UPDATE: since I can't respond to their comment... I notified them that I have Ring camera footage,…read morebought a seperate u-hail for mattresses and other belongingss. Loose belongings should matter when the furniture was all broken because it was stacked on top of each other. But yes let's let the evidence show itself. I have PLENTY.
I also hate to make a post like this as many of you recommended this moving company to me to load my u-haul for my move. However upon unloading my belongings at my destination, I quickly noticed after moving the first 2 pieces of furniture, that my truck was packed as if a literal child packed it. Everything was thrown together, literally to the point I have ring camera footage of one of the movers tossing one of my patio chairs at the very top saying "it's just patio furniture..."
I originally thought these guys all killed it, loading my house in 2 hours, tipping them, giving them cold drinks, etc.. but I was very wrong.
I now have upwards of $5,500 in damages, from couches, dressers, bed frames, custom coffee table pieces, family pieces and more... initially I thought It was less in damage but the more we kept going, the more it continued to add up.
When I spoke with the owner, she was extremely apologetic and said she would look into it. I then didn't hear back so I texted her again for an update at which she told me there were many factors such as loose items or that I denied supplies through them. However I provided supplies to these guys on my porch that I had and they were made aware of it. They knew where the stuff was. But apparently these "loose items" really meant they had free rein to just throw them where they pleased which is exactly what they did and none of the supplies used. But they were able to use the corner of my garage as their own personal garbage can leaving their gas station coffee cups and what not for me to clean up.
I even had some of my actual moving boxes with the items in them completely smashed. The owner proceeded to tell me that her team had also said they didn't throw my patio chairs on top of my couches, essentially calling me a liar, however I was easily able to provide pictures that, that was infact not the case. Thankfully I took an insane amount of pictures from start to finish to document the lack of care. The patio chairs in itself resulted in my beautiful couches having rust water all over them and black grease after specifically telling them my couches needed to be wrapped... which they weren't. One was but very half assed and not protected at all. These couches are brand new too..
They also can't blame the transportation process as my belongings were so tightly slammed into each other and intertwined that it made it extremely difficult to even unload as furniture was tossed sideways on other stuff, pressed into each other leaving holes in furniture, cracking, etc.
I was also told that I could make a claim through u-haul for the damages however I contracted them privately meaning u-haul is not liable but rather Wall 2 Wall is and based off the verbiage used in their liability section that was previously documented by me before the moving process, they are infact liable for this damage. But they seem to have change that verbiage since. Luckily it is documented.
However once I received the last message from the owner, I called out many inconsistencies the owner had said and I made it very clear of certain details. Like I said I have everything documented more than they think. I'm currently working with the Ring company for the entire footage of the moving process for small claims court.
I have not heard back from them at all and I have continued to attempt communication multiple times a day for several days, still nothing.
I cried over this as I work extremely hard for my nice belongings and it breaks my heart knowing this has now happened and it seems this company could care less. They offered to refund the $300 of the moving process but that's completely unacceptable when there's a multiple thousand in damages from this company. Surely companies like this have their own insurance, right?
Please be cautious of who you hire as you truly never know who you're really getting despite their perfect reviews...
