Had the pleasure of visiting here while performing my work related duties…read more A huge thank you to Kai Swanson. What a wonderfully nice man. Cafeteria left nothing to the imagination. Every possible food item you could want Great learning atmosphere. I wish I was college age just so I could attend this amazing learning institution Thanks for the great tour and lunch

This college looks impressive on paper and during campus tours, which is exactly why my child chose…read moreto attend. Unfortunately, the reality was very different and the decision turned out to be a major mistake. Students are treated more like high schoolers than college adults, with policies and oversight that feel controlling and out of step with what most families expect from a university. The most alarming issue, however, is how the school appears to handle rape and sexual assault. From what we witnessed, the system seems to protect perpetrators far more than it protects victims. Individuals accused of serious misconduct appear to face minimal consequences, while victims can feel ignored, blamed, or even vilified for speaking up. That kind of environment discourages reporting and raises serious concerns about student safety. Drugs and alcohol are also clearly present on campus, yet the systems meant to monitor and address these problems seem ineffective. We did ask questions about safety and student well-being before enrolling and, unfortunately, believed the reassurances we were given. In hindsight, the reality did not match the rhetoric. Overall, the college does a very good job marketing itself and creating a positive first impression. Unfortunately, our experience suggests that the reality behind the brochures is far less reassuring. Families considering this school should ask difficult questions about student safety, accountability, and how serious incidents are actually handled.

We spent a wonderful winter's afternoon at this quiet (and warm) museum. There were only a few cars…read morein the plaza-level parking lot off of West 2nd the day we spontaneously decided to visit (this lot btw is the best place to park). As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable museum associate--she informed us of the layout of the museum, gave us a brief description of the exhibits, and helpfully recommended that we start at the fourth floor and work our way down. It was probably the most organized and efficient welcoming presentation I've ever heard! It was also a bonus that afternoon we showed up on a "free visits" day. I think normally they charge about $14 per person. So, we took what looked to be an upscale freight elevator to the fourth floor and started with the elegant Raven and the Box of Daylight special exhibit by Preston Singletary...this is a very cool multi-sensory work that presents the Native American folktale of how the raven brought daylight (and stars and the moon) to the earth. The interplay of sound and light with the beautiful glass sculptures were really calming and wonderful. The exhibit will be there until August 2026. On our way down to the third floor we saw some mysterious double doors by the elevator that looked like an exit but had a small label nearby, "Wintetgatden exhibit." Good thing we went through the doors because there was an adorable bronze sculpture right on the other side, as well as an expansive view of the Mississippi from a wall of glass windows...a light-filled staircase winds down towards the third floor, and I believe this is the floor with a viewing area set up with easels for drawing! This was a unique and fun part of the museum visit, and there are chairs nearby for relaxing if you don't want to draw... The second floor houses the museum's main collections, including a large collection of Haitian art; we were also able to view a traveling exhibit from D.C. We enjoyed seeing a nice mix of portraiture, landscapes, still life and abstract paintings, sculptures, video art, furniture, and fiber arts... The first floor has the cafe (not open when we were there) and the gift shop... which was very fun to browse. I picked up a book, several stickers and packets of novelty tea for only $1each. This is definitely a fun, lovely, and enriching place to visit if in the Quad Cities area!

Very nice art museum, they had free entrance during July so got in for free. The facility looks…read moremuch bigger on the outside than it has display space on the inside. I asked and they said base floor is parking to boost it above flood stage. There is a lot of off display storage with other admin and mechanical space. It's still a very nice museum and recommend it. The hidden gem is take the back stairway down from the upper floors. There is a nice sitting and art space overlooking the Mississippi. I do wish the museum store had more to offer and there was more comfortable seating off the bar, which also overlooks the Mississippi to enjoy a beverage or snack while enjoying the view.

One of the libraries threatened to called the police on them! The group of kids couldn't be nothing more between the ages of 7-11. Anywho, moving along to my own experience. Like I stated we are new to the area and I came in to finish up some school work while the children's area kept my children occupied. I didn't have my library card so I went to the circulation desk to get the card number to access a laptop. Fast forward I'm heading out to leave. I return all my items back to the kiosk and left for the day. Now apparently someone found the piece of paper that had my library card number wrote on it and check out a laptop and proceeds to steal it. Instead of properly handling the situation they were very aggressive and tells me that my account will be charged $1600 even though they "saw on video the guy getting the laptop" and leaving the building hours after we left. This isn't the first incident something has occurred within the few visits we've had. Staff is very unprofessional, and quite frankly seems underpaid. In the video which I had to trim cause it's longer. That is the East Moline Library branch director. I asked what soultions did they have to resolve this matter. She literally looked me dead in the eyes and said "we need the laptop back!" Well duhhhhhh! Just visit another location, and if you have to come here keep an eye on staff. You can't trust people to be honest in their positions anymore. Location full of thugs
