Before booking, we went to a tasting and got to try a bunch of drinks to pick the perfect menu, which was such a fun experience. They also had a mixed shot called Mexican Candy, and it was a total crowd favorite, highly recommend adding that! Liz gave us an estimate for how much alcohol to buy, and after a few tweaks based on our guests, it ended up being spot-on. We barely had anything left by the end of the night, which was perfect. We had an amazing experience with Mixing in Action and can't say enough great things about Liz and Joel, the owners and bartenders for our wedding. After working with them for my bridal shower in August (shoutout to Caleb!), it was an easy decision to hire them again for our wedding. MIA Bartending is awesome! They came recommended to us by our venue and trust us when we say we shopped around for bartenders - they are the ones that offer the most for the absolute best price. As we planned our wedding from abroad, we sent our cousins to the cocktail tasting for us and they loved their experience, saying that Liz was super sweet (which we also experienced during our email communication). Be warned that they are in demand so their availability for tastings and weddings fills up quick and is difficult to manage without an established scheduling system. Liz's team is incredibly self sufficient and requires very little prep with the bride and groom, which was a relief after all the other coordination. They provide a shopping list in advance, although our guests didn't end up drinking nearly as much as the estimated amounts. Joel and Oscar worked our wedding and had drinks at the ready, even though we had last minute requests of them like uncorking bottles on the dinner tables and filling the water glasses. I used this wonderful team for my wedding and I could not have been happier. They literally brought my wedding to live and all the guests commented to me about how kind and efficient they were. They were by far the cheapest option for us, but never once did I feel like they were skimping on service. Several times when I called them prior to the event with questions, they answered very quickly and spent as much time with me as I needed. No questions was stupid! we came across Mixing In Action at an open house our venue was throwing where you could meet their vendors. there were two bartending businesses in attendance and the first one we tried wasn't so great. drinks were weak and the staff was unwelcoming. it bummed us out because on paper this business sounded great (we had did some research before) but low and behold stashed away in a quiet corner of the venue was MIA. we walked over and tried some samples and my god were they delicious. not to mention the bartenders were kind and knowledgeable. we thought they'd definitely be out of our price range but we were so wrong (thankfully). that day we went home and immediately reached out to them to lock em in. from start to finish they were amazing and so communicative. we hired MIA for our november 2024 wedding and they made everything incredibly easy. I've been lucky enough to travel extensively domestically, and as a bonafide LA native chef I can honestly say Joel makes one of the best old fashions I've ever had... and they're my jam so I've had about 7 million probably . My wife's "hers" drink was the sunflower drink and it was the wedding drink favorite, rightfully so because it was incredible!!! Liz and her crew were so great! The signature cocktails they had were all amazing, but the jalapeno mango margarita was my absolute favorite, the tajin rim was *chef's kiss*. All communication with Liz and her team was very easy and professional, and the cocktail sampling before the event was a breeze.
