We happened upon this place when looking for a place to grab food. There are so many options for toppings that it can be a bit overwhelming. If you order online you have time to look and decide. We placed our order online which was convenient. The pizza was tasty and the toppings were not skimpy. If you order ahead give them an extra five minutes or so. First of all, the pizza was delicious! I loved that additional toppings are all one price. Everybody was really really friendly and I love the outdoor seating. They mistakenly got some meat on my daughters pizza and she is a vegetarian. They made her a new one right away and also gave us a gift certificate which was really really nice. We only constructive feedback I have is to please ensure that ingredients don't mix because that is super important to somebody who doesn't eat meat or may have food allergies. Most of the time the store is extremely understaffed. They will put a sign on the door that they're closing early or when you arrive they'll state online orders only. I was in the area, unfortunately to visit the Urgent Care, but I felt a little better when I noticed a MOD Pizza within walking distance. I already knew what I wanted after I left the doctor's office. My babe and I dined in on Monday about 1 pm maybe later. Well when we arrived only a hand full of patrons were dining in, but once we placed our order at least four other parties came in. This MOD is pretty much set up like the others, the employees moved the line without hesitation. Even though items are made to order, I must say they are great with keeping the line moving. I ordered a salad and a mini MOD. Both were delicious! I am a fan of this style of pizza. I have said it once and I will continue to say, this pizza tastes so light. You can eat a whole mini pizza and feel good. No 'itis' or feeling stuffed afterwards. I recommend you check out this place. I've been a fan of MOD Pizza because of their unlimited and customizable toppings. That's why I was very excited when I found out that they opened a new restaurant in College Drive, Suffolk. I ordered a customized Fred, which is a similar to a Hawaiian pizza. I also added bell peppers, rosemary, and spicy chicken sausage. My pizza came out very soggy. After one slice, I do not feel like eating it anymore. I came in on a Sunday and there was a long line when I came in. Their service was extremely slow. It seems like they weren't prepared for the rush. When I go to a different MOD location, they will ask me if I wanted to add certain ingredients even though I ordered from their classic menu pizza. However on this location, I've been trying to get the server's attention so she can add the toppings that wasn't on the Fred pizza. This made me feel like my pizza wasn't customizable. As much as I wanted to like this location, it was kind of hard because I've been to other MOD locations that were definitely better. I might come back again to give this place another try, but it will not be anytime soon. read more

Great new addition to the Hampton Roads / Coastal VA pizza scene! Welcome to Suffolk Mod Pizza! The interior is very nice, see the photos added. You can build your own pizza or order classics. They also have salads and a selection of beer and wine. It's very similar to the Subway approach where you select the toppings you want as you go down the line. They have some great topping choices, including things like roasted garlic. Then, when your pizza comes out of the oven, they can put finishing toppings like basil pesto or hot honey. The crust is excellent (crunchy) and they have three different options. Far better than Other pizza places here, except for Baker's Crust. This location just opened up by my job and I have been twice so far. I have been to this type of place before in DC called &pizza but this was my first time checking out MOD pizza in particular. Pretty simple when you walk in. There is a sign that tells you what the pre formulated pizzas are or you can order your own customized option. I opted for the Donatella both times and added meats to it. Its sort of like Chipotle or Subway for pizza. Just allocate a few more minutes for it because once they add the ingredients they bake it fresh in front of you. Can get a bit crowded at lunch time. Once your pizza comes out they ask if you want a dipping sauce to go along with it. Both times I have got the ranch. They also have many table toppings to include garlic powder. Its a peeve of mine if a pizza shop doesnt have garlic powder so thats a plus. However you can get extra garlic as a topping on your pizza which is great. I would also say to get extra cheeses because the are a little skimpy with the mozzarella. They also have a milkshake machine that I have not tired yet but I will be back. read more

2/22/23: This is by far one of the worst restaurant/fast food experiences I've ever had, so much so that we didn't even end up eating our pizzas. Everything was filthy, the man handling our food chose when to wear gloves as he was putting pizzas into the oven. When he did have gloves on, he would go from the oven to the register to handle customers cash without taking them off. The kitchen area was a disaster, cheese and toppings all over the place. Used cooking utensils all over the place and not in containers. Some of these same cooking utensils were being used to scrape the food off the ledge of the oven which he would then turn around and scrape any remaining crumbs or melted cheese off with the edge on the butcher's block counter top. The dough brought out from the kitchen was not covered and the person that brought it out had the two containers stacked on top of one another and pressed against his chest. The tin pans that the pizzas go on in the oven were being tossed into a container that has lived long past it's intended food grade life, I even questioned it was food grade or the last time it was cleaned while we waited for our pizzas. I would urge everyone that wants to eat here to reconsider or try another location. read more

Love Mod Pizza! I became a fan when I was working in Maryland a few years ago. I was excited to learn one was coming locally. I dropped in to pick up a few pies this evening. The front line folks are still learning the ropes (looking at the boards for the recipes) but the line moved well. They were very concerned I was was happy with the pies before they were sent to bake. I made sure to share I was a fan of Mod and they were doing great (and they did). I had hoped the ABC license was finalized so I could have a beer while I waited. No big deal as I know that takes time. I ordered 2 Mad Dogs and a build your own to go. They were all exactly as ordered and tasted great. I love all styles of pizza. Since Mod is now close by it will be my first choice for a reasonably priced pie with great taste. read more
