The Mole West in an elegant restaurant located in the surroundings of Vienna, at the Neusiedler See, the typical recreational area of the fancy Viennese, or in other words, the not so secret getaway, since it is just about 50 km (30 miles) outside of Vienna's city center. Here in the Mole West restaurant you take place on the pier right at the lakeside, and you can feel that your pace will become slower and slower. It is totally relaxing here at this popular lake, the Neusiedler See, one of Europe's largest steppe lakes which is at its deepest point less than 2 meters (6 feet) deep. We got a Moroccan Stew, a beef in mint herb sauce and saffron rice, as well as Spaghetti Bolognese with parmesan. Both were delicious albeit the Moroccan Stew tasted a little peculiar, but since it was my first Moroccan dish, I guess it had to be that way. It is the location, setting and ambience, not so much the food which makes me drive from Vienna for watching the sunset on the open pier. The Mole Burger was plain terrible, with a horrendous amount of dry and tasteless meat inside, for EUR 16. Quantity alone does not make a meal good. The falafel dish during one of our previous stays was dry and cold. The shrimp and chips dish is still quite tasty, which I will resort to in future stays. Come to the Mole more for chilling out and drinks. Food is optional. read more

Calming athmosphere, beautiful site. Best memories of weekends spent in surroundings of Neusiedler See, at Mole West. Tastefull coffee, always good chocolate cake at hand. Not only me and my friends are always happy to come back to the place. A lot of other people do, that is why - and this is Mole West's only black point - it is often crowded with people. we ordered burger and the meat was awful! I haven't even ate a bite you could feel by smell that it started to rotten! flies all over the place food, bread,glasses...I will never come here again! Other then that Lake is beautiful but missing a great deal of infrastructure and hospitality...if you have ever been on Garda Lake you should never even consider coming here !!! very nice, modern and trendy bar - restaurant at the neusiedler see. food is good, service is ok, depending on how busy they are ;). they kind of have a monopol standing as this place (unfortunately) is the only cool & trendy place with a fantastic outdoor area, good food and drinks right on the lake. the views are superb! read more
