This restaurant was even better than I thought and I already saw reviews on Yelp. Food and customer service was phenomenal! Tempura was light and crispy, miso soup was not salty nor bland and sashimi was super fresh. Salmon, tuna, hamachi, surf clams and uni were delicious! The quality of fish exceeded my expectations. Got the bento box also and some rolls. Everything was sooo good. Next time will have to tip the sushi chefs as well for their attentive excellent skills. I had the opportunity to stop by tonight for dinner and was happy I did. It's a great local place that's been around Watsonville for a quite a long time. It's been passed down from father to son and a family run business. Locations in a pretty good spot with plenty of parking and seating in the main dining room and also outback. Very cool spot. I had the Bento box for dinner which included the beef teriyaki and tempura mix. The beef phase was I believe a ribeye cut which was so tender and juicy. The teriyaki sauce was pretty good as well. I also had the tempura which was fried to perfection. It was a good mix of vegetables and shrimp. My cousin's ordering a bunch of role and some sushi. He ordered the spider roll, some sashimi and a variety of other rolls. Everything was pretty tasty. If in the area I would try this place again. read more

My friends and I were craving sushi after a long day stuck in traffic and stumbled upon Miyuki. The restaurant is super cute and has a homie feel. We got there right when it opened and were told to sit wherever we wanted. We sat outside, and our waiter quickly got our drinks in. We were confused about how the menu worked, so we figured out how to order because our waiter was nowhere to be found after bringing our drinks out. We hoped the menu had pictures of the sushi rolls for reference, but no images. Also, we were hoping they had more specialty rolls. We all felt like they had a lot of rolls, but they were basic, and their spicy rolls were not spicy. Our visit was okay overall; we would suggest having pictures/visuals for reference. read more

The food and service were excellent. We came in around 530pm on a Sunday night. The place was packed but we were seated right away at one of the last few tables. The restaurant is clean and tidy and our menus only took a few minutes to come out (as did our drinks). We came in for the sushi and were happy to see some original ingredients used for their rolls. Once we placed our order the rolls and sashimi came out within about 10 minutes. The seafood is fresh and the presentation was very pretty! We loved everything and would return again! Just a thing to note, the neighborhood is not as fancy as the nearby seaside towns but we felt comfortable and were able to find parking pretty quickly. read more

A friend of mine worked for Western Farm Service. When he took his client farmers out to lunch 90% of them wanted to come here and my first visit showed me why. Lunch today was two Oyster Shooters, an order of Oysters On the Half-Shell and a Seafood Salad. When you get Sushi here everything is cut nicely and trimmed to perfection. Where do the trimmings go? Order the Seafood Salad to find out- you get bites of everything they are serving that day, it's a absolute delight. The Oyster Shooters are magic in a shot glass and the oysters are extremely fresh and briny. They have a nice selection of local beers to top things off. Great place! read more

For 32 years since we moved to Norcal, we drove past this unassuming Japanese restaurant in an odd place as we passed through Watsonville, never stopping to try it. I often thought about it, though. Finally this year we purposely drove over the hill from Gilroy, where we live, and had dinner. It was very busy inside and the wait was fairly short. They take your number and you can relax in your car while you wait. All open tables and obviously popular with locals. Many customers seemed to know the staff and each other. I like places like that. We ended up meeting I believe the owner, who told me their history going back to the 70s and how their menu has not changed since then. The food was all great. We had a bit of everything. Looking forward to going back on a regular basis. I even bought a t shirt. read more

Before coming onto my current team, Miyuki was apparently a regular spot they had on rotation for lunch/dinner orders. Since joining, I've tried it a few times, most recently choosing a custom Bento box consisting of chicken teriyaki and gyoza. A custom order with 2 items is rather pricy, at $18.50 a box, but also comes with a side of salad, rice, and miso soup. The food itself was ok, but nothing to rave about. And definitely not very memorable. Can't speak of the service as we always order take-out. An ok choice for being in Watsonville, but there certainly are better options around. read more

While visiting Watsonville, my wife and I found this place, and decided to give it a try. Being that the name of the restaurant is the same as one of our best friends in Japan, I thought it would be fun to get pictures of the name and food, to share with said friend. So was the food bad or good? I don't know, because something else happened instead. We put our names on the wait list...the only ones waiting...and we were sitting out front in what looked like a waiting area by the door. About 15 minutes went by, and I noticed a group left, and a table became open. I told my wife we would probably be seated soon, but it would be outside in the back. About two minutes later, a couple came in through the back. I heard the young lady at the register area ask if it was for two, which the guy confirmed. He then asked if they could be seated out back. The young lady looked over the list, skipped us, and then instantly seated them out back...while we were also waiting like 5 feet away. I then stepped into the place and waited to be addressed...which finally happened about 5 minutes later by a different lady, who initially took our names down. Her response wasn't that they were sorry it happened, but instead was "she probably just missed your name". Like it happens often or something. She offered to see if she could seat us, but too little too late. The food my be good, or it may be bad...I don't know. I just know the service needs to improve. read more

Excellent sushi & sashimi! Brought my cousin, a chef who recently arrived from Japan. She LOVED the food. It was a hot day, so we enjoyed hiyayakko, chilled tofu, first. We ordered a variety of sushi, including vegetarian hosomaki (small rolls) ume shiso and yamagobo, the Tokyo roll, and the unusual oshizushi (pressed sushi) with unagi. All were delicious! The tempura entree was huge and very good. Great options for vegetarians, including a vegetable gyoza potsticker that was pan fried (unlike the deep fried imposter found at other so-called Japanese restaurants). Most dinners come with a nice side salad with Japanese dressing and miso soup. Service was attentive despite the very full house. The ambiance is friendly and hyperlocal. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor dining but is VERY popular with locals and families so I recommend calling for a reservation if you are going to be more than 4 people. Small private parking lot out back. Wonderful restaurant, obviously beloved by the community. Highly recommend for authentic Japanese food! read more

I ordered the lunch bento box with teriyaki chicken, sesame chicken and tempura. The food was delicious! The portions are perfectly portions, not too much but you also don't leave hungry. They have a variety of sushi rolls you can order from. I chose the lunch special because it had what I was craving. Parking can be tough around lunch time, we came a little after the crowd had left at 1:30 and we parked in the back of the building. The restaurant is a little small for about 60 people so if your coming around lunch time try and get here early. Service was great! Definitely a great place to eat! read more

Came here on a Wednesday night at 7pm with my husband. Parking area is quant - 3 parking spots in the front and about 8 spots in the back. Once we walked in (bc we parked in the back area) we were on the restaurant floor and greeted by the server who sat us down immediately. She happened to also be our server and she was nice and friendly. There's 9 four top tables and one seat at the sushi bar. It's quant inside but comfortable. However, if you sit next to a loud table you will feel part of the conversation or accidentally eavesdropping - which is what we experienced. There's a wall of mirrors to make the place look and feel more open, 2 restrooms available, and they have cute restaurant merchandise to buy. We ordered the sushi combo, tempura udon, tataki, and chicken age (aka chicken karage). We shared everything and felt content with that amount of food. Our bill came out to be $68 with $12 tip so $80 total for that amount of food. I feel like our food experience could have been better if we just ordered the tempura udon and tataki. I would stick to ordering rolls and not sushi/sashimi. So based off of food and service I give them a 3 star rating. read more
