The parking lot is consistently busy, so finding a spot can be a hit or miss. Ambiance/Environment: The studio is located inside the AR Gallery. Once you enter the AR Gallery, you'll see the studio on your right. They have an extremely small space with two rooms. One room features white walls, and the other room features colored backgrounds. There's many props from headbands and hats to chairs and stools and more! Some props can use a cleaning, but you can't really see it in the photos. Service: I decided to do a walk-in, so I didn't book an appointment or prepay online. They only take walk-ins starting at 11:30. They're not busy on weekdays but busier during the weekends. I completely forgot his name, but the worker that checked me in was nice, efficient, and knowledgable about the offerings. They provide a large screen with gridlines, lighting, and a small remote. They'll give you a timer, so you'll know exactly how much time you have left during your session. Studio Session & Photos: I chose the 5 minute session with the colored background. You'd choose two colors out of five options. Since I chose the colored walls, let the worker know when you're ready to switch colors. They'll pause the timer, switch the background, and continue the timer. The small remote is easy to hide in the photos. The lighting is perfect, and the photos came out amazing! Pricing: All details and prices are on their website. It's easy to book an appointment online. Since my birthday was three days away, the worker gave me a 10% discount. For some reason things just didn't align well with my baby's naps and feedings that day so it was hard to manage a tired baby but they managed to get real good photos of my baby and the family. My baby didn't really smile much yet but they were still able to get smiling pictures of her too. Very professional and works so hard to get the best pictures. I was truly grateful for this studio and loved my experience. Also the picture quality was amazing!! The backgrounds were cute and the clothes were so adorable too!! The price point is reasonable and I'd say cheaper than some others for a better quality. I think the turn around time to receive the photos were faster than we expected too. Truly appreciate working with this photographer. He really seems to love what he does and we are blessed with these amazing photos!!! Couple things to note/tips: 1. Go when your baby can smile. Yes after their neck strength gets way better too. My baby still can't really smile yet and she's 4 months old. I really wanted to push having 100 day photos when she was 3.5 months old so neck strength and expressions aren't expected. 1a. Also go when your baby is well fed, pooped, rested, good condition, etc. makes a world of difference. 2. They give you a looooot of photos to choose from. Be prepared to be pleasantly overwhelmed with photos. If you get decision fatigue then ask your spouse to help. Cause I loved getting the full gamut of photos. 3. They have a wardrobe but if you want your baby to wear something specific, bring it! Their wardrobe is pretty cute tho and fits with their backgrounds. 4. They have set backgrounds to choose from in their studio. The backgrounds are really cute but if you're looking for something specific, unique, tailored to you, the studio setting might not be for you. But tbh all 100 day, dohl, event photos basically look the same...so I would think it's odd to expect something different. I've seen tons of beach engagement pics. Tons of dohl pics with the same backgrounds and balloons. So why complain about a studio pic with similar styles and backgrounds or lack of variety? You're already the unique and different baby/family. So there's that. 5. Bring a toy or something that can get your baby's attention. I realized belatedly my baby likes to stare at herself in the mirror. She also likes her little fox doll. If your baby has a preference for a toy, perhaps being prepared like that will help with the experience! 6. Match your clothes with your family and partner beforehand. Clothes, accessories and shoes too so they look cohesive in the photos! Belatedly realized my husband's shoes didn't match any of our family's and my son's also seemed a little too bright. Oh well. Kathleen's assistant Adriana was very helpful in getting us into the studio within a couple of days from the time I contacted them. Her packages and pricing are very fair compared to other studios I had contacted. We decided to do the "Classic" package which allows for both newborn photos and family photos. The booking experience was very straightforward. She provides clear instructions for the process on the photography day. The whole experience on the day of the photos went very smoothly and she was very good at handling baby and making sure he was asleep for the pictures. She also took advantage of his awake moments and captured some really cute awake photos as well. She has a separate room for the newborn photos and a separate room for family photos which I appreciated so that the newborn room always stays clean (she doesn't allow shoes there either) and baby has a quiet/calm space for the photos. The 1300th review goes to Brianna Caster & Co. Photography/Shy Hearts Studios. They very recently photographed my daughter's wedding, and the photographs, and the quality of the photographs, are truly stunning. Much like Jill W's review, I am the mother of the bride, and even further like Jill W, my daughter and her now husband reside in New York but got married out here (at Sierra La Verne specifically, another Wedgewood Wedding property). To say that it was a bit of a challenge to coordinate all this long distance is an understatement, but thanks to a great deal of perseverance, determination and people who take pride in their wedding-related profession(s), it all came together beautifully. I haven't figured out if Brianna Caster has moved on from Shy Hearts to her own photography studio, or if she still goes by Shy Hearts, but my daughter initially consulted her directly (through Wedgewood) and spoke to her at length over numerous conversations. My daughter was so excited by how thorough Brianna appeared, not to mention, they spoke the same language as to what the photographic goals were. My daughter even stated to me, "She totally understands what I want" and even felt an emotional connection with her. A few months after she booked the wedding date, however, my daughter was informed by Brianna that she would be unable to photograph my daughter's wedding due to the impending birth of her first child. My daughter was devastated. However, Brianna spoke to her and promised her replacement would be just as caring and thoughtful and in tune with what my daughter's goals were. She said "Cara" is just as talented. My daughter reluctantly said okay, and she and her fiance' took their chances by having their engagement photo shoot with Cara to see how it'd go. My daughter and (now) son-in-law chose a variety of those photos, put them in an album, which then became their wedding day sign-in book, so I guess she liked them!! Then, fast forward another 4 months, Cara reappeared for their wedding, along with another photographer, "Rachel," and the rest is history. EVERYTHING TURNED OUT BEAUTIFULLY. For the 1,004 photos that were received...... and ONLY THREE WEEKS after the wedding I'll add, the styling, the backdrops, the quality, the posed shots, the unposed / natural shots, and the colors in these photos turned out gorgeous. They are as close to PERFECT as one could get. I am having a huge problem whittling the picture choices down..... I'm now with less than 500 that I can't live without. Can I make an album with just less than 500? :-) I think I need to whittle it down a bit more, but howwwwwwwwwww? They are all just so wonderful. So, the bottom line is this.... No matter where you live, if you get married in Southern California, use THIS photography studio. While Brianna is the leader of the pack, you can trust whichever photographer she sends you. They really know what they are doing, and for something as important as wedding photos, you will WANT what this studio produces. Simply gorgeous. Absolutely beautiful. Sheer perfection.
