I attended Marshall University from 1989-1994. It has changed a lot since I graduated, but what…read morehasn't changed is my love for MU. I studied public relations in the school of journalism. My bachelors degree, persistence, and God's blessings have taken me further than I could have ever imagined! There were a few things that attracted me to Marshall. I liked that I could walk from one end of campus to the other in roughly ten minutes. And my parents lived less than an hours drive from Huntington. And lastly, they offered a tuition discount because my hometown in Kentucky was nearby. I was employed at the book store through the work study program. I could stop in for an hour, go to class and come back and work for a few hours. I loved the flexibility! The two pain points were registering for classes which meant standing in line in the basement and praying the classes I wanted were still open when I got to the front of the line. The other headache was completing the financial aid form and waiting to speak to a counselor. Now, neither is an issue because students can register for classes and fill out the FASFA form online. I've stayed connected to Marshall through volunteering on local alumni boards first in Baltimore, MD and now in Jacksonville, FL. Marshall has and is growing tremendously both the campus and the student body. I still enjoy attending football and basketball games when I'm in town visiting my family. I wouldn't change my college experience for anything! The education and life-long friendships are priceless;)))

Then when my family and I took a tour of the campus we had lunch at one of the dining halls which was awesome. After my family and I met Mrs. Bianca who is the Autism Training center coordinator We we're really excited to have the opportunity for me(Brady McPherson) to have the opportunity possibly be a part of the Autism program that Marshall University had to offer. I am also excited because I recently got into Marshall University and am really looking forward to having the opportunity to Study Special Education for 4 years I will be an Incoming Freshman Next year for the Fall 2024-2025 year . So I started back to school at MSU and have 2 classes in Mt Sterling that are closer than Morehead…read moreState to Lexington. The building is kept up neat. They have a donation coffee bar for patrons. Plenty of parking if you happen to be there at "peak hours", my class is at night. My classes use a video conference-style method between this and MSU's home location with 1 professor-2 locations that is convenient. All of the assignments are on BlackBoard to follow along. My biggest inconvenience is that the vending machines do not take MSU's "Beaker Bucks" or cards for that matter, just cash.

The facility is quite and well laid out. The staff here were very friendly and helpful. I feel as if the students were eager to learn and attentive as were the professors. I will gladly go back to lecture again at any given time.

The students are pleasant enough and the campus is chill--instructors are not really pompous the way they are at some universities--there are a few exceptions unfortunately.

The dorms are actual apartments, not cement walls. The tuition is low, and people actually get jobs when they leave. You cannot beat the views. The town welcomes new students, and there are things to do in town, like antiquing, food, etc. Everyone is really nice. Don't listen to the old posts. They are old posts for a reason.

And she apparently doesn't know it to assist the students and her availability to help students? Immediately after class. You have another class? Too bad for you. My professor for the other Physics class however is top notch. Tech is in a basement. Make that make sense. Student Career was empty and the entire university seems to be run by students. Which is not very well run. I'm not sure I'll continue with this school unless they can prove themselves, but they leave a lot to be desired; TEACHING to start with.
