I almost bled to death twice in the past 12 months from uterine fibroids. The doctors at the Athens…read morehospital gave me massive blood transfusions and said I needed a hysterectomy to keep this problem from happening over and over. They referred me to Dr B so I went there, with my full medical history in the system, she didn't want to read any of it. She also didn't do a gyno exam or do bloodwork and said all she will give me is a Mirena IUD! That is not going to solve my bleeding problem's. At this time I have been bleeding almost every day for months and feel so depleted and anemic and she did not actually give me any meaningful treatment or solution. Then while in the exam room I started to cry when she only offered Mirena as a solution knowing I've been bleeding profusely for so long and was told by numerous medical professionals that I have to have a hysterectomy, bottom line! When I was crying she said in a condescending tone "well what do YOU want ME to do?" I told her I want to stop bleeding forever. Surgery definitely but in the meantime, some hormones or TXA to bridge the gap til I can get surgery. That was so heartless and incompetent on her part. Don't even get me started on the front desk troll when I was leaving, she acted like I was asking her to perform brain surgery to get a doctors note for work. I've experienced more compassion from overworked exhausted ER doctors at Parkland Hospital than this "specialist"! She collected my $70 copay and did nothing to help me with my immediate bleeding, wasn't nice at all, made sure to suggest a "treatment" that will require another $70 copay to insert Mirena. I'm not doing it! I will be going to Dallas to get life saving care because this "Doctor" does not care about patients quality of life!!
