For visitors to BH, Mercado Central should be very high on your 'to-experience' list. Prepare…read moreyourself before you go; this place is hectic and loud and in the maze of alleyways it's easy to get a bit lost.

There are also a few bar(zinho)s and restaurants, including one that participates in, and has won, the annual comida de boteco (bar food) festival.
