Before you try to report a crime, read this: I was robbed while eating at a Tapas Bar. A woman crowded me and when I looked down, my purse was gone from the hook between my legs. We immediately went to the Mossos to report the crime. They said we needed the IMEI for my phone. We walked all the way back to the room we were staying in with a friend, up 8 US flights of stairs and back over 2 miles of city walking. They told us we also needed my passport. We repeated the process. When we returned, they accused us (both very sober but tired after the almost 4 hour ordeal) of being too drunk to report our crime. I shiver to think what would happen to a drunk woman who was raped in this city! I looked straight into a female cop's eyes and said (in Spanish) "We only want help." They responded by taking down my husband's ID number as if he was the criminal and told us to try again tomorrow. Before this incident, we even considered moving to Barcelona. I'm sorry to say that will never happen now. What a corrupt police force! I can't believe I ever liked the Mossos. read more
