was very sparse, no art on the walls, the bed was cheap and uncomfortable, and the toilet hadn't been flushed all the way. That said, otherwise it looked clean so if you're not bothered by those things it would probably be fine. read more

This motel 6 is spartan at best. Clean enough but no carpet, no easy chair, no dresser, no Kleenex. Very basic. Pet friendly. TV is hard to hear because the speaker is back in the box they built to hold the tv. I'm not likely to stay here again. read more
