Allegheny Land Survey - Stake in ground

Allegheny Land Survey

(5 reviews)

I needed to hire a land surveyor, so I could obtain a plot plan for permits for a new deck and…read morefence. I felt unsure of which companies to contact, so I asked my township for their recommendations. My township emailed me a list of survey companies that other residents have used, and Allegheny Land Surveying was one of those companies. From that list and other recommendations, I contacted several survey companies to determine their availability and prices. Only two companies were available. Compared to the other company, Allegheny Land Surveying had slightly earlier availability and a slightly lower price, so I hired them. I coordinated this job through their business manager Cindy, and she was always friendly and prompt in her communication. I paid a 50% deposit at the time of the appointment booking, and then I paid the remaining 50% when they completed the fieldwork for the survey. Please note that they accept only checks and money orders, NOT credit cards or electronic payments. My Certified Boundary Survey included the following: county research, field work, staking with iron rebar and wire flags, PA One Call, and a certified plot plan. I had worried that the snowy winter weather would delay my survey, but Allegheny Land Surveying stayed on schedule, and they started my survey exactly on time. Two employees arrived at my house at 9:20 AM, and they finished at 10:45 AM. One employee, Zack, politely introduced himself to me at the beginning of the appointment, and he thoroughly explained the stakes and boundaries at the end of the appointment and wished me a great day. One business day later, Allegheny Land Surveying emailed me a PDF of my plot plan, which I will now use to obtain permits for my new deck and fence. They are also mailing me hard copies of the plot plan via snail-mail. Overall, I feel very thankful for Allegheny Land Surveying's availability, pricing, courteous personalities, and high-quality survey. Tip: If you anticipate hiring a land surveyor for a spring or summer project, then I highly recommend that you hire the surveyor in the winter, because the surveyors can get very busy starting in March.

Professional, on time, and very helpful. Highly recommend if you need a property survey.read more

From the beginning of the project, MDM provided us with good ideas of how to accomplish our goals. MDM representatives had a thorough knowledge of what was needed. We were told from the beginning what to expect in the process. I was amazed at how our surveyor anticipated possible obstacles to our plan and ways to work around them. Ultimately, we had to appear before our township planning and commission for approval. I can't say enough about the value of MDM's assistance. They were worth every penny we invested in their services. I had no prior experience working with a surveying company. At times it was frustrating because during the summer they get super busy with outdoor work and aren't always available. But, what really counts is their knowledge and their willingness to share it. MDM did everything right in the assistance they provided us. We are 100% satisfied customers.

I have had follow up questions about my survey with future needs, and they responded with answers the same day. I found that the service provided was a great value for all services that we requested.

He…read morewas able to come out and do a thorough inspection even though there was scattered light rain outside. I have been concerned, stressed, and overwhelmed about my foundation situation. Carl Massini pinpointed what the issue is and what exactly needs to be done. Carl Massini also drew a straightforward sketch of the issue, as well as left notes about what to do. I'm very grateful that I have this paper to show future contractors/repair companies the foundation repair I'm looking for! Finally, this inspection was very affordable and accessible for me. I prefer talking via email, and I was grateful Carl Massini was alright with that form of communication. Definitely go with him as your structured engineer! I really didn't know what to do about the foundation issue before. He also recommended me some companies / people / contractors to handle the foundation repair, and gave me feedback on other companies that I found that don't do foundation repair. I'm very happy with my structural engineer inspection!

I decided to call Carl, an honest structural engineer rather than a salesman at a foundation company. Carl, agreed something needed done but less than half of what I was presented. Carl gave me other companies to call. I called one of those companies and they agreed to follow Carl's recommendation, saving me $20,000 Take a breath, call Carl and get some peace of mind.
