    Bathroom door.

Did you know that the name Motel 6 comes from their original 1950s room rate of $6 per night? You get what you pay for. Even today, it seems like $6 would still be a more appropriate price for what you get. It's a place to sleep and they allow dogs, and that's what we needed for visiting family in the area for Christmas. We weren't here that much. That said, I think the next time we are in the area, we will spend the money and stay in a better hotel. It's a bed and a bathroom and not much else. The bed is too small to fit both my wife and I. The shower was dirty and the valve that changes from bath to shower was broken. The TV remote channel change buttons did not work and the TV was stuck on one channel. The water from the sink was too hot and burned me when I was washing my hands after using the bathroom. The bathroom door, well, see for yourself. Like all Motel 6 locations, all of the room doors open to the outside. If that bothers you for security purposes, don't stay here. Southington seems like a pretty safe area and I did not feel unsafe here, but I understand the outdoor-facing rooms bother some people. Please do yourself a favor and stay somewhere better if you can afford to.

This is gross. Someone's hair stuck to the shower wall, and on the wrapper of the soap. Something brown on the wall. Weird stains on the bed. Covid precautions my arse! I just traveled by car clear across the country and this is by far the worst hotel room of this trip. Absolutely disgusting!

    Horrible non-flushing toilet.

Toilet had no lid on the back and didn't flush. Had to actually stick a finger in the back, into the water to lift the thing manually to get it to flush. Horrible, disgusting, unacceptable, and inconvenient. Went to home depot down the road and bought a tool to lift the flusher instead of sticking my finger in the water. No bed bugs, amazingly enough. But there were dead bugs in the corners of the room. The wood floor was so filthy, that if you wear white socks, they will turn black from filth. There was no remote for the TV in the room. Went to the front desk to get a remote. It didn't work. Had to manually turn the TV channels. Apparently 3 maids called in sick. Had a major clean towel shortage. Not a happy experience, will never ever return.

    Single Room: Simple, but adequate.

This Motel 6 was my home away from home for 4 evenings in mid May of 2015. Here are a few thoughts, categorically: Location: 4 out of 5 Quite convenient for a number of reasons: a short 30 minute drive from BDL airport; super easy on/easy off access from the interstate; and, retail shops, grocery stores, gas stations, liquor stores, and restaurants all within a 2 - 3 minute drive. Easy and free parking around the property is always a plus. Customer service: 4 out of 5 Yes, I get it. The people who work at Motel 6 aren't going to exhibit the same polished nature as someone who works at the 4 Seasons with white glove pinky up service. But, I found each of the managers and staff I encountered to be quite friendly and helpful. For example, on two of the days I was there, I just needed new towels, so when the housekeeping staff rolled around, they were quick to hand me new ones, and then when they saw me again just walking by, they asked if I needed anything else. For some reason, my key card 'expired' the first two consecutive days, and they were quick to recode it and make sure that I was in the system for the correct amount of days. There was also an afternoon where I locked myself out, and they were very gracious and resolved my self-imposed stupid tax quickly. Amenities: 3 out of 5 EXACTLY what you'd expect out of a Motel 6: Soap (but no shampoo/conditioner), a mix of scratchy and unscratchy towels that are sized a bit small for the average person (but fine for me since I'm small and squirrely), simple furniture, a mattress that is just a tad on the soft side, a flat screen decently sized TV with horrible picture quality from the antenna, and an adequate bathroom area. There's two ice machines in the same room as vending and guest laundry, AND throwback, gasp - there's a working payphone too! If you have a pooch, Motel 6 is pet friendly without a surcharge, and this location even had a little dog walk area with little potty bags. I'm not sure how the WiFi works, but from my understanding, there is a per diem charge on it. Most people these days have a data plan on their tablets/smartphones, but if you really need WiFi and don't want to pay the 2.99 fee per day, there's a Starbucks across the parking lot, and a Panera within a 5 minute drive. I had my smartphone and my usual mobile hotspot with me, and pulled 4G LTE consistently in the area. Value: 3.5 out of 5 Including all taxes and fees, my rate came out to 59$ a night over the 4 nights. Not cheap for what you actually get, but all things considered (location, amenities, etc.) not a horrible value either. Overall: 4 out of 5 Strong 3.5 + experience that rounds up. Would stay here again if I were in the area.

checkout time on signs is noon, and located on the doors in the motel. They forced us out at 11am, saying the signs were wrong

Plenty of parking the showerhead is very light. You still get clean, but it just doesn't feel very strong. There's more water coming out of the bottom tub piece than there is out of the shower at that's so funny. We couldn't get the TV to give us any channels or even Netflix it was weird so they really have nothing for the watch on TV unless you sign in with your own accounts which is kind of stupid takes you so long to find a regular channel great huge lobby little snack center, and we're about to go down to breakfast. something up with the girl at the counter last night she was kind of snooty when we checked in.

They have a Dunkin' Donuts in the same parking lot as the hotel which is extremely convenient. There is also a Starbucks directly across the street and several other stores within close proximity, like a Target and Longhorn Steakhouse about two blocks away. The interior of the hotel itself is nice enough, although some things appear a bit outdated, like the creaky elevator. I stayed on the 3rd floor and when walking down the hallway on the 3rd floor, the carpeted floor itself was extremely creaky to where you could hear me coming from all the way down the hall. The room was nice and the beds were comfortable but what I found odd was there is one master light switch which has to be flipped on, otherwise no lights will turn on in the entire room. I forgot about the master switch one night and could not figure out why the lights in the bathroom weren't turning on in the middle of the night. There is a small gym area and an indoor pool, both of which I did not use on this trip. 3/5 stars for a beautiful location with lots of trees surrounding it and a Dunkin' in the same parking lot. But the slightly outdated interior, creaky floors and unusual master light switch situation brings the rating down.

I stayed four nights in January. The exterior looked nice, but that was about it. Two of those nights were affected by marijuana and cigarette smoke coming through the bathroom vent. It was strong enough that I had to sleep with the window open, even though it was around 10°F outside. Reporting it did not resolve the issue. I also noted a strong marijuana odor near the first-floor elevator. Staff attempted to address it using baking soda powder, but the smell remained. Housekeeping was never provided in my room despite multiple requests. I was later told I had declined service, which is not accurate. Breakfast was also an issue--on two mornings, food ran out early and was not replenished. Overall, the property feels dated and not up to the standards I expect from Marriott. Costco did provide a partial refund after reviewing my complaint, which I appreciated. I would not stay here again.

Based on some pictures and reviews this place was it. I entered the lobby and was immediately impressed. My friend informed me they had recently renovated some areas and I'm assuming this was one. The front desk person didn't seem too happy being there but they helped us with checking in. Our room was nice and initially as advertised. One thing I was not too happy about was the desk chair so I refrained from using it. I slept well throughout the night although the pillows are a bit thin and only 3 per bed so one person only gets one if you're sharing. You can control the temperature of the room so we kept it on 71 throughout. I would not recommend the breakfast though. There were eggs, sausage, a pancake maker (this as pretty cool), yogurt, bread, cereal, oatmeal, and coffee. Nothing appealed to me besides the oatmeal but when I opened it up, it looked expired so I didn't attempt to eat it. I went with toast and butter instead and it was good. The half and half there was definitely spoiled as it turned the coffee sour and curd like and when we told the front desk person, they brought new ones out but same thing happened. Just be cautious with what you eat first. Check out was quick and easy. Tons of parking space and I really appreciated that their parking spots and very wide so less risk of someone hitting your car with their door. Overall, the quality equates to the price, if you're staying with 2+ people per room.

He'll, why would I stay in another of their hotels? At $400 for 3 nights I expect better.
