I don't recommend this company as they use scare tactics to get you to replace and rewire all the outlets in my home. $9,500 supposed to be a great price. It's a scam and I don't trust this company at all. Had an electrical problem and they never did diagnosis the problem. They just did an entire routine of checking all outlets saying they were all high voltage which would cause a fire. Had a real Electrician out the following day and he confirmed they are attempting to scam many of his customers he's went out to do repairs. This place needs a class action lawsuit against them come to my home four years after installing a brand new heating and cooling unit telling me it's not compatible with my ductwork and I need to pay 24000 for new ductwork and one month after they came to my home pretending it was for servicing my unit the air pump goes out like I don't know if they purposely did that and charged me 1,340 dollars to fix it! DO NOT USE MONARCH HOME SERVICES! We replaced our heating and air conditioning with them 4 years ago. Two weeks after install, we had solar put on the house. The solar company replaced out electrical panel, and said the wire running to our AC was too small. Monarch said they were wrong. Then the county inspector came and said the same thing, and it was a fire hazard. Monarch said he was wrong. I sent a picture of the wire to Monarch, they said they would have someone at the house in an hour. We have had to replace the condensor and evaporator in our AC unit. They are now telling us our duct work is leaking and too small, and want us to pay them $24,000 to replace it all. It was fine 4 years ago when they installed the new units. They technician says they just discovered static pressure and didn't know about it 4 years ago. When they sold us our unit they said it was oversized for our square footage. They come out to your home in teams prepared to present a $20,000-$30,000 remodels to your existing system and you can't get rid of them. I almost called the police because their salesman was so uncomfortable. 2. Then they use intense pressure tactics while you are on a three way call with a manager to get you to agree to an ongoing agreement for regular services. Do not let these people in your home! Hire someone else! I purchased the basic maintenance plan from Costco when my house was only 2 years old. Every 6 months they come out and find something outrageously wrong, then try to get me to purchase repairs that are over tens of thousands of dollars. First it was upselling me a better filtration system. Now they have been using the "static" pressure trick 3-4 visits now, using the same exact script every time! They find out my pressure is high, the guy calls the manager who is so concerned. Another supervisor comes out and takes measurements only to find the same high pressure readings. They waste hours of my day trying to exhaust me into buying a whole new duct system for $10k and replacing a bunch of parts valued at another $10k. Yesterday they got desperate and claimed my home builder used the wrong ducts to cut costs and wrapped them with something that looks like real ducts to pass code inspections. They take photos and claim they send them to their supervisor who is an "engineer" while also over exaggerating the problems. My home and system are only 5 years old and everything is covered under warranty. When I told him I would be getting a second and third opinion and shopping around, they backpedaled so much. Suddenly all those "stressed" parts weren't as serious anymore. They are scammy salesman that waste 6 hours of your day pretending to find issues that will scare and exhaust you into throwing money at the problem. Don't be a sucker. read more

This company is predatorial and dishonest. I would not recommend them to anyone. They use an AI customer service system to set up "free inspections" which is just a ruse to get into your home and pressure you into services and find problems that are not really problems. I don't trust that the pictures I was shown were from my HVAC system. I had another HVAC person inspect it and do some basic work to get it ready for the season. No problems. The monarch person came at a time when I told him I was not available even though I had a 4-Hour window set up for later in the day when I was. I sent the monarch person away and I still was pressured by the company to have someone come back out. They apologize for their service but I would never to do business with them considering their communication methods and how they are not here to help the customer but only their bottom line profits. I'm still getting messages from their AI bot to set up a home inspection. Evidently they don't keep good records either to show that someone had already come out and I hate their tactics and I'm going to let everyone else know about it. I have no other choice. read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company. Monarch quoted me an $11,000 job to fix my compressor, pump down &recharge plus duct source removal for my a/c unit. They also offered to finance. I called for a 2nd opinion from a person referred to me and the total cost to fix my unit was $800 to replace a $40 dual run capacitor + labor. Nothing was wrong with the compressor. The duct source removal, the pump down, etc...NOTHING quoted from Monarch needed to be done. This was a grossly exaggerated diagnosis and quote suggesting fixes that were in perfect running condition. They have refused to call me back to explain. read more

Per the reviews, it's like they go off a play-book on how best to up-sale and hustle the customer. They came out to do my under warranty heater service and start telling me I need to spend thousands of dollars on all these repairs. Mind you, they installed this thing just two years ago. Here is the play-book, First the Tech comes out and takes all his readings and looks very concerned. They continued to push a sale on my elderly disabled grandfather when he clearly stated multiple times he could not make financial decisions on his own and would like to wait for a family member to be present. Really REALLY disappointed with the service I have received. I purchased a new AC less than 3 years ago, and it has already given out. Mind you I took their suggestion of making my air filter space bigger and having maintenence completed as required. Now since giving out they refuse to correct their MISTAKE of not diagnosing the issue correctly and are basically trying to sell me an entire new unit and duct work. I had Monarch come out to do their A/C tuneup. That was my first mistake. I should have had the kindergarten class at the local school come instead. I have no idea what they did but they didn't bother to clean the unit. They told me I needed more work done that would cost around $1,200.00. I spent $35,000 for two units and ductwork replacement from this company. The technician came this past Saturday and they charged me $800 for a "cleaning", and another $250 for a "membership". As soon as the technician left, I called back around noon to tell them that neither of my AC units were working. Both AC units were working fine until I paid $1000 for the technician to clean them, then both AC unites stopped working. I called repeatedly, telling them that it was 86 degrees in my mother's room and she cannot tolerate this heat without the AC working. I was told repeatedly that the technician would call me right back. Until now, 2 days later, I have not received a call from a technician, despite 10 or more phone call attempts. The technician arrived within the specified time frame to look into my broken AC unit. The $99 diagnostic initially seemed to reveal a problem that could be fixed reasonably easy and inexpensive. Apparently Monarch isn't in to that. The technician went to speak with a senior technician while he was coming up with a quote for the fix. When he returned from his vehicle he had to spend another hour testing other things that he was instructed to by the senior technician. The new results were not good. The minimum repair to "possibly" fix the problem was going to be $4700. If that didn't work they could do another $3500 of work to "possibly" fix the unit. Since the unit is 14 years old I asked for quote on new system. They provided the price of 4 different units ranging from $22k to $28k. Luckily I didn't jump on it given the 107 degree heat we were experiencing that weekend. A second opinion a couple of days later had my unit up and running great for $170. I'm sorry Monarch answered the phone that day. $99 wasted on some crooks trying to upsell like Lees. I only give the second star because the technician was a nice respectful kid, and they were the first HVAC service to take my call on a Saturday morning. I hate that I feel the need to post this but today my BF set up a Tuneup service for $79 that was advertised on the television. He set it up for 4 pm and they showed up at 8:15 am. He called to let them know that he had made the appointment for 4pm. They responded by saying that they would try to send someone out at 4 pm. Anyhow that was the first strike. So, they did end up showing up at 4 pm. The first guy went up on the roof and came down and said that there is a leak and called his supervisor to come to come to help him out.... lol, yeah right!!! Thinking that they would be doing a yearly service on our AC they instead did nothing and BS'd my BF with trying to sell him a brand new unit. They said that our unit was too old to service and that it would be illegal for them to to service it. I mean they did NOTHING to it. They went up in the attic and did who knows what then came down started their script on how it would be best if he would commit to purchasing a new unit. At the end of all of this the told him that he was still responsible for paying for a tuneup that they did not do for the special price of $79. What a scam!!! Called few weeks ago for AC tuneuo. Read reviews and still didn't listen. DO NOT CALL THEM FOR SERVICE. Came out yesterday 6-12-24. Cameron and his trainee. They got here like 830 am. We're up in attic doing I don't know what. They started on unit which is ground unit about 920 am...left right before 10. I can see them..well Cameron bent at unit They walked in and out several timed. Trainee just paced, not paying attention to anything. When they left they has turned of thermostat for photo. Never turned it on. My son noticed it was getting warmer so turned it on still temp climbing he let me know and left to work so I called about 1pm yesterday to let them know. They did not have anyone to come out so told me today. When I got home house was in 80s..unit not running went out to look. Pics attached and I call this morning at 7ish not on schedule till this afternoon. I spoke to Chelsea who of course has nothing to do with this but request phone call from manager. My unit was purposely disabled. Do not..do not call Monarch!!! They were supposed to notify me with report or findings..nothing!!!! I sat there yesterday and went through my cameras footage! Update: 24 hours later they sent Luis out..performed tune up/maint after he got unit running again. Spoke to dispatch manager earlier but about it. They didn't do anything that they were not obligated to do and definitely not satisfied with the way they handled it. 3rd person out here. First Ben had the gallbto adk if someone else needed to be here to hear this. Totally dumbfounded..maybe like the person who owns this home? Me!!!! Goes in attic..goes outside. I called Monarch to come and service my heater as they had a special. The tech comes out on the last week in Jan. 2025. The tech found 3 components that had burned areas and he takes photos to show me. He, the tech, calls out his supervisor to come and inspect the components. Carson, the supervisor comes out to give me a quote to replace the 3 components. Here's where it gets ugly. Carson calls his office and here are the quotes. The primary control board is $1,790. The single stage inducer is also $1,790. The pressure switch is $479.00. They recommended also to pull and clean the blower for $895.00. Now these total $4,954.00. I'm in shock as you can imagine. I'm also a widow with one income. So I ask them to check to see if the warranty on the unit is still good. They say to me, oh no it's probably not under warranty. Now I have taken care of our business the whole time before my husband passed. So, here's what I did, I got on google put in the name of the unit which is a Goodman and put in the model and serial number. Well the warranty came up with the name and when the unit was installed. The parts are good thru 2026 and the heat exchanger good thru 2036! All of this was done in less than 30 minutes. I was pissed to no end with this information! I called Goodman in Fresno to learn that the parts just needed to be brought in replaced part for part at no cost to me So I called Specialized Air, spoke to David and told him my problem. David sends out a tech, the same day with the new parts which they installed for labor of $450.00! Now it gets better, I put in a call to Monarch to speak to a manager to let them know how they were trying to screw me, and that I should get my $150. back as they did not service my unit. So today is Feb 03, 2025 and here is what I want everyone out there that's dealing with companies for anything to know. Do your due diligence and don't feel like they are honest with you. I saved myself the headache of trying to get my money back! Here's the good part, it cost me all of $150.00 to get rid of Monarch Air and to share with the world how they tried to do business with me and to save someone else from a nightmare. I had Monarch install new ducting about 1 1/2 years ago. Last August I complained that the air flow was reduced. The technician came out and said that some of the ducting had collapsed And that there would be no charge to replace. I have called requesting the work be done a number of times and never get a call back. I am done with Monarch and would not recommend them to anyone. They are right there when you are spending money but there is no continuing service. read more

Monarch gave us a free "tune up" at the fresno home and garden show. After their inspection, it was determined that I needed to fix some things with my HVAC Unit. The representative that came to my house was named Chris. He was very respectful and knowledgable. The reason for the bad review is for the general manager named Nathan. Once our technician left, Nathan had the technician come out . I spoke with Nathan over the phone and he was very pushy, he was rude over the phone and wouldn't let me say no. I never told him that I wouldn't go with their company. I told him that i would need time to talk over the budget with my wife and he keep put pushing the issue. I was considering hiring the company until this interaction. I don't know much about HVAC but it didn't seem like they did any tuneups. read more

Stay away, this company will scam you and use predatorial practices to steal from you. They appear very efficient, but they do negligent installations and keep the scam by offering yearly maintenance where they try to keep taking money from you. Do not trust them nothing they say is true and they are masters in the art of deceiving. We are paying 25K for an air conditioning installation and we went with them because they were 10K below other providers, they said we did not need to change the ducts and that made the difference in the price. Then in the first-year maintenance came and they said the ducts were too small and we had to change them quoting us at 12K. We refused to pay it and now they are saying the ducts are ruptured and we can't use the AC. They have the same system as car salesmen they have three teers of intimidation, the sales one then they send the "supervisor" and the supervisor's supervisor" playing the good cap bad cap. Had 2 HVAC installed 2 years ago from Monarch through Costco/Lennox. Been a nightmare since the install from Monarch Costco(sadly) and Lennox. Go else where. Any where else. You don't ever get straight answers. Every time you talk to someone you get a different answer. If you call them on something on their end they immediately blame someone else even if it's their own employee while acting like that employee doesn't work for their company. At the sale we specifically asked about new ducting. We were told we didn't need new ducting and they would just seal up any connections where leaks might occur. They never even quoted us on ducting. Had issues from the get go with build up on the units that needed to be "specially cleaned" for $1000. When asked why they said it was normal. 6 months later the same thing. Asked what again. Oh you live in an area with large trees and it's dirty. 6 months later same thing. What again. Oh it's because you need new ducting and the old ducting isn't sealed up so it's sucking in insulation. And if you don't put in new ducting your units will need replaced in 3-5 year. Needless to say this initiated some serious phone calls and questions. Followed up by us having a huge leak onto our ceiling because they failed to seal up connections on the roof during the initial install and it finally soaked all the way through a foot or more of insulation. 2 technicians said the leak was because they didn't seal things up correctly. 4 months the ceiling isn't fixed and no one involved has returned calls. Had to get Costco and Lennox involved. Both of whom are also worthless. And claim only to Be middle men. Was told in June that both units needed major repairs and done immediately. Told them ok do it. They gave me a quote and I reminded them it's under warranty. Those things now don't need fixed until they actually die. If you have money for them they are ready to take it. If there are issues they run and hide. Don't trust anything they say. They told me I should have done new duct work. Even though they said I didn't and didn't even quote it and act like I should have somehow over ruled them. When questioned why my units are falling apart because of ducting when everything passed inspection I am told it's because of governor Newsome and a new law he signed. I didn't realize a politician signing a piece of paper a year and a half after my units were installed had so much power that it would make my units fall apart before he signed it. Then was told today if I don't upgrade my ductwork we could lose our warranty. So again go elsewhere. They are ready and willing to take your money. Ready and willing to blame the customer, anyone else including politicians. But not willing to fix issues they caused, be truthful and honest or even do the work they said they would do. read more

I was a member of Monarch but not anymore and you'll see why. The burner kit on my water tank broke and I asked Monarch to come by and take a look at it (this was when I was still a member). They wanted to charge me initially for a $149 diagnostic fee, but when I told them I was a member they waived the fee. After the diagnostic made by the technician, he confirmed that the burner kit was broken and needed to be replaced. The initial quote was $2700.... However, since the part was still under warranty, they said they would ONLY charge me $895. I asked the tech how much labor time will be involved and he said about 30 minutes... I asked him if the part is under warranty and covered by manufacturer, why are you charging me $895 for 30 minutes worth of work? His response was that the part was on backorder according to his manager. My response was that I work in a hospital pharmacy and drugs go on backorder ALL the time, but that doesn't mean my hourly rate goes up. What a bogus explanation! So I decided to go on Angi's to find a plumber that would do that work for a much more reasonable price. I was able to find a plumber to get the work done for $400 (total time for repair maybe 30-45min). NO bogus diagnosis charge either from this plumber. STAY AWAY from Monarch at all cost! This company was solid when they contracted with Costco and did the intial water tank installation. However, since COVID, their customer service and business ethics are absolutely atrocious. We have had nothing but issues with our services, we literally had the 2 year old A/C unit serviced 3 weeks ago and it's not working. The thermostats that were installed Honeywell have had a history of not communicating with the Lennox units but yet they still install them instead of the Lennox thermostats which by the way we were told they had been ordered 6 months ago. This is a brand new unit that shouldn't be having the issues and the response to address these is below par. Now my family sits in a house that's 92 degrees. read more
