    The following review is in my opinion. This is meant to discuss my family's experience with this…read morereal estate agent. John Durham was hired to sell our home, but we feel that he did not represent our best interest and we feel that we were misled regarding the initial contract. Our memory of the event is that he recommended we sign a contract and that he would fill in the blanks later. In good faith, we signed, but we believe Mr. Durham filled in a 1-year contract duration after we signed, without discussing this term length with us first. We ended up going along with this contract thinking he would be able to sell our house within a few months. He recommended listing the house at an asking prices of +$700k when the housing market had already turned and houses of similar size in the region were selling for significantly less. This led to us having to decrease the asking price by $100k over 2 months to chase the market on Mr. Durham's recommendations, which was his primary method of selling the home. When asked to retake pictures of the home that we thought were sub par, he refused. When asked to obtain drone pictures of the surrounding landscaping and neighborhood, he refused and stated that no one wanted to see pictures of the roof. When asked to hold an open house early in the selling process, he refused. When he finally held an open house, he only held it for 1 hour and 30 minutes and we saw him put the signs up 15 minutes before the open house. When asked to obtain feedback from the few people who toured the house, he stated that we did not need it. When asked to end the contract, he refused unless we paid $9k for his efforts and costs. When asked for an itemized list of his expenses, he ignored the requests. When asked if the house needed renovations to increase the value of the home, he stated the house was perfect. Then, 2 months later, he stated the reason the home did not sell was due to lack of amenities. When we asked for the house to be taken off the market, he ignored our request until the 4th time. Mr. Durham continued to gas light us over the course of 2 months and eventually reluctantly decreased the contract term length to 6 months, but continued to refuse to end the contract or set a more reasonable end date. On top of it, he was condescending and spoke to the entire family (of physicians and business man) like we were idiots. He tried to talk his way out of doing any actual work to sell the house with graphs and articles, which we think went against common practice of most realtors. It appears that this may not have been the first time Mr. Durham has filled in contracts without discussing contents with the customer. There is another review from 2016 under re/max results. We did not find him trustworthy.
