I was having issues on the interstate and took it to the nearest shop, Staley's Automotive. We thought and he thought it was the thermostat. He advised if we would go get the parts and coolant ($75) he'd put that on for me, so I went with a family member to run that errand. Well, 2 hours later, he advised he can't fix my car and believe it's a blown head gasket. He quotes me $3k to fix it and I owe him $350 for what he's done already. Needless to say, he was not going to do anymore further work to my car. Additionally, he could only accept cash or Cash App at the time and he held my keys until he received payment. I was charged $150 for the diagnostic, and I was also charged $100 per hour for labor. I found this out after he looked at my car, not before. Clearly, I should have asked more questions as this shop doesn't have price of services listed anywhere. He didn't have time to do a compression test on my vechile but advised that was his diagnosis. How a mechanic can give a hypothetical diagnosis and still charge you is highly unprofessional. In total, I feel that I was out approximately $425 in diagnostic/labor costs, in addition to the money I spent on parts based on the original diagnosis. My car was no where near fixed or diagnosed and I still had to get it towed. I towed my car from this shop and had a proper mechanic look at it. The actual problem turned out to be that one of the belts had broken and another belt was dry-rotted...something that I was never informed about during the initial inspection Jason did. They also advised, my head gaskets were completely fine after doing a proper test. I was shocked. I understand that automotive problems can sometimes be difficult to diagnose, but I paid for a professional assessment and expected the vehicle to be thoroughly inspected before being advised to purchase additional parts or pursue a potentially serious repair. Unfortunately, I left feeling robbed of $350 for a diagnosis that did not accurately identify the actual problem. I will never use this company for anything ever again. I hope the shop takes this feedback seriously and considers being more thorough and transparent with future customers.

I found Turnage Auto Care through Yelp and made the appointment right through the Yelp app. Tyler messaged me and set everything up. Aaron greeted me right as I arrived and got the process started. While changing the oil they inspected my car and found a few issues with the tires I mostly knew about. He offered to send a quote to replace one or all tires & TPMS sensors ( which my 13 yr old car was needing ) I liked that they quote through a text link so you can see the cost and everything associated with the repair. You can decline the service or accept it. We talked about tires and sensors and ultimately decided to go with a better tire than quoted. They priced the cost and labor very competitively and I approved the service. There was no pressure at all during this transaction. Just information and options. I definitely was happy to find Turnage Auto Care, Tyler and Aaron. I'll be bringing both of my Hybrids to them from now on!

My fiancée called someone out to replace our power steering pump on Monday, August 19th 2024. The…read morejob was incomplete and so he offered to come back the following day (August 20th, 2024). My fiancée then received a text from him at quarter after 12pm and rescheduled stating he'd return on Friday, August 23rd 2024 at 1 pm. He texted the mechanic early in the morning because he had to work, I was home and had the keys for whenever he would return to finish the job. Fiancée was going to pay him more than what was quoted because it's a difficult model to replace. My fiancée has been a vehicle mechanic for over 20 years, has worked in dealerships, and knew exactly what needed to be done but couldn't because he injured the nerves in his hand at work. After texting the mechanic, my fiancée did not receive a confirmation text or call. The mechanic did not return to complete the job, nor did he have the courtesy to call to reschedule or explain why. After multiple attempts to get into contact with him since Saturday evening, my fiancée has given up and completed the job himself with less tools and further injured his hand in the process. If you're looking for reliability, convenience, or basic common courtesy, I DO NOT recommend H&L Mobile Services. I am grateful to my fiancée for completing a job that this mechanic was going to get paid to complete, as we have 2 children and I am currently pregnant and immunocompromised and this is our only reliable method of transportation. Had he not fixed it himself, we would be out of a vehicle for his job, our children's doctor's appointments, my doctor's appointments, and emergencies. If I had one thing to say to the mechanic that failed his client(s), I would ask why it was so difficult to return a simple phone call or text message? Why start a job and not finish it? That is all.
