If I had a day to spend Id try and walk the whole thing out to the outskirts of the western parts of the city. It is quite huge. It's interesting that this city planning and beautiful space came out of the tragedy of the city flooding and the new river, which is almost completely barren on the outside of the city is down trodden. Anyways, there is way more to explore than meets the eye, and a bonus is on hot days, it's usually more temperate in the gardens below

This beautiful green space and bike path once had a river ran through it, and following severe…read moreflooding in 1957 it changed the city's landscape forever, becoming what is now 9 kms of park snaking through the heart of the city! Fantastic way to discover the Valencia from the old city to the City of Arts & Science or vice versa, with gardens and funky architecture along the way. Wonderful example of how changes can bring more green space and alternate use and pedestrian and cyclist transportation to a city!

Had a great experience camping at Devesa Gardens. The location is amazing, 13 minutes driving to…read moreValencia city center (also a bus stop to the city directly in front of the entrance) and 20 minutes walking to the beach. The path to the beach is a bit tough with kids I would imagine (narrow passageway, hot sand) 5 minutes driving down the road is a beautiful lake - great to watch the sunset. The staff was great, easy check in - they provide you with bracelets to use during your whole stay to use the facilities. We stayed in a tent, the plots were a nice size, electric hookup available, bathrooms super close to all plots and the bathrooms were kept spotless! They also have adorable villages with small bungalows to rent. Basically every time I used the bathroom, they were being cleaned or just been cleaned. Hair dryers provided and unlimited hot water. The facilities were great. They have a small zoo, horse stable, mini golf, go-karts, a mini club, 3 bars, sport courts, a park for kids and a wonderfully kept pool. The only issue is traveling without kids, the pool was hard to enjoy. There is constantly a lot of screaming kids with no where to go for adults wanting a break from them. They have a small convenience store with just about everything you need (a bit pricey of course) and the best part was the restaurant Devesa. The restaurant was phenomenal. Inside and outside seating, paella for €12 per person and was authentic and delicious! Highly recommend. This is a fantastic camping - clean, great price and near an awesome beach!
