Brandon had us on the Walleyes right away; within 3 minutes of our line hitting the water we had a keeper in the boat and limited out in less than and hour!! We switched and fished for Northern next which we also conquered thanks again to Brandon's knowledge and ability to "teach" a northern newby!! We don't normally fish for Northerns but Brandon encouraged us to do it and we had a blast. Brandon's knowledge of the lake and fishing, not to mention his company, was worth every cent!! He's definitely a "keeper"=;) This is our 4th year staying at Woodland and using Mitchell's (now Perch Patrol) and every year has been a success. We're planning next years trip already!

If I lived in North Dakota, I would visit this park often! What a great place! I love the drive…read moreinto the park from the town of Devil's Lake. Driving over the causeway reminded me of living in Florida. The only drawback with the causeway is that they prohibit pulling over on the shoulder and parking. In some patches of the causeway, I saw some vehicles parked on the shoulder. These vehicles were fishermen. I did see a lot of fishermen at the park on this day. Also, I saw a lot of patrons who were using the park for purposes of overnight camping. There is a park entrance fee. You will need to stop at the Grahams Island State Park Visitor Center and purchase the park pass there. I do not recommend going inside the park without purchasing a pass. What's nice about going inside the visitor's center is that there is a small convenience store that doubles as a tackle and bait store as well. The convenience store was ideal for me as I grabbed a few snacks and an ice cold beverage for my park visit. The park entrance fee is nominal which is also impressive. So many parks charge exorbitant fees these days. They do not offer a military or veteran's discount. I was so impressed by the vast size of the lake. It felt like I was visiting a different state or part of the country. It was also wonderful to see boaters on the water during my visit. I mostly saw people fishing from their boats. There are also some nice campground areas inside the park with public restrooms nearby. Don't forget to visit the small beachhead! This is a nice beach area with plenty of room to put your beach chair or towel on the sand. The shoreline is nice to wade in too. When I visited, it was great to see children frolicking around and along the shoreline. There are also picnic tables to use for a nice family picnic or to sit and admire the vastness of the lake. There was a nice breeze blowing on the day I visited so it was just wonderful to sit at a picnic table and take it all in. I also saw some walking trails in the park. Be sure to venture along these paths as there is so much beauty to take in here. There is also a dog park, activity center (Silver Thompson Activity Center), and picnic shelters. Check the Grahams Island State Park which is through North Dakota Parks & Rec. Overall, I was very impressed with the park and the gorgeous views of the lake. I would absolutely return here again. I also enjoyed my drive out of the park and over the causeway to the mainland. If your'e ever visiting North Dakota, be sure to visit Grahams Island State Park. You will be in for a treat! Enjoy your stay and be safe!

On the first call she told me it would be 450 per person, after a few calls it went to 550 per person, finally it went up to 650 per person, which is absolutely outrageous. I was a little irritated but still went along. After that, they wanted a deposit, which she informed us would be $500. When we went to pay, the deposit went up to $1,000 then added a 4% fee for credit card usage informing us there was no way around using credit card even though it stated on the website that we could pay cash or card if we wished to avoid the fee. After all the confusion, I finally asked for a refund of the deposit, mostly because I was a little tired of being lied to. At which time some person I hadn't even spoken to called me, and without even letting me speak began calling me names which I'm not comfortable writing on the internet along with calling me a moron and threatening to spread my name around to all the other guide services, which if he wasn't aware is considered slander. As if that wasn't bad enough he said things to my wife that no man should say to a woman. All in all, I would stray far away from this place. It seems to me that they are just looking to bleed people for every dime they can get. If 0 stars were an option I would have opted for that, unfortunately it is not so I suppose I will have to settle for 1. Absolutely DO NOT recommend this place to anyone wishing to have a pleasant experience.
