Scott is an extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and ethical guy. He gave us peace of mind with an inspection of a fireplace that hadn't been used in decades that we were told needed work. He was very helpful in giving his perspective over the phone and made room in his busy schedule to stop by and inspect the chimney the same day. We definitely recommend Scott and he will be the first person we call with any issues or questions! read more

We recently bought our house and the fireplace clearly had not been used in years. Montecito Chimney Service came out pretty quickly, cleaned the whole fireplace and checked to make sure it was working properly (we have a gas fireplace). He made several recommendations regarding the gas logs and embers which were very helpful. read more

We just had our two fireplaces serviced by Scott from Montecito Chimney Service. The damper inside one chimney had been stuck in the open position for several years. The last person to service it, said it couldn't be fixed so he put a damper at the top of the chimney. That retrofit damper broke and I thought Scott would just replace it with a new one. Instead, Scott worked on the original damper and got it to work again! He then put a simple cap/spark arrester on the top of the chimney. We are thrilled to have this working properly again! Scott also checked and swept both of our chimneys. Scott was punctual, quoted prices in advance and adhered to them, is very friendly and knowledgeable, and he did a great job. We couldn't be happier with our experience. We will use Scott again and highly recommend him to others. read more

Couldn't be happier with Scott's service. He was safe, clean, on time, friendly, and knowledgeable. He swept the chimney, did a safety check, and cleaned the bricks on the interior of the firebox. He installed a new fire pan to change from log fire to fire glass. And he had dog treats for my dog! read more

A+ business. Scott did a great job. He gave a window of time for the appointment and called to keep us updated during the period. He did a thorough job of cleaning and evaluated our chimney. We just moved in and it was inspected but he found what the inspector missed and even had the parts in his van to do the repair while here. It is a really busy time of year and he has plenty queue up but we did no feel he was rushed at all. He was super respectful of our space and friendly. Tip: He did say calling his cell number is the best way to reach him (we had initially called his office line). I would recommend! read more

Moved into a new house and had Scott and Junior come out today. They did a roof to fireplace review of my chimney and fireplace. These guys were great. Service was fair priced, the work was efficient and expertly executed. I highly recommend them if you need this kind of work done. read more

What a flake Scott turned out to be. After promising to come and do our chimney work, he rescheduled three times (!). This had us waiting at home for three entire days. A few days before Christmas (when he knew we'd be using our fireplaces), he abruptly canceled entirely. He said it was "too far for him to drive" -- even though I'd previously agreed to pay him an extra $50 for his mileage! First Scott told us he'd be in our town on a certain day and would come then. He rescheduled, but said he'd be nearby on another day and would make us his first stop. We waited patiently. He didn't show up then either. Why? He decided to go to a garage sale (!). He rescheduled a third time, and by late afternoon on the day of his promised arrival, I finally phoned him - and he said he wasn't going to come at all! As I was telling him about our three days of waiting, he rudely talked right through me, and when my wife called him back, he claimed "I told you about a hundred times I wasn't going to come!" No, he told us he WAS coming -- three times. Scott repeatedly shined us on, made us miss a holiday party to wait for him, and finally was a no-show. In our experience, he was completely unprofessional and couldn't care less about inconveniencing customers. I want to warn people off Scott and Montecito Chimney Service. In the end, thankfully, we had a wonderful experience with another chimney service. (Check my reviews.) read more

Scott was amazing. Fast, professional, and not only cleaned but fixed the two problems I had with air flow (one known problem and the other was shown to me and fixed). Didn't even charge me for second issue, but I insisted on giving him extra. He is polite, fast and reasonably priced. He also made it out for my appointment within a few days even after knowing he was swamped with calls and business due to the weather change. Don't go anywhere else, he is the best. read more

Scott is conscientious and knows his business. Over the past bunch of years he has cleaned the chimney and also installed gas log fireplaces for me, also for the house behind mine, the one across the street and down the street. We've all had good experiences. Much can be said for Scott's credit - for now, he's highly recommended. read more

had scott oout after he did such a great job at my sons new house in carpenteria. he did a wonderful job on refreshing my gas log set with new embers and a re-organization of the logs. looks great. he aslo did a chimney sweep of a different fireplace that had not been cleaned in 30 years as well as installed a fire screen at the top of same chimney. paid for the screen in advance in and as soon as scott got it in from back-order he installed it and it looks great. avery honest guy who will do the work himself and does an excellent highly experienced job. read more

Scott is a knowledgable guy and did a great job. I just moved here from Sacramento. I wasn't sure what kind of condition my chimney was in so I chose Scott because of the other positive reviews. I found out my flew is rusted open because there was a rain cap that didn't fit right, or one had been missing for years, but that it was at least rusted in the open position. He put on a proper stainless steel cap. I also had him install a gas burning log set and it looks great. He's a very nice and hard working man. I'm happy with his service. read more

We live in Oak View, and were dismayed by experience with (and reviews of) our local chimney/fireplace services, so called Scott who is 45 minutes away. Yes there is an extra travel fee, but well worth it. Scott cleaned and assessed our two fireplaces and gave us excellent advice regarding a potentially dangerous situation with one of them. He even spray painted the surround and replaced the lava rock in our old gas log set which made things look much better. Excellent, knowledgeable service which goes above and beyond at a fair price. Do yourself a favor and don't call anyone else! read more
