Pre drawn design Pattern
Jodi M.

Maurice and Dan have a unique design process all figured out here in Lincoln City. Call ahead to make a reservation during your visit but they are open most days and can take walk ins if space allows. Your fused glass piece can be done as quickly as an hour but we took our time and took 2 hours. 1 Select a pre drawn design. 2 select colors for pattern. 3 Arrange for glass cutting. 4 place cut glass per design. 5 affix with drop of glue 6 Select glass backing 7 Consider double firing/shaping. 8 leave for night time firing. 9 pick up your art!

It was a fun art form to try. The steps were easy to follow and the outcome was good. That said, there seemed to be two people working there that day. One was a taller, salt and pepper haired guy. Very friendly. I'd return if he were teaching. The other was a shorter, dark haired man. He seemed very friendly at first, and he gave a little spiel about the studio and the art for sale. He gave relatively straightforward instructions, but he was rude to my spouse, essentially telling him to leave because he wasn't participating in his class. Later, he added glass pieces to my piece that I didn't want without asking first. The outcome was okay, I'd still have preferred not to have it there. When I came to pick up my piece the next day, they were not ready. In fact they had been placed in a kiln for a second firing, which we didn't ask for (but Is an up charge.). So I'd return if the tall person was running the show, but not the second guy.

Such a fun experience!

My daughter, son in law, and husband went on a Saturday, first week of the new year and had a…read moreblast!!! We were there for about 4 hours, going one at a time in "private lessons" with Jeff. First he has us look through the shop and select the patterns and colors we each liked. Then he works either each person individually, getting an understanding of our vision and explaining the overall process. He explains each step and talks you through it, constantly reassuring, complimenting, even celebrating how you do. He keeps checking our understanding or gently "correcting" by saying things like "great job with that, now this time, try to..." And as you move through the process, he is there every minute, every moment, every step of the way, and making sure he is helping us make our vision in glass! With each of our visions different, the pieces we made were unique. I wanted the bits of color to remain a bit of texture (like a piece I'd found in the shop), with an open hole in the ball for filling with agates, and a clear "window" for seeing the rocks inside. Jeff was amenable to leaving the open hole (which I plan to plug with a large cork) and the "clear window" worked! It was a special family activity and an experience we're sure to remember. Of course we've got the glass bowls and balls in case we need a reminder! Sure the glass molding and blowing was fun, but honestly, I can't imagine a better instructor and coach than what we experienced with Jeff!!!! Highly recommend it!!!

We came here as a family of 4 with two kids being 12 and 9. The man showing us and teaching us was the best. Worked nice and slow with the kids making sure they were comfortable and had a good time and were safe. We all had so much fun. One of the best things to do at the coast. I want to come do it again and again. This is the place to come if you're wanting to try glass work. This place is worth supporting just give it a try. You will be in love.

The fresh flowers that she sells are so pretty and very reasonably priced Her tea cups and saucers are fantasy based and the paintings she creates are full of whimsy, lightness and blissness. Aria the owner is easy going and you can tell she's happy in the space she's created. She also has art classes here. We came here for a tea party and we got that and more. There were many unusual and delicious tea choices. From lavender grey tea to pink lemonade tea to amber bliss etc. There were tiers of goodies from little quiches to these amazing fruit cheesecake layers of awesomeness to a french bread/brie/berry jelly topped off with rosemary etc. She has some wonderful options of different flavored sugars such as ginger and lemon as an example. You may buy these wonderful delights and then include them in your tea or you can just lavish in sugar cubes. We actually ordered this amazing rose hips iced tea with frozen fruit and mint ice cubes. As part of the special tea party you also receive a lovely bouquet of flowers to take home. This, and Ms. Alice the amazing white fluffy bunny that would visit you from time to time. Romantic and delightful. It's all part of the beautiful ocean surrounding this lovely town and fits in so perfectly.

Everything is so tastefully presented and decently priced you'll just never want to leave. I came in to buy a bouquet and left with a bunch of other things too! I ended up doing a tea tasting which was so much fun, I highly recommend the "house blend" made with wild huckleberry. The book selection deeply impressed me, lots of cool titles I hadn't seen before anywhere else. It was amazing to get to talk with the artist and see such a wide range of artwork, SPOILER ALERT they're all gorgeous! On top of everything else, the owner teaches art classes, hosts tea parties, AND you can even book the tearoom for a baby or bridal shower. There's no end to the number of awesome things to fall in love: Alice the rabbit, artisan pastries, and the positive energy in the store (just to name a few.) Simply, you'll be blown away totally worth 5 stars and much more.
