I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and it was terrible. 2 eggs and some rancheros sauce, and 1mm of refried beans on a plate. it was so runny I had to eat it with a spoon. All for $18! What a deal! It's a super cute spot, and a beautiful location! It's also dog friendly, which I think is very sweet. Service was alright, the host didn't seem very animated but he wasn't rude or anything, our server was helpful in pointing out what the more popular items are. My main complaint is the food itself. I got the club house sandwich with avocado, it was just a regular sandwich. My husband got the corned beef hash and eggs and although I didn't get to taste it myself he said it was bland. We ended up splitting the biscuit and gravy that came as his side and that was super bland. I'm a huge biscuits and gravy fan so that was the most disappointing part to me. The service and ambiance were very good! It is a very family friendly location to have brunch at, and the portions are pretty large and filling. If you get full more easily, ordering a few dishes and sharing is very worth it! I ordered the loaded potatoes, and they were cheesy, salty, and paired really well with the eggs and toast. The only thing that was a little bothersome was that the water glasses are only about three gulps worth, so I had to keep refilling from the pitcher of water that they gave (not the biggest issue at all). We were looking for a brunch spot that we could bring our dogs to and the reviews for Molly's Souper were overwhelmingly positive about their great patio space for dogs. Guess what, it is! The restaurant is situated in the cutest little neighborhood in Upland at what looks like an older house converted into a restaurant. Their covered outdoor patio was much larger than the indoor space too. They had a good menu with a lot of difference breakfast and lunch options, all greatly priced. Molly's use to be one of my favorite breakfast spots. However, I feel like their customer service and quality of food have steadily declined over the last couple of years. Both the host and waitress/waiters lack eye contact, interpersonal skills, and just basic customer service. First off, the host always leave us behind as they power walk to our seats, drop off sticky menus and disappear before we can request a high chair. It's a good thing the restaurant small and we know our way around; all we have to look for is a an empty table with menus. They lack basic awareness to ask if we'd like a high chair when they clearly see us with a one year old toddler. The waitress/tors are no different. I find them rude and abrupt as they rush us to order and show annoyance when we ask questions or requests. I believe this is the same reason why they always make errors in our orders and forget to bring missing items. My extroverted husband always tries to make small talk and jokes but they rarely reciprocate. We try to avoid "rush time" due to our inpatient toddler for this reason and also all the times we've gone, there has been no wait time. So I don't understand their poor abrupt customer service. I use to love sitting under their tress feeling the cool breeze while sipping on my hot coffee and eating my warm breakfast; Laughing and having conversations with the staff when they once knew us by name. Today you can no longer enjoy the outside feeling as they ruined it with a metal structure (that also absorb all the heat making it unbearable in the summer) that covers all the beauty. Room for improvement. There was three things that that bothered me when I cam here. First thing was the eggs. I asked for scrambled eggs with my plate and they seemed undercooked, milky, -1 star. For portions were decent and prices were generally affordable. For the turkey and cheese dip, sandwich was good but the au jus was a little too salty. The fruit was clearly frozen and thawed or maybe just old, but looked frozen, thawed and tasteless. 99% of the food is great. We came on a busy Saturday morning, but somehow we were able to get a table right away and even our food came pretty quickly. Great service in that sense! My husband got one of the specials which was the porterhouse steak with eggs and potatoes, and biscuit and gravy. He said it was all good, but not necessarily something he would get again. I got another one of the specials, which was the baked strawberry banana French toast. I really enjoyed it!! But same thing, I probably wouldn't get it again, just to try something new. I've had the apple waffle before, and I really enjoy that, which makes sense because it's a classic at Molly's. My two little girls shared the French toast kids meal, as there's two of everything on it, and they don't eat a ton. We also got the cinnamon roll, which is big enough to share and very yummy! I remember back when it was $2.50 or something, and it was so so worth it! Now it's $5, so just a special treat to get occasionally, not something to get every time. What keeps bringing us back to Molly's is the tea sets that they give the kids right after you order your food while you wait. There's a cute little teapot with apple juice that the kids pour into their cute little teacups, as well as a little tiny plate of animal crackers. We had stopped coming here awhile ago because we were so disappointed with the food and the service. Todays visited proved why we did stop coming here. Today they sat us at a patio table that was leaking rain water above us. The water drops landed in our food that we were in the process of eating. They knew it was leaking and yet still sat us there. Even when we first asked for a table for 3 the manager tried seating us at another wet table then instead he sat us at another wet table that was actually leaking above us. The manager tried to say she didn't know it was leaking yet there was a bucket right behind the table. This place doesn't even deserve a star. I highly suggest no longer coming here. read more
