I got a very friendly welcome when i entered the shop, and the aroma was absolutely wonderful on entering, i tod the lady what i wanted and she gave me so many testers to try, not knowing really what my auntie really liked i went with the advice of the sales assistant and went with the most popular perfume they sell.Then came the best bit , the assistant then went to wrap it up and how beautiful did she do it was absolutely gorgeous, just hw a gift should be wrapped i was given a sample for myself and if you write your name and address down they get in touch with you to go for different treatments all free!!!! Got to rate this shop 1st class its a must if you ever go to Chester.

Being a retail park location, it is easy to get in and out of the store quite quickly, parking outside or nearby. I was able to find what I was looking for in-store, but I did only come in looking for a cold beverage. The selection in store was good, and although extra facilities you'd hope to find in Boots including the Opticians are lacking, it is a nice store overall. I also appreciate how they keep the Pharmacy open for the entire store opening hours during the week, when many Boots stores close off the Pharmacy earlier, although this isn't the case on weekends, it is nice to see the Pharmacy open until 20:00 during the week. Despite visiting on a Friday afternoon, and the store being reasonably busy, there was only one staff member on the checkouts, she was friendly and trying her best, but this meant service was slow, especially combined with a lack of self-service tills. A nice Boots store with a reasonable selection and friendly staff, but improvements could be made especially in terms of adding a bit of technology to the customer experience and more staff members on both the checkout and shop floor. 4*

It's got all the modern features and has a pharmacy (although the advice is not always inspiring), a sandwich section (meal deals hurrah!), perfume counter and photography section. It sells children's clothes and everything else you'd usually expect to find in Boots. The clearance section at the back often has some good buys and the Advantage card machine is always working! It's in a great location for the nearby office workers or tired shoppers who need some pampering products at the end of an exhausting session!

It has been owned by Debenhams since 1976, yet the store is fairly old being founded in 1780, while it doesn't seem to compare to the older department stores in London, it still is a fairly nice branch, you can enter the store through street-level or through the Grosvenor Shopping Centre. The store is pretty old and you can tell that through shopping inside, they have random sets of steps and ramps all over, so it isn't just one straight/flat level, so do be careful where you're walking to avoid tripping. They had a huge clearance sale on my visit, due to Debenhams' facing difficulties and having to close many of their stores, including this one, I still found many of their prices to be high even after the discount, I found the promotional offers to be inconsistent and it was hard to tell what item costs what as each part of the store/product range would have a different % off. The store did seem a little messy, but it did have some good products overall and it is nice to see they haven't ignored the history, it's a shame to see this store earmarked for closure as although it isn't perfect, it is and remains a nice addition to the town centre. 3*

This place really is fantastic for womens clothes - like debenhams it has all the usual brands such as Jane Norman and Oasis, and it has a great underwear section with huge variety of pretty knickers. It also has a wedding section with loads of higher quality dresses. Of course these come with a higher price tag that the high street stuff that can be found there but this is where I would come to look for something to wear for a special occasion.

Just head in either fill a bag with suitable looking soaps, bath bombs and other idea items or if you want the really simple solution just look for the ready wrapped gift section where they have found things that smell good together to save you doing it. The best thing about it is that the products are all made by hand and with natural ingredients and the packaging is limited meaning that is more environmentally sound. The only trouble I find is that the smells are so strong that my nose can't stand it for too long so I have to dash in and out quickly! The Chester branch is comparatively small but seems to have quite a good range of items. In the run up to Christmas they seem to have offers on so there are probably bargains to be had, especially if you have several people to buy for.

It has a fairly open front, and so there is at least a little more oxygen going round! You can smell the place from some distance away, so at least you dont get lost looking for it! The produce is fairly cheap considering the quality, but the overpowering scents still make me a bit of a non-fan. Its one thing smelling nice, its another killing people!

Grosvenor Shopping Centre is a pretty unusual shopping centre, the main shopping centre in the city…read moreof Chester (although there are better stores around the town centre), in many ways it is an amazing juxtaposition of old and new as the shopping centre runs through old buildings (with steps everywhere, even in places which make no sense which could be really dangerous when slippy), such as on the balcony overlooking one of Chester's main streets which has some nice stores but again doesn't appear to be highly safe. There are a few coffee shops such as Muffin Break here (I bought one of the single worst food items I've tried in my life from here), but the main bulk of places are within the uncovered streets of the centre, Grosvenor Shopping Centre might not have a lot of stores but it does offer a unique shopping experience (sheltered) which is useful while it is raining, I do feel it is less accessible (to disabled people) than other malls, which could be down to Chester is an old city, full of listed buildings (that could be the reason), as obviously many stores do have steps to go up a level, while the mall its-self is only one floor (the only lift in the mall goes to car parks only) 2* - If you want to shop in Chester, there's a much better selection of restaurants and coffee shops within the beautiful city centre, and while Grosvenor might look good in parts and it provides the benefit of shelter during the rain in most parts, it just isn't as good as it could be with a growing number of empty and unused units.

They sell all the designer stuff that you would expect - particular favourites of mine being clinique and benefit. They stock all benefits products and if you ask they will give you a mini makeover to test them out. They also stock a huge variety of perfumes. Their gifts are ideal at christmas with the 3 for 2 mix and match, and I went her after christmas last year and picked up some real bargains in the sale.

It doesn't look…read morebig from the outside, but it goes back for absolutely ages and has just about everything you would ever want a Boots to sell. They have a huge range of fragrances and I've always found the staff here to be very helpful when you're trying to decide which one to buy (for yourself or for someone else) - they also often give you free samples to take away which is nice. It's well worth making your way to the back of the store as they have lots more things here like gifts and digital cameras, as well as toys etc. There are often great deals on these - and I've bought several half price cameras from here previously.
