Many places offer similar type lamps but are either clunky, unoriginal or will make your wallet over $1,000 lighter. We found the one we've looking for at BoConcept. It's a furniture franchise originated in Denmark. The store in Vancouver is on the 2nd level of the building shared by Inspirations on the ground level of the building. It was slight confusing on our first visit because they are 2 separate businesses which share a common centre in-store stairwell. Service was good. Since the only one available was a floor model, we were offered a reasonable 10% discount. A good alternative to sleeker and more stylish Scandinavian furniture in town than the mothership from Sweden.

The look is clean and refined and the quality is quite good as well. We have had a few issues here and there but Paul and BoConcept (and Rick) have been there to help us take care of anything that needed fixing. It's also nice to have an actual designer come to your house to help you see if things will work etc. They will even come during the installation to ensure that things are aligned correctly etc. I would definitely recommend them (and Paul) to friends, and I have.

My wife and I were in the area having lunch, and were about to head downtown to The Bay, and afterwards to Granville Street, to check out some furniture stores as we just moved to a new place. She used to work in the area and would always pass this place thinking it was some super nice but over priced wood furniture store. I love myself some solid wood so I just wanted to check it out anyway before we hit the Skytrain to go to The Bay. No harm in checking things out. It took her some convincing to drag her in the store but she agreed. Little did she know, she would fall in love with the dining table set. The showroom is large and they have some great furniture pieces for the home. As we walked around, we set our eyes on a dining table set. It came in three sizes and each of them were able to easily extend the table by pulling out a drawer on either side. The furniture is not cheap but if you compare to some of the other high end furniture stores on Granville Street, then it's a great deal. You can definitely tell that it's made of high quality solid wood. They advertise that the table will last for generations, and if you consider that this might be the only table we ever have in our lives, then worth it. YGWYPF. While browsing, the boss, Diamond, (yes, he has a bad ass name) came to talk to us. He was knowledgeable about his products and as he talked, I realized that he genuinely believed in the furniture he was selling. In other stores you can see through the sales person's BS. However, Diamond was able to tell us the story from beginning to finish of where the furniture is made, who makes it, and how it's made. He was also able to make great suggestions on which chairs would work best based on the description of our dining space. Since we were in the beginning stages of our furniture search, we left our email with Diamond so he could send us some more details about the table and chairs we were looking at. Afterwards we never saw anything in other stores as nice as the dining set at Rosewood. Then, it just so happened that we came across one of their ads in the Georgia Strait which had a promotion of no taxes for the long weekend. So a week or two after our initial visit, we went down again to make the purchase. Unfortunately there was a bit of bad news. The chairs in the colour we were interested in would not be ready until February, which was a four month wait!!! No problem though, as they found a solution that worked for us. They would give us loaner chairs in a different colour and when the chairs that matches our table came in, they would exchange them no problem. Couldn't pass up the no tax sale so we made the purchase. We were able to pick up the furniture a few weeks later as that coincided with our move-in date to our new place. Overall, the furniture is beautiful and everyone who has come to visit has commented on how great it looks. As the furniture is hand made in India, we did find some minor blemishes in the furniture. I contacted Diamond about them and he said they would take a look at it when they deliver the chairs in February. Some of the issues may be able to be fixed on site. I'm hoping they will deliver on that promise but perhaps that will garner an updated review on their post purchase service once that happens. So far, a great experience at Rosewood Home & Condo. If you're looking for quality solid wood furniture and are willing to pay a fair price for it, check it out.

They also sell non-Canadian made furniture as well but without customizations. There is no pressure to buy in the store and Irina is super knowledgeable and helpful. You're allowed to sit on all the couches for as long as you want. We went in wanting a Canadian-made couch but none of the ones we sat on we liked. We decided to go with a non-Canadian made sofa called "Kendra." However, when we received it, the tag said Ashley Furniture. We looked up the couch and it turns out it is indeed Ashley's "Kennewick" sofa which sells for $300 less than Pallucci. That is when we found out Pallucci sells other furniture stores' couches with increased pricing and a name change. That was very deceiving and disappointing. What is even worse is that Pallucci only gives a 1 year warranty on the couches that are not Canadian made. However, Ashley furniture (where the couch is from) gives a 3 year warranty. Pallucci has all their deliveries go through Marble Moving. I am not sure what kind of information Pallucci has given but Marble had the wrong couch and the wrong delivery date in their system. They also rarely take calls so we spent several days calling them just to clarify things. However, the movers themselves were nice and careful. If you are wanting Canadian-made then you may want to give this store a try. Otherwise, please do a reverse google image search on all of their couches. Chances are you can find it elsewhere for cheaper. On the plus side, there is free parking in the back. ---Aug 20 2023 Edit-- The owner is very nice and wanted to make amends for what happened. I was refunded the difference between Pallucci's price and Ashley's price. He told me that although they don't hide that they sell other furniture stores' furniture, and they will only tell you where it is from if you ask. He only buys the ones that he knows are good quality. He clarified that they will do price matching on items that are still in stock in the other furniture's website. I have changed my review from 2 stars to 4 stars because the Owner has admitted the misunderstanding and wanted to correct it. I think an improvement is to be more open about where the furniture is from. Having it in the price tag of the product would be good. I had really assumed that Pallucci was selling Pallucci-made Furniture and I think many people also think as I do - even when I look at used furniture on Craiglist/Marketplace, people write "couch from Pallucci".
