So naturally, I'd have to give this store 5 stars since, it has a giant Totoro in the front along with the live size cat bus in the back! I can't believe I didn't know there was a whole Times Square mall until yesterday, when I was on a search for the Totoro store. I've always gone into Lane Crawford and the restaurants upstairs, but I just never knew what was between the two... Now I do, crazy it took me years to realize this. Anywhos, the only thing I'd like to see more of are Totoro goods. I feel bad saying this because they already have quite a bit, more than any other Japanese store, but I can't help but want to see EVERYTHING TOTORO since I've such a fangirl. Haha. Btw - the bath towels are ultraaaaaa soft. I can't say the same for the hand towels :( Just because there are so many designs and patterns on them in such a small clothe, but the bath towels are pretty legit - soft as a baby's butt. ;P

Pen'n Paper has all the boring qualities and products of a normal stationery store and some fun stuff too. I find myself in this shop more often then I would have imagined. I've been in for many reasons, to buy envelops, printing paper, printing ink, and then also to buy a painting canvas and painting brush (not for me!). The thing that sets PnP apart from the other stationery stores is that it's also an arts and crafts shop bringing to it a colour and feel incomparable to others. It's welcoming, well-presented and the staff are genuinely friendly. From the outside the window display is filled with paintings, canvas stands, and other interesting goodies expected of an arts and craft store. Inside there is a section for paint brushes, glues, stickers, and that sort of thing and further back there is the boring stuff. But the boring stuff is made less boring by the whole vibe of the place! PnP caters to both individuals and businesses. I know this because while I was working in DB I'd have to run to PnP on a regular basis for big orders of envelopes, papers, and other office supplies. I like PnP a lot, it's great for kids and adults, and it's one of those stores that just do things right and make life a little bit brighter. As far as stationery stores go, I'd pick this one in a line of twenty.

It's conveniently located at Olympian Mall, near the Olympic MTR Station. This store has everything you would need to stock a home office besides the furniture. It's also a great place for school, and art supplies. I'm not an artist, but they seemed to have an ample amount of paintbrushes and paint available for purchase. There are also a plethora of binders, and writing utensils available. They even had poster boards, and poster holders. If you are giving a present anytime soon, the have bows, ribbons, as well as wrapping paper by the length so that you don't have to buy the whole roll. There is also a small collection of board games for purchase. There aren't really labels on the aisles, so I ended up asking the store clerk several times to point me in the right direction, and she did so willingly. This is my go to store for office supplies and knick knacks that I need in my home, especially to fill the junk drawer. If you're looking for something school, or office related, stop on in. The English book selection here is limited, but it's my mini "Office Depot" away from home.

The store is clean and organized and there are plenty of employees around but do not pressure you to buy. I came into the store to just browse, but walked out with some beauty products that I think are slightly cheaper than what you might find at Sasa. It's a great store to find small gift items and greeting cards, they even offer snacks and drinks from around the world.

The store is somewhat divided up into stations like department stores, and as you walk around you will see a stall selling ceramics, then one selling cookies, another with leather goods... There was a lady making jewelries behind counter, one sampling her cakes, and another water-coloring on a table. There are quite a few booths promoting products designed in Hong Kong, with some local flair that makes for good souvenirs too. With so many things to see, this is a great place to spend some time, and you are unlikely to walk away empty handed. However, if you expect to find two storeys full of books, you may feel a bit disappointed. They do have a good selection of both English and Chinese titles, but not as extensive as I'd expected, and the organization is somewhat loose, making it hard to navigate around if you are looking for a specific title.

The store is never totally crowded, and you have to wonder who is actually buying the beautifully arranged (but useless) expensive knickknacks all over there store. I've never actually seen anyone buy these things. Shoppers may be frustrated because the store is SO large that a quick in-and-out trip is nearly impossible. It's very easy to lose your bearings among the maze of books and displays - hence four stars not five. A personal highlight for me is the Ten Ren tea concession (2/F, near a bakery and the escalator entrance in Star House) - where you can get one of Hong Kong's butter cups of tapioca milk tea.
