I have had to use their service twice now with a company that was not just Harrassing, but aggressive and abusive. I took a couple of weeks and thought about it and decided I did not want to file a Chapter 13 ( nothing was filed with the court yet). The wage garnishment I was trying to avoid happened and I worked out with the court, a motion lower the garnishment myself and not through the Perlman firm. I decided I did not need to file bankruptcy any longer because I would just speak to my creditors and either get some things removed from my credit report or work out a plan that would be better than a 5 year Chapter 13 plan. I advised the Perlman firm of such and requested to get some of the monies I paid to the firm back. I did not expect to get the total amount back because I do understand they did put in some time and services. The fee I put down to begin my case was not cheap, especially when the whole point of filing bankruptcy is because I'm low on money. Well after receiving a letter in the mail from Mr. Perlman's firm, it states Im $600 short from the services they performed. Order credit report ( which I get for free), reviewing paperwork and prep. It's amazing to me especially when nothing was ever filed with the court and I'm the one that obtained all of this paperwork they're speaking about that they reviewed. *This is a warning because this firm helps you as long as you don't change your mind. Bankruptcy is a sensitive issue and is something to not take lightly. I was basically punished for changing my mind and I paid $2000 just for basic consultation. * Warning*, before getting involved with this firm, make sure your mind is totally made up before paying fees. I have no doubt that these Lawyers are knowledgeable in Bankruptcy law but I also feel they will take advantage of someone in a dire situation. I'm happy for all the ones that they helped but disappointed in the way my situation was handled.
