Great venue, quick to get in. But you do go through multiple metal detectors, which is fine. Everything moves very well except the women's bathroom line, as usual. I wish they'd figure out a better system. Items at concessions are overpriced, I wish they'd figure would take some notes from the Mercedes Benz stadium in Atlanta. Good views from just about everywhere.

What a beautiful venue. I was in town specifically for the Sigur Ros. My friend got my ticket so all I had to cover was my flight over. This was my first time at this venue. Parking was a little chaotic. Fortunately, we already prepaid for the space. We got there early enough that it wasn't too crazy yet. We had just enough time to use the bathroom and go upstairs to grab a drink. The area upstairs was super nice. There was far less people up there. I'm guessing it was due to most vendors not being open. All the food options I wanted were closed. Bummer We had amazing seats. There's no bad seat in the space. It's a pretty intimate space. We were to the side of the stage, just by the curtains that were partitioned to block off the area not being used. The acoustics was amazing. The orchestra that played with the band sounded powerful. The band sounded ethereal. It was my fourth time seeing them and they still hit like it's the first time. Let me not forget to mention the most important thing which is how amazing the staff was. What I remember most from this visit was how great the service in the city was. Every person we came in contact with was so friendly. They were all smiles, always said thank you like they were glad to see you there. The level of customer service I always appreciate when I'm out and about. Talk about teamwork cos the whole night was seamless. The entrance was smooth because they guided you and were there to assist if you had issues scanning your eticket. Security was a breeze for us since we had no bags. I'll definitely be checking their calendar since I stay down to clown when it comes to music. I'm for sure coming back.

The main reason we are in Portland was for Ben's birthday weekend. Part of a birthday trip for him is always seen some sort of sporting event. Basketball is the only professional sports team that ben watches that Portland has. He wants to see all arenas and stadiums, etc but if he has his wish, it would to see them while playing his favorite sports teams, which would be anything Denver though he does settle on a first visit with my teams (Detroit) or Tampa Bay (other than the Bucs, LOL). We had a great time during the game which we were winning until the end of the second half, where people began to sneak down to lower seats and they had small children with them that just continually screamed non-stop. Normally this would not bother us as everyone has a right to watch the game, however, when you do not pay for those seats, it is very rude to disrupt others around you by your behavior or those you are with. We paid our hard earned money to be able to enjoy the game and so should everyone else. Of course, because we were in the visiting team colors, we were in the wrong when voicing our dismay. Riiiiiight. But hey, our team won so guess we still got the last laugh.

I've attended a handful of events here over the past 8 years. My first concert experience here was with Bruno Mars back in 2017 and that was epic. The venue was easy to navigate and relatively chill. The food and drinks options were good and I felt like the prices were reasonable or what you'd expect. The seats were comfortable and I thought the sound quality of the concert was great. And I mean it was Bruno Mars so of course the concert itself was incredible. I've also been lucky enough to attend a few events in one of the suites courtesy of my husband's employer which is such a treat. Being able to access the venue from the suite entrance, literally bypassing all crowds is so convenient. I do wish that the venue itself was newer and more updated just in general, but the ease of access is great and the seats are comfortable. Getting to see Jo Koy live was a real treat!

I've been to the party suite twice and hosted a large meeting in the Rose Room. The staff is friendly, accommodating and easy to work with. The Rose room is spacious and the layout is impressive. It's set up perfectly for catering needs and has a bar in the back. The AV is slick and the room is spacious, ample room for guest to mingle. The party suite is perfect for mingling or enjoying an event - great view and a good layout with the bar in the middle . Two restrooms and plenty of coat storage is located inside the suite so you don't have to leave. The staff is accommodating and friendly and the food is impressively flavorful, much better than other stadium suites. My concern is there are no controls to prevent uninvited guests from entering the suite once you're on that level. Both times, we've had strangers enter the suite and attempt to partake in our offerings. If you're not paying attention, this can easily slip. You have to scan your ticket at each suite door in other stadiums and now I understand why. If you get a chance to try the rolling dessert cart, it's pricey but super fun!

This is a great venue. It worked well for the rock concert I was in town for. There was a separate entrance for general admission (south entrance) for our concert (I'm not certain that's a regular thing). Staff worked the ticket holder line to pull us out and get us to that line. We were given wrist bands to show we were allowed in the area. Now some people may look at this as keeping us out of assigned seats, but to us, it kept seat holders from being on the floor! Since it was our first visit to Moda, when leaving we needed help finding the right area for rideshare vehicles. Here's where Moda staff failed. Four people sent us three different ways. It was not helpful. Plus, at least two had no idea. They should be educated about things like this.

The seats could be better. There's barely any space between you and your neighbor. Someone was basically exhaling their beer breath behind and on me. But overall did all for Hans. Still enjoyed the concert. Nice view.

The venue can be a little chaotic and disorganized for certain events. I once sat in a seat that had a massive curtain covering it. Thankfully, I ended up moving. There are tons of food options, but expect to spend money. Otherwise, this venue was great!

This was the second concert I have seen in this arena, once again I am impressed. The acoustics and view are amazing.

This event center was really cool. Super clean and designed very well. It is one big circle so you don't have to end up going to wrong was just to hit a wall and walk all the way back you came. Prices were naturally crazy for food and drinks. The seats were very nice and comfortable.

My husband and son really enjoyed watching the Portland Blazers win this past Friday. The Moda Center staff were extremely courteous, and made sure our son had a great first Blazer's game was memorable. My son has already asked if he can attend another game soon, thanks Moda Center for a fun, and safe family night!

What are the concerts like here?

Yes, you need floor area for concerts. The seats -- especially 200 and 300 -- are at a weird angle. You can't sit with your feet flat because the seats are too close in front of you. Means that you kind of have to sit at an angle or keep your feet… Read more

The Trailblazers were playing Boston (and actually won) just before the puck drop, so the Max was pretty packed. Still better than driving by a long shot. The game was really fun...the first period had two fights...no I am serious, the refs actually let them fight. Usually they come in and break the kids up, but they let them fight. This made my son really happy...he was hoping for this. I gotta admit I was psyked too. I was yelling along with him. The game was really fun. Sadly, the Tri-Cities team tied the game 4-4 with 2.1 seconds left in the 3rd period. Then they pretended like they were playing soccer and rocked the 'Hawks to sleep before blowing by them and scoring the winning goal in Overtime. Oh well. Still super fun and worth the time with my son. #GoHawks

It's an old coliseum (to me it's just an "arena"), but a landmark for Portland. Prior to watching…read morea couple of Portland Winterhawks games, I looked up this venue and saw that it's also registered in the National Register of Historic Places, interesting. This arena opened up in 1960, and at the time was considered the largest civic and technological structure in the Pacific Northwest. Later was renamed Veterans Memorial Coliseum in 2011 as a tribute to the veterans of WWII and the Korean War. Fast-forward to today... ~ Parking ~ Parking within the Rose Quarter, shared with the Moda Center, is my recommendation as to 'where to park'. There are two main parking structures, and both require a pre-paid parking QR code upon entry. If you don't have a QR then good luck turning around. Some hotels nearby have designated parking spaces available as well. Which isn't be too bad of a walk, depending. Unfortunately, both the parking structures and hotels use the ParkWhiz app which can be kinda shady. But my recommendation is to still buy pre-paid parking at the Rose Quarter, even though it can cost between $30-$50. Yeah, ridiculous! And purchase asap as spaces run out fast. There's always street parking too, but that's at your own risk. ~ Venue ~ Yes it definitely seems "dated" here, but I expected it. Well maintained for the most part, I'd say. The outside grounds are still getting a facelift, but inside the place wasn't so bad. No issues getting through Security screening. They even have a 'Toyota priority line' if you own a Toyota. Just show them your keys. The concessions are expensive as usual, but again to me, it's just expected with practically every sporting venue everywhere. Along the windows, there were other food vendors like BBQ, popcorn/candy, and Dippin' Dots. I usually do the venue concessions as they serve local beers. ~ Seating / View ~ For the games, I purchased in Section 16 Row L (blue seats) and Section 61 Row B (red seats). The blue seats in the lower section felt newer and OK. Enough cushioning. The red seats were in the higher section, so I think they were a bit older and slightly more crammed then the blue seats. The ushers were helpful, and the rows had big lettering so you can't miss your row. And I feel the seats were angled nicely too. It's true as some yelpers stated, that 'there really isn't a bad seat in the house'. Except maybe the front row of the higher sections. ~ Restroom ~ Again, this place was built in the 60s, so yeah, it's old and crammed in there. The best time to do your thing is during the game unfortunately as there's less traffic. Always long lines between periods or intermission. Honestly, the place really earns between 3 and 4-stars, but there weren't enough annoying negatives for me. The venue is tolerable as I've been to worse. Prices have gone up big-time! So, I might come back only if I feel prices are fair for a particular event. But overall, it's an oldie but goodie! One last note: I'll upgrade this review to a fifth star, only it their website would highlight: The 1992 Tournament of the Americas was held here, it's the qualifying tournament for the Olympic basketball team which premiered the "Dream Team" playing in their first game together!

As a big NBA fan in the late 90s and into the 2010s, and as a Georgia Tech alum and longtime men's basketball season ticket holder, never in a million years would I have guessed Damon Stoudamire - of all people - would be one of Tech's head coaches. That was a connection I would have never made. I always saw Damon as a Portland/Pacific NW/NBA kind of guy, *not* an ACC men's basketball coach. I told Damon that when I met him, back in 2024, and he listed a few connections to Atlanta that included his sons. I knew he was well-connected in the basketball world and I could see why Tech's then-athletic director J Batt hired him. Damon can now add ACC head men's basketball coach to his journeyman resume. Also, Damon hired Bonzi Wells to be on his staff. I watched those two up close and in person at about 50 home games over the last three years (2023-2026). Anyway, this review is supposed to be about the Blazers. When I think of the Blazers, I think of Damon, Bonzi, and the "Jail Blazers." I first saw them in person during the 1999-2000 season at Staples Center, Portland at the Los Angeles Clippers. I liked that team and wanted them to win the 2000 NBA championship. It's too bad they didn't because they got so close. I highly recommend watching the 2026 Netflix documentary "Untold: Jail Blazers." It features Damon, Bonzi, and Rasheed Wallace. It's very entertaining to hear their first-hand accounts of the Jail Blazers era. I grew to really like and respect Damon and was sad to see him go. As a diehard Tim Duncan-era Spurs fan, I thought Tiago Splitter did a nice job as interim coach of the Blazers this season.
