I don't understand how this restaurant has this high of a rating. I ordered a $33 chirashi bowl and it came with imitation crab? Come on... And the fish did not taste good or fresh at all. The rice tasted strange too. For $33, you only get 9 slices of sashimi. Rest is egg, imitation crab and one shrimp. Really bad value and it tasted horrible. read more

After hearing SO MANY rave reviews of this place, I had to make my way in even though I knew for a fact that the reviews were probably blown out of proportion a bit. This is the type of sushi spot you'd see tucked away in Beverly Hills. Over priced, small portions, yet everyone seems to rave about spending an arm and a leg on a snack versus a meal. I was fully prepared to leave hungry... That was, until I saw they have Hamachi Kama on the menu. I was thrilled because Hamachi Kama is one of those appetizers that tends to go unnoticed but it's an underdog! So good, tender meat, and actually fills you up! Obviously I ordered a hamachi Kama (takes about 20 min to make) and I ordered the large sashimi platter. My husband order two snacks - IE: two rolls... The spicy tuna and salmon rolls. The sashimi pieces were MINUSCULE (as expected) and honestly kind of bland. Even the salmon kind of tasted like nothing. I was starving though so devoured it without blinking. My husband said his rolls tasted like lemon (we don't like lemon) so I'll leave that for you to figure out whether he liked his food or not. I was fully expecting a TINY hamachi kama but to my surprise it was actually quite large! And delicious. HOWEVER, some bites were overly salty and others needed salt, it was odd, ha! Nonetheless, I tore into it and was a happy camper after that. Our meal was $100 or so... And honestly, NOT worth the price tag at all. I frequent another sushi spot in PTC and get SO MUCH MORE food for $100, so I'll definitely be sticking to "my spot" but ... I am glad I satisfied my curiosity for this place. read more

The sushi was good and I loved the variety of rolls they offered. My friend and I both got mildly upset stomachs afterwards? But... I think I would go again anyway, just to be sure it wasn't a random problem. I love sushi in general, so I'm happy to see PTC having another option. read more

With all that greatness being said, the show stopper was the HOMEMADE Japanese Matcha Cheesecake with berries and HOMEMADE whipped cream! Man oh man the delight I got from every bite! Having just moved to Georgia from California I find myself trying out some new (to me ) eating places. My daughter loves Momonoki for the sushi. Although I don't eat seafood I do love Japanese cuisine for us land dwellers. Momonoki was clean. Welcoming. And the beef bowl was authentic. I was stationed in Japan and used to eat the beef bowls regularly. What a treat to find a location that does it all well. I was slightly disappointed to see no yakisoba offered. I had no idea that this place was impeach tree city. I'm actually really glad that we found it by accident because it did not disappoint! My friend and I sat at the bar and we were not rushed before we were ready to order. I ended up with a chef selection of a couple of pieces of different sushi, One of my favorite ones was a flame seared scallop, and it was so decadent, so creamy and really delicious! And my friend ended up with a salmon roll and a crispy roll as well. I would definitely recommend! The price point is worth the portion on the plate. Where do I even begin? I travel across the United States for work and make it a point to try sushi wherever I go. Until now, Hawaii had been my favorite because of its incredibly fresh seafood--but not anymore. The food here is outstanding! I also tried the Bluefin Tuna and Octopus sashimi, both of which melted in my mouth. This is hands down the best sushi and sashimi I've had in years. And the best part? I no longer have to fly to Hawaii for top-notch sushi, plus the prices here are much more reasonable! The ambience is exactly what you'd want from a sushi restaurant--inviting and authentic. Keren, my waitress, was incredibly kind, attentive, and made sure I had everything I needed for a perfect dining experience. Highest quality food, let alone sushi, in the south Georgia area. We used to be spoiled by Nobu, and were doubtful we could find a local replacement. Momonoki has been an incredible find. Worth every penny for the generous portions of the freshest sashimi, perfectly balanced rolls, and exceptional homemade desserts (the taiyaki with a side of sesame ice cream is a favorite). The staff are wonderful and you can tell love working there. The ambience is warm, but unfussy, with good bar or table options, so it's great for solo, date or family nights. Very traditional and very delicious! I had a salmon roll , the salmon was divine, clearly a superior cut. I also got the Gyudon, beef, egg, picked radish?, sauce over a bed of rice. I took on the challenge and ate it with the chopsticks, only made a big mess. The staff were super friendly and moved with purpose. Lots of great options to fit everyone's tastes. Ok, I have to be honest and say that I've followed chef Alvin here from two previous restaurants he operated. But the reason for my undying loyalty to this particular chef/owner is the quality of his work. If you want the freshest most delicious sushi, look no further. The ingredients are carefully chosen and the quality is never compromised. The core service team is stellar, a few new servers will need a bit of time to learn the ropes, but I have no doubt they'll iron out things quickly. We heard amazing things about the food and hospitality and decided to visit for the first time on a Tuesday evening. We arrived at 6pm and it did not seem very busy. There were at least 6-7 open seats at the sushi bar and three 4-seat tables available in the dining room. The greeter/waitress offered us seating at the sushi bar or a 2-seat table squeezed in behind the cash register. We sat at the 2-top table. She handed us menus and walked away. She came back 7-8 minutes later and asked if we had any questions, and I said "do you have a drink menu?" She handed us the drink menu and walked away again. After waiting another 5 minutes we asked to move to the sushi bar thinking we might get faster service. We sat there another 5 minutes and then decided to leave. I cannot rate the food but I can say the service and hospitality were poor. read more
