I'm never really sure why pubs abroad feel they need to market themselves as Irish, anyway, I'll just put that down to one of life's little mysteries ;) The beer menus are pretty vast and expect to find an excellent selection of Italian artisan / craft beers and fantastic trappist beers from Belgium and Holland. Price wise, the beer's not cheap and the service can be a bit slow. However, the food is good and the beer is mighty fine and cold. Music can also be a bit lame, with generic music television channels blaring out the latest naff pop hits. Apart from the bad music, Molly's is a great place to quench your thirst and hang out for the night!

Anyway, I was flying out of the Lamezia Airport on Friday and needed to grab a bite before the flight to Rome (I realize it's not long, but when a man is hungry, he's hungry). Since this is a small airport the only option was Bontà Nostra Calabrian Excellence. This little cafe tucked against the back wall gives you the option to pick up one last pastry, pop, sandwich, or sweet treat before leaving the Calabria region. I ended up getting a pretty mediocre prosciutto sandwich with what looked like microwaved cheese (definitely not the highly of the sandwich). Once the sandwich was ordered it was toasted just a little to long so that when I ate it, it actually cut the top of my mouth a little bit. Overall, this is a tiny shop in an airport that gives you a basic menu with pretty basic food. If you need to grab a bite, this place has you covered, just don't have high hopes.
