Also, If you plan on flying out to an oil rig via helicopter, the heliport is only about a 15 minute drive away. Like all the other Holiday Inn Express I've been to, the rooms are clean and the beds are super comfortable! Service at this one was friendly and helpful. If you are thinking of booking a night at the regular Holiday Inn down the street, think again! This one is much newer and cleaner. The other Holiday Inn is very old and does not feel safe to walk out at night since the hallways are not lit up very well.

I am glad to be here because the price point was good too. I've been to a lot of hotels but this one is probably the most valued. They offer sugar cookies and coffee/tea upon check in even when it super late at night. They offer breakfast from 6am-11am which is an abundant of time to ensure you try out their biscuits and gravy. The orange juice wasn't even watered down and taste just like the ones you buy from the store. I also liked how the staff offered me a water and snack when I checked in due to my status with Hilton. Overall, I felt like this is the best hotel and I 100% recommend it.

THE BAD REVIEW So apparently the weekend that all hands on deck that there was one housekeeper. As I said my daughter had been sick. Upchucked in sheets, pillows, everything overnight. When we left I asked the manager on duty that we needed housekeeping service in our room. He told me that I can bring all of the towels and sheets down to the front desk and they will give me clean sheets. I told him that we were going out that we can do it when we got back. We got back at around 10pm and was told that the housekeeper quit. Although I know all about being short staffed, it is unacceptable to have to bring laundry down and bring it up. I am in the food and beverage industry and has been short staffed since COVID. To make sure that all hands on deck and roll up your own sleeves to get the job done. Their floors were filthy and the attitudes were obviously frustrating. We were pretty loyal customers to this location but NEVER again.

The front desk girl had a good sense of humor(we had a laugh) but she puts the auto doors on manual because of bugs(she said people complain) so the room, it seemed clean but when I pulled the sheets I saw a dried booger(I think) and the plumbing fixtures were old and low water pressure the toilet seat was in need of replacement...it is what it is...but if I had a choice I'd look for a better spot...

The room is a great size for one person. The bed is a full and the stove is electric. The neighbors seem to only be here for work so people constantly make noise complaints without being understanding. Not a place for kids in that sense. Even with the performance discount it's still $400 a week which is pretty expensive for an extended stay. It is a decent hotel but with how much they're charging they should upgrade a few things.

Thankfully they have a restaurant next door called "big Al's" & they do cook & serve authentic Cajun food for a lot cheaper & you can just call your order in, walk 10 minutes & pick up your to go order. The rooms are clean though, bout the best I can say. Also the staff has changed. I've stayed here a lot & when I booked in I didn't see no familiar friendly faces. The facility is older and very well kept, immaculately clean and very comfortable. That pool is beautiful at night with underwater lights. Close to Aldi and Walmart. Houma is such a nice town. I am tempted to leave New Orleans and move there. It was very quiet at the hotel. I just got home and feel more like I have come back from a vacation rather than a work trip. Thank you Ms. Jill and I will be back next time I have to come down to Houma for my work.
