Back in 2017 I was at caremount urgent care and my blood pressure was so high that they insisted I take an ambulance to Vassar which was 1 block away. They told me they were in network with my insurance company. They billed my insurance company $1400. They paid them over $400 and told me my portion was $581 which I sent them. Mu insurance company said they cannot charge me anymore so I sent them all that info. Fast forward almost 2 years and now they say I owe them $2900 and they are trying to garnish my bank account. On their bill they have a spot to change/update insurance information, when I wanted to show my information I was told I DID NOT need it. Five days later I get a bill for an assessment $305!!! Now I have to find out if the VA will pay some of this. This bill is about 30% of my social security. Thanks but that will be the LAST time I call 911. I'd rather die in my apartment!!! read more

I had an incident this past summer where Mobile Life Support Services (MLSS) was dispatched. When receiving the bill it was noted that my Insurance provider refused to pay. After investigating it was because I had not yet met my high deductible. My concern was I felt the services were miscoded and the bill was to high. I've spoken with them to contest the bill as well as sending a hard copy letter and they refuse to recognize my concern nor will they work with me to adjust the bill. It was also learned that MLSS Is an "out of plan" service provider. really?!?!?!? So in an emergency when calling for an ambulance you need to ask if they are "in plan" or not? If you have a choice I would not use MLSS. read more

In 2012 I was taken to the Hospital (4.9 miles) for chest pains. Back then I was under a lot of stress, I had just started working after being out of work (laid-off) for over two years and the bills were piled high, and I was three months behind on my mortgage (working with the bank). The insurance company sent the check directly to me because MLS does not take insurance. I took this check and paid the electric bill which was past due, I was on a payment plan but that winter was bad and my bill was over $1,000.00. I called them and explained the situation, said to them that I still had a minor in the house, that it's the middle of winter and I had a final notice, I told them that I was working and on a payment plan with everyone and offered to pay them off in eight months, they refused. I contacted them several times and got the same answer and sent me to a collector. I offered to settle, they refused and took me to court and said they served me, that is a lie, I was never served and the court date came and went and I did not find out about it until after the fact. I contacted them via e-mail and offered them $900.00 but they did not want to accept because they were now charging me $840.00 for the ambulance and an additional $400.00 for interest and fees. In the end, they garnished my paycheck for a total of over $2,000.00. The administrative/accounting office of Mobile Life have no compassion, they are horrible, they don't care and will not work with you, on the contrary, they will not negotiate and will inflate the amount you owe them. read more

They failed to bill insurance after an accident that was taken fault by another driver. They took (after 30 days of active billing) the victim to court, and sued the victim over the charges. Ambulance company failed to note the paperwork from the hospital who was responsible for the charges (the fault drivers insurance) and is refusing to drop the charges DESPITE having been paid by the insurance company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They DO NOT ACCEPT ANY INSURANCE. After agreeing to accept my insurance, they billed me for the difference. I called them. MLSS told me that they are out of network and they have no record of agreeing to accept my insurance. MVP, my insurance company, covered 70% of the bill .. the prevailing rate. Now MLSS tells me that if I dont pay the difference, they will send me to collections, even after my insurance MVP called them to accept the prevailing rate. What crooks. I would have never used them if I had known this. read more
