Really, it's better than aspirin. However, I was told by many people "Good luck, you won't find that here for a decent price". At the time, I swallowed defeat and accepted that fact, but I have recently had a change of heart. I decided I am going to go out for brunch OR coffee and cake every weekend for the next few months to discover some great little spots around the city. Up first to bat....Tagträumer! Sweet and Simple are really the only words that come to mind to describe this cafe. I came here for brunch this past Saturday at around 11:00 and it was fairly busy, but my friend and I were able to find a comfortable table. The decor is an interesting mix. There are paintings from a local artist on the wall that are also for sale if you absolutely must have one :) Each table has a little vase with flowers also....cute touch I think. There are magazines and newspapers free for you to read as well. And I MUST add that this seems to be a very kid/baby friendly place. There were, at least, two high chairs available for customers, children's books and crayons for the older kids, and also a diaper changing station in the bathroom. Our server (I'm also going to assume she is the owner) was pleasant. We were there for over two hours and she did not simply ignore us after our meal....she continued to check on us to make sure we didn't want anything else. The food, however, was average at best. I had a latte macchiato, 1 cooked egg, 1 chocolate croissant, half of a bread basket, and half of a cheese plate....don't judge, I was really hungry. All of that came to about 11 € which seems fair for the amount, but it really was just an okay meal. I think if I just happened to be in the area, I would come here for brunch or a slice of cake again, but I don't think I would go out of my way to visit Tagträumer.

They don't serve brunch as indicated in other reviews, just panini and soup of the day.read more

"Burning the ground I break from the crowd I'm on the hunt…read moreI'm after you I smell like I sound. I'm lost and I'm found And I'm hungry like the wolf ..." When confronted with a deeply perplexing conundrum, I often resort to the wisdom offered by the great social commentators, Duran Duran. For example, when squeezing and scampering my way through Marienplatz and its throngs of tourists like a squirrel trying to cross Times Square, I sometimes catch a whiff of the edibles...and then I'm hungry. Like the wolf. A squirrel wolf, if you like. But who wants to pay €4 for a coffee and €7 for a sandwich? Get your Hände hoch if you said, "ICH NICHT!" because nor do I. Squirrel wolves often forget to go to the ATM, so we much prefer, say, €3 for a sandwich, and for that reason do I so love coming to this little place. Also, because their Bavarian accents are charming. And if you order one of their nifty salads to eat there, they will put it into a huge bowl with real utensils for you to eat at one of their standing tables. And because after 6PM, most everything is half off (excepting salads, beers, juices, and candy bars). So if your "Mouth is alive with juices like wine," I recommend you bring your hunger to the Wolf.

As is usual with Munich service, we had to flag down a server to take our orders (just beer and wine) and then do the same to pay the check later. It's a nice restaurant with comfortable seating. They have some windows that open nice and wide to get the fresh air in. [Review 12043 overall, 1826 of 2019.]
