I was driving back from Miami airport last week and wanted good Cuban food, so I yelped best Cuban in area. This place came up as the Best, but actually it was not even close. I lived in South Beach for 10yrs in the 90's so I had plenty of great Cuban food, but since living in Ft.lauderdale I don't get out as much. So I ordered plantain soup which was good. Pollo Salteado which is basically chicken stir-fry with Moro rice (black beans n rice) already cooked together and tostones (fried savory plantains). Bread never came, waiter took order and never saw till needed check. The tostones were HORRIBLE I couldn't bite thru them at all(seemed like they deep fried them) and then they sat and got stale. Rice was warm n the bread was basically mini burger buns with butter pats. Maybe for Hialeah this is ok but I def won't be recommending this place to anyone I know. Best Cuban food EVER. We were 3 for lunch. We each ordered something different and each meal was beyond perfection. The roast pork had little crunchy chicharrones placed on the side so every forkful of moist delicious pork could be eaten with a little crunchy piece of heaven. The Fabada was rich and full of flavor. The Congri, which I don't usually order because it's dry, was moist and tasty. And the Maduros were soft and sweet. I am a huge fan of this little gem (I cannot believe I have lived nearby and have only recently discovered this place). Each time I come, I am always greeted kindly and seated immediately. The customer service is great, they tend to the table right away and they are always very professional in appearance and how they take care of the food. When you are seated they immediately bring you Cuban bread and butter, which is always fresh and hot. To order I usually get the baby churrassco, however this time I ordered the chicken empanizada, morro, plantains, and boiled yucca and it was delicious. Everything was flavorful and not overly salted, which I find happens a lot with morro in my experience, but this was great. My only issue was that they no longer had an avocados in stock, which is always a bummer because it is such a great touch. Also, what I really loved that they do, the beer is served in a beer mug that is completely frosted and that is such a nice touch. Who doesn't want their beer nice and cold? They are good for groups, if you have a large family and they are also good for any intimate setting. Overall, I definitely recommend this place if you like a nice Cuban cuisine or if you are interested in expanding your pallet. read more

And I called when I got home cause I couldn't believe it and another lady told me 2.95 how sad that for a coffee they want to charge so much when Versailles has it for 1.00 . My favorites to order for dinner are vaca frita, baby churrasco, or pollo milanesas. You can't come and not have the mariquitas. They make the most garlicky and lemony and flavorful sauce to go with the plantain chips. For dessert, grab a little Cuban cafecito and a Natilla with cinnamon. Life is complete. read more

I Have come back here more and more lately. My bf and I are obsessed with the mariquitas. They give a huge brown bag filled to the top for 4 dollars with a mojito on the side. Great bag for your buck. Also I recently ordered vaca frita with white rice, beans and platanitos and thought it was so good I ordered the same thing the following week. Now about their black beans... omg are they good. I've never really loved eating black beans but will have just a little over my rice. Except when I tasted these black beans. Awful. Have been going to Molina's for decades! Never have we experienced such poor customer service. In fact, it is doubtful our family will ever return. We questioned why all the glasses of water had floating debris. The reply was "that's the water from the City of Hialeah!" In this case, evidently the customers were wrong. Fantastic! My dad has been coming here for 25 years, he always orders the baked chicken (dark meat) + chips and garlic + diet coke + cafe con leche I've been coming here whenever he takes me. My last time was 10 years ago when they were at their smaller building across from the new larger location. It was JUST AS DELICIOUS as I remember. Very very good. My husband snd I passed by there last week and we decided to eat dinner. The food was really delicious. Authentic Cuban food at a reasonable price, and good service. We ordered "frituras de malanga" as appetizer, they were really delicious. I ordered the special "tasajo", the plate included two sides. There was enough food to take home. My husband ordered " chivo", even though he said it tasted good, he didn't like that it was cut up in very small pieces. Never the less, we had a pleasant experience. I had not been there in many year and was pleasantly surprised. Yesterday, I told my husband to pass by and pick up food for dinner, i was craving some of the "frituras de malanga". This time they were quite a disappointment. They were not small, they were miniature, And we're not very tasty! The sopa de platano was very watery, not creamy like it should be. We wanted "pan con bistec", they said they didn't have any! If you have steak, and Cuban bread, how can you not have that ?!?! We decided to order a "Cuban sandwich", the worst I had in town. One slice of pork, sone ham, one slice of cheese, one pickle, never had such a non-tasty sandwich. My husband had the " caldo gallego", he said it was good.
