Call ahead to make a reservation during your visit but they are open most days and can take walk ins if space allows. My second experience with Mor Art...again, I loved it! A creative environment, lovely music as a background, and 2 patient, artistic, accommodating men ready to aide you in any way! I decided to create a Fathers Day gift for my husband. Dan cut specific pieces for my project, and made several suggestions, which were what I needed to make this piece what I wanted it to be. Calm, helpful and brimming with ideas! Firing took 2 days, Maurice called me on the second day, as promised, and my piece was just as expected! My husband opened his gift this morning, and was so pleased! You really need to create...and Mor Art is an excellent place to do it!! read more

Do not waste your money here. The owner is over controlling, manipulative, rude and insulting, when creating out art, we didn't have a choice for our colors and design as we had to choose from a stack of pre draw drawing. From there he cut out or glass and told us what to do and how to create it. He even moved pieces around so it would look they way he wanted to. We where also not informed it would cost 20$ extra for the color background. And did not give us a choice to use it. I went to dig into the bin of glass shards that was laid out on the table and was told I was doing it wrong it would look horrible. From there he started curing the 20$ background and did not inform it would cost extra. But was told not to make my own? So confusing. We paid not thinking of why it cost us 40$ then got back to our car. Then returned asking for a refund and was insulted by the owner saying " I see you obviously cant afford it, but it's non of my business. Demanding 10$ back after we gave him a 50$ bill. We then asked if we can make our own background and he was rude and ignored us saying it would look horrible. At this point we where both annoyed so we just finished our glass work as we already paired 80$ for this. During this the owner ignored us and was very disrespectful by talked behind our backs to the other man that was working there. Overall our glass turned out great. But would not spend another dime or step foot into this place again. read more

It was a fun art form to try. The steps were easy to follow and the outcome was good. That said, there seemed to be two people working there that day. One was a taller, salt and pepper haired guy. Very friendly. I'd return if he were teaching. The other was a shorter, dark haired man. He seemed very friendly at first, and he gave a little spiel about the studio and the art for sale. He gave relatively straightforward instructions, but he was rude to my spouse, essentially telling him to leave because he wasn't participating in his class. Later, he added glass pieces to my piece that I didn't want without asking first. The outcome was okay, I'd still have preferred not to have it there. When I came to pick up my piece the next day, they were not ready. In fact they had been placed in a kiln for a second firing, which we didn't ask for (but Is an up charge.). So I'd return if the tall person was running the show, but not the second guy. read more

Maurice (hope I'm spelling it right) was such a pleasure to work with and made the experience so much fun. We highly recommend! Be sure to make a reservation. I never write reviews, but felt like it was necessary. I received a Groupon as a gift from for Christmas and was excited to work with glass again. I took a glass fusing class in college and was very excited to create something. There was no creative freedom, he adjusted all of my glass, and everything is pretty much precut and mapped out for you. On top of that the owner is extremely rude. I opted not to pay extra for a colored background when I realized that it wasn't going to be my art, and more of a hand over hand color by number situation. When I told him I wanted the background to be clear, he was very rude and didn't allow me to finish my art project because, "there would be no contrast without a colored background". So I was not allowed to add splashing waves to my lighthouse. I am very disappointed and will not be returning. read more

Second time insult My friend has a beach home here so we came to create a fused glass piece a couple years ago. My memory is horrible of this experience with the owner telling us what we couldn't do and taking charge of what color and cut choices for our pieces. My fiend hated her piece as it was made in colors she dislikes. We have always recalled this experience and the way we were treated by this pompous owner. In my hometown, a fused glass shop has opened and the owners allow the client to have full range choices. The owner explains ahead of time what types of product will look like showing examples and shares what would be an up-charge ahead of time so clients can make conscious choices. I've returned a 2nd time to Mor Art as we love to do crafts. The experience repeated itself and became even more INSULTING. The owner is CONTROLLING and doesn't like clients to use their own creative expression. He wants you to chose his art outlines. I told him I wanted to use scrap pieces of glass on the table to guide my design. He said no, you need to have an outline on paper to have it turn out incorrectly. I stayed firm on my wishes and he replied, "I WILL NOT HELP YOU THEN, you are on your own and you will not get any help"! WOW, thank you for not inspiring artistic expression as only yours matters! I watched several other customers come and go and he convinced them on his pre-made designs then dictated their process. I watched them come and go quickly while I remained independently doing my thing. I had grabbed a box of glass pieces and was told they were not for class use as it was someone elses. There were approximately 10 boxes set aside not for use but in plain sight. Only shards on the table were for customers which were out of popular colors of blues and reds which were in those boxes but not available for customers. Afterward, he demanded I glue down the pieces as he couldn't be certain glass pieces wouldn't move in the kiln, responding to me sharing that my hometown glass place is careful in transporting items with no need to glue. Furthermore, he said to enable a shaped piece you must purchase another plate of glass to avoid breakage. Funny that my other 10 pieces I've made locally are shaped and remain 1-layer and never having broke in the kiln. This shape and additional piece of glass cost me another $35. I think the owners need to visit other glass fusion websites to compare service, costs and choices such as Molten Works to improve their company. read more

Mind you, we were the the ONLY customers he had! I asked him about a fused glass process and he told me, "You know, this is NOT rocket science". Horrible customer service! Stay away from this place! Go down the block to Jennifer Sears Glass Art Studio instead. We booked an appt for 6 people days in advance. Upon arriving, we were bombarded by the owner, "we are overbooked! We don't have enough time for you! Your pieces won't be ready until next week! They will need to be shipped and that is an extra charge!" Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down mister, let's start from the beginning. There is no one else here, how are you overbooked? I see 3 kilns and 2 of them are completely empty. Why didn't you tell us our pieces would take a week? He said he told us this when we made our appt. He did not. He was adamant he did. He did not. We were scheduled to leave in 2 days and did not want to pay extra for shipping and this also wasn't feasible with all of us being from out of state/country (Idaho, DC and Germany). Owner eventually admitted maybe he didn't tell us our pieces wouldn't be ready. The owner did not offer any apologies or accommodations. We did not want to patronize this business so we left. We went a block down the street to Jennifer Sears Glass Art Studio. Amazing, busy place with excellent customer service. We spent our time and money there instead. I am very happy with my piece, but did not enjoy the experience. The owner, Morice, is very unfriendly and arrogant. He explained the process nicely, but that's where it ended. He demanded to know what colors I wanted to use on my piece without showing me any. I guess he finally got impatient enough because for my last choice he showed me two colors, and then disagreed with the one I chose. He disagreed with most of my choices actually, and would tell me that it won't look right. (Even though everyone knows that art is subjective) He is very rude, wants the pieces done a very specific way, leaving no room for creativity. When he told me I didn't do my flowers right, I explained I liked them the way I had them and he said "this is your first time? That's why." Very rude. He was not encouraging at all. Even when I chose a clear backing, he told me probably 5 different times why that won't look good. I paid for my piece, I should be able to do it the way I want. (For the record it did turn out exactly as I wanted) He treated my boyfriend the same way, although not to the extent that he did me. He is very uptight and unpleasant, I would not recommend that anyone go to him. The other owner, Dan, is extremely friendly and funny (although Morice was rude to him, too). If he had been the one helping us then I would go back to do another piece. But as awful as Morice is, I will never go back. I would give Morice 2 stars, but I love my piece so much that I'm giving the experience 3 stars. read more

Frustrated and Unhappy with this glass fusing studio. Love the DIY concept and initially had felt it was a good value. Can't give it a better rating today though because the owner took no responsibility for not having my piece ready the next day (as is typical). Because he knew that I may come later, knew because I asked if it would be okay if I did, he decided to bump my firing and service the tourists ahead of me. I explained that this decision would have been understandable but wished that someone had called me and let me know. Rather than apologize in any way for my wasted trip and time, he became insistent that I had said that I was coming in 2 weeks for it. Miscommunications happen. He may have misheard me, I'll give him that but again, the insistence that the mistake was mine and failure to in anyway acknowledge my disappointment and inconvenience was infuriating. When I asked if my piece would be ready the next day, he again acted as though he totally refused to make any commitment even though I had heard him repeat to other customers a 10 hour turn around. The fact that I shared with him that I was in the area for a month should not indicate that "un-preferential" treatment is acceptable. A shame he ruined for me the memory not to mention blew my coming back again as I had intended or referring clients there as I had also intended. I'd recommend spending your time and money elsewhere. read more

I have been in Mor Art many times. Dan and Maurice are great and always make sure your project is a success! I have done several glass fusion pieces myself and have taken groups of kids all ages to do different glass fusion projects. The owners put you first and making sure your experience is a fun and a positive one. I highly recommend this studio for purchasing or making that one of a kind gift. And prices are cheaper than making them in the Valley. You can go in for a simple fun project or decide to do something extravagant. Great Shop! read more

It was such a bad experience for me. I have done so many other craft things in the past with my friends that have been fantastic. The owner of the shop was VERY controlling and rude. He made this such a bad experience for both myself and boyfriend. The whole idea was to spend time with my friend doing this craft together yet the owner made me stand at a table to do my while he watched me and my friend was sitting at a table by himself (we really wanted to share this experience together) I even told him I wanted to sit with my friend he said "NO" its your first time you need my help (even thought it was my friends first time as well) I will NEVER be back and will tell all my friends not to go there!
