Kate Hollow and her team of people are the best to work with. Everything went so smoothly! From buying my first house 31 years ago to selling my current home, absolutely nothing has changed and they are the same great company. Recommend them 100%! read more

Montana Abstract had helped me out with recording a change to the property, so I decided to use them again for the sale. Big, big mistake. They had at least a month to prepare the closing. They failed to send me any information or ask for any information prior to the closing date. Someone called me on Monday the week of the closing. They said that they had everything that they needed. The closing was scheduled for Thursday. Since they wanted $100 for an online notary and $80 to overnight documents, I decided to drive the 80 miles to Butte on Wednesday and do the closing in person. They didn't have my company EIN number when I got there to the closing. On the phone call, I complained about the ridiculous charges for the online notary and the overnight document fees. The closing agent told me that I could always sell the property for more to cover the costs. I've had this property for over 15 years. I have paid taxes on it, mowed it, and have sprayed for weeds nearly every year that I have owned it. I divided it up and have been selling lots from the bigger parcel. I have it listed for a higher amount however, all of the offers I have been getting are 6 to 8 thousand dollars less than asking price. There is no city water in the area so people don't feel they should pay the asking price. Needless to say, I was upset at the closing agent for even suggesting that I sell the property for more. I just picked up the check today. It was $100 short from what it said on the closing statement. No explanation, just a hundred dollars less. That's not even have the real problem. According to the Warranty Deed, I have sold the buyer all of the lots in that parcel (including four lots that have been sold to someone else two months ago) instead of the four city lots that the buyer had contracted to purchase. Obviously, there was no research completed on the property prior to the sale. NEVER USE Montana Title Company unless you want endless headaches. read more

Worst closing I've ever experienced. Rude, unprepared and refused to return calls and repeated requests for final closing documents. I would love to hear from the owner, but I bet I never do. If the owner cares even a little, please contact me via email, because I do not live in the U.S. anymore. pennyrjones61@gmail.com read more

My husband and I moved from Pheonix, AZ to Butte. We packed up our uhaul and our moving truck and headed north. We arrived the day before our signing and checked into our hotel. Our closing time was at 10:30AM with Sara (or Sarah) and I was attempting to get confirmation of our appointment (made by our realitor based on info from our lender) that we were still on. 10:20 we find out our appointment has been cancelled. I call the title company and Sara(h) isn't available and no one could tell me what was going on, and I mean NO ONE! I get on the phone with our realitor and needless to say that an hour later I had been told that they held up our closing on a copy of the earnest money check! That's it! No closing should be held up on this minor issue! I could have written them a new one or sent them a copy of our cleared check from our account but Montana Abstract decided to excel ya instead. We had to pa for an extra night at the hotel and extend our uhaul for another night. Next appointment was scheduled for 1pm following day. I couldn't get anyone to confirm that appointment either. By the way, we had a 2.5 month closing so none, absolutely NONE of this should have taken place. Our closer chats us up during closing and we explain we have a uhaul, stayed in a hotel, have three dogs in the truck, and that our moving truck will be coming the following day between 8-9 am. At the end of closing she says to us that she has our key but can't give it to us until the deed is filed and she can't guarantee when that will occur and I mean if that would be the day we signed or the following day. (I have a moving company coming if you recall). She scoots us out of the building using Covid as an excuse and we are stuck with nowhere to go (unless we pay for more time at the hotel), we have a uhaul that is due back to the rerun drop off in 3.5 hours, and 3 dogs that will have to sit in the truck for 3.5 hours. These people do not care about another living soul as they are not the ones put out. GO TO ANOTHER TITLE COMPANY! Northwest title is in town, try them. By the way, Montana Abstract does not have a Better Buisness account and I'm only going to assume why. read more
