First off let me start by saying that this is Motel 6. It's a motel folks. If you want to stay in a 4-5 star hotel then you will pay the price. We live in Las Vegas and are visiting family here, but we enjoy our privacy, so we opted for this place. For those who are complaining about the men on the balcony...these are construction workers. They are here, more than likely, on a per diem. Some have their families with them. They are here rebuilding after Harvey. There is a beautiful brand new pool too. I didn't use it, but the water was warm to the touch and the children were having a splendid time. The gals cleaning the rooms were polite and accommodating. The GM was chatty and polite. I have to say that we were pleased and this is the nicest motel 6 I have ever stayed in. It's just enough. Our stay was 5 nights and we slept well. The bed is comfortable, which was surprising. We have a very expensive mattress at home, so I always expect discomfort, but I was quite cozy. We thought about staying in Corpus, but boy oh boy am I glad we didn't. Most of the hotels are trashed from Harvey and many businesses closed still, or indefinitely. This place is perfectly situated by all of the local shopping and beaches. It also has more than basic cable and Wi-Fi. We had a mini fridge, microwave, & coffee maker. If you are weary because, of the not so great reviews, don't be.

Hotel staff was nice and informative. This hotel is not far from Rockport Beach Park and the historic Fulton Mansion. The hotel offers a free hot daily breakfast and rooms with free Wi-Fi, an outdoor pool and a fitness center. Laundry facilities too. Our room was equipped with a microwave and mini-refrigerator, coffee maker and cable TV. The breakfast was good with choices of omelets, oatmeal, sausage and potatoes along with bagels, waffles, three different cereals and lots of different fruits. We enjoyed our stay in this nice clean hotel, and the location is great.

The room has been great and we loved it. I have the dogs in a stroller and attached to leashes so I can use the stroller for balance and support as well as access to the dogs for help. Saturday morning, around 7:15, the reception lady (which I found out the next day was the manager, Ginger) won't let me enter the breakfast area. She want me to leave the dogs outside in the hallway next to the bathroom. Which is making me have anxiety to be away from them. She told me to take turns with my husband to have the dogs there while we get food then go back to hallway to eat. I'm trying not to have an anxiety attack in being separated from my dogs in public. I was already in pain and was relying on the stroller to help with my balance. I wasn't going to take the dogs out of the stroller. I explained to her the dogs were trained and what they help me with in my disabilities and that I would not take them out of the stroller, which had service dogs signs all over it. In the food area, I had to keep leaning on my 9 year old son for balance because I was having trouble walking. But at one point, my body couldn't take it. I was in a lot of pain and it led to a cycle of pain and anxiety. I ended up with an anxiety attack and got frozen and was in so much pain because the stress caused my body to flare up badly. My husband told me while I was sitting down sobbing in pain, Ginger the manager went to him to apologize for the incident. It would have meant something if she directly came to me to apologize. Which is another incident of me feeling less than and treated less of a human being for being disabled. I should not have been denied access with my service dogs that were contained in a stroller that I also needed for balance.

Definitely false advertisement from Vrbo and staff. They were very quick to charge my card (Red Flag) I was upset I could not enjoy the beautiful view. Room number is at the end of this review. Chairs are full of rust (nothing like the pictures from Vrbo and staff at Laguna Reef) patio table was very dirty and rusty. The frame from sliding door was also rusty and kind of hard to pull, very dirty. The furniture from the living room are in poor poor condition. Coffee table was wobbly..it felt like it was going to fall apart. The Tv is mounted crooked (necks were hurting) the small table on the wall is also slanted not straight. Drinks were uneven..had to be very careful to not spill anything. The couch is filthy underneath, full of dust and dirt, rug is also dirty. Not good for anyone with allergies. Linen smelled like they have been dirty for a while. I had to buy a blanket and meds for allergies. Not very friendly from staff or locals. My husband and I took a walk on the pier (no rails) very dangerous for little ones. A person from the office walked all the way down to the pier to make sure we were guests. He asked if we were guests and for our room number. Hopefully it wasn't because of our skin color. I definitely will NOT go back. It's too bad, because the bay view is beautiful, but I despise false advertisement. I will not use VRBO or Laguna Reef ever AGAIN. Room#208

We had a bed with thin worn blanket, tv, mini fridge, microwave I wouldn't use, and a coffee pot. Floors dirty, grout has ground in dirt, tiny tube of bath wash, lotion, and small bar of soap. Prob clean but stained towels and sheets. Light switches broken, hole in ceiling, rusted old worn metal night stands and a small rusted table. Dark, bent/broken blinds, view of the parking lot if you can see out of it. The ac was freezing cold which was good, but loud as a semi. Absolutely unassuming place w only 16 units in a small U-shape, surrounded by partial fence with overgrown weeds. If all you need is a bed & shower, it's your spot, and you don't care much about either, it's adequate. Wouldn't bring kids or family. It's worth about $40-50/night and don't have any expectations. It is close to marina & bait shops if you just need a home base with AC while fishing all day.

The photos on the website do not look like the hotel. There was a hole in the wall with a napkin in it. I changed our trash bag and the bag left my hands black, possibly from dust. We heard scratching in the walls and ceiling at night/ early morning. There was stains on the shower curtain and on a towel. Everything was pretty rusted as well. So if you're thinking of staying here I highly recommend reading reviews and if you're okay with a place being/ feeling dirty then go for it. If you want to spend a little extra, or maybe even the same amount, definitely stay at another place.

Jordan at the front desk was super nice and helpful, the bed was comfortable, the rate per night of $170.00 was okay, the ground were clean, the pool looked clean, BUT... the rooms all have a blue tint that was so obnoxious and really messed with my eyes. It was truly awful! Even when the sun went down, it was still bothersome. The photos I took with my phone have absolutely no filter on them. It was Smurf blue!!! I wanted to ask for another room until I realized ALL windows had the same tint. I looked around the room after exposure to the blue and it made everything look pink. Way weird! I know it wasn't just us because we spoke with a lady in the elevator who made the same comments. I would never stay there again strictly for the blue and how it affected my eyes. I don't know who decided on that, but it was a terrible idea. We did not check out the inhouse bar since we brought drinks with us. We also did not have the breakfast. I am not a fan of hotel breakfast since it rarely lives up to expectations.
