Frankly i had long hair and it was starting to look a bit ratty, so i just told her "I'm going short, and I like liw-maintenace hair as I dont like fussing with it each morning." She confirmed a couple of things with me and went at it. About 10-15 minutes later, I had my new cut and loved it. But yesterday I had a miscommunication with the shop which led to me coming in on a day Lisa wasn't there. Since I live 30 min away, I didn't want to drive all the way back again on a day she was there so I just went with another person. The new person's name was Renee and there were a lot of negative differences. Listed in the order I noticed them: - when I tried to show her Lisa's instructions+pictures, she said she didn't need to see the instructions and can go just off the pictures on her own (I figured: "hey, she's a pro, she's probably got this"). - not personable, somewhat rude/short, straight to the point. Sometimes this is actually great, because folks like this usually take their craft very seriously, whatever it is, and do a great job. However, imo, this wasn't the case. - halfway through the cut I thought it'd be good to get trimmed up a bit higher around my ears so hair doesn't rub up against my hearing aids (I have some genetic, early onset, hearing lose), she visibly sighed and said "is there anything else you want to change in this haircut?". I get it, it's annoying for me to throw a curveball, but I just thought of it and in general it just made me feel unwelcomed. - after the haircut, once I sat in my car, a bunch of hair fell in my lap, I realized then she didn't blow dry the loose hair off. Had to vacuum the car when I got home. - the haircut looked decent in the shop, but by the time I drove home and my hair dried, it looked sloppy. Not sure why, it just didn't look like a crisp fresh haircut and I def didn't feel like a million bucks like when I get it cut by Lisa. - I'm also just now realizing that not drying my hair was another sloppy part of the haircut, but it did hide a lot of shortcomings until I got home... - the top is too long and now that it's dry it falls in my face (the instructions said it should be 3", it's 4-5") I'm going to a nearby place tomorrow that does touch-ups to get it fixed. Honestly, If they're good, I might not come back to V's.

When I showed up, they told me that my barber wasn't in, there was just one guy there today, and he was booked solid. So, no haircut for me. Now, I used their app to book the appointment, and I even got a confirmation message last night. When I got home after showing up at the barber shop, I checked and I got a cancellation message 6 minutes before my appointment. I suppose that was supposed to be helpful? The lone barber that was there was apologetic, and I know it's not his fault. But what the heck? There are normally 3 or 4 barbers there on any given day. You couldn't call one in to provide some cover? You really think 6 minutes is sufficient notice? You didn't give this poor guy anything more to say other than, "Sorry"? What terrible customer service. Ended up going to Floyd's in Birmingham instead. ----Update--- The owner responded that someone would be "in touch soon", presumably to try to make things right? 2 weeks later, still nothing. Another fail.
