Family fun and worry/sunburnt-free!…read more These days I'm all about finding that perfect balance between work, spending time with loved ones, while enjoying activities. That's why I'm obsessed with this new find in the Southwest community! This neighborhood community center has cool activities like two indoor pools. One is designated for laps- 9 feet deep and the other includes a wading pool with slide, up to 4 ft and 6 inches at the deepest. I also love that there is a shower and lockers open for use so you can clean up before heading to the pool. The kids seem to absolutely love it - there are tons of other families with little ones. Open pool time is ~ 2-4pm, go early so you can get in. There's a capacity limit, our visit happened to be 75. If want to make it, BE THERE EARLY. Can not stress this enough. It is not the staff's fault if you can not get in. There are standards for a reason. You do not want to be cooped up in a space where it can not accommodate for more than what's expected. You also want to keep in mind that there are lifeguards to look out for everyone's safety and well being, so please be mindful of that as well! There are also other parts of the center to enjoy, such as an indoor basketball gym, rollerskating sessions, aqua aerobics, gym, and even dancing. It's the perfect blend of family-friendly fun and adult-approved relaxation. If you're looking for a place with a strong sense of community, stunning scenery, and a pool that's basically its own mini-vacation destination, then this is your spot! Totally recommend it! P.S. If you ever see me poolside with a noodle in hand, say hi! I'm learning how to swim - and it's fun to make some friends while we're at it!

Also, this is aimed at mom's who want to get their "body back" post baby, and I'm not a mom, and I don't intend to be. If that stuff bugs, you, think about getting over it. My butt and my closet and I am so happy I did. I've done this twice now, and I've lost almost 20 pounds, but I'm telling you I look like I've lost more. Eveyone else is telling me, too, and I've gone down at least 4 sizes. Trisha is really key in making this work. She's encouraging, she's sweet, and she's not a mean drill seargent, but you will want to do what she says, even though these workouts are really hard. And it's more than the workouts, you also track your food and turn it in every week, and do stuff to get to the root of what you need in order to make changes, you all work together. Don't worry, this is not about you being good or bad...it's just about helping you get where you want to be, and you'll get out what you put into it - you might even find yourself putting more into it than you thought you would! And liking it! This can help you make permanent changes. You are not too out of shape for this. Trisha will meet you where you are. It's totally worth it.

Trisha is a motivating and skilled instructor, both in exercise as well as nutrition. She keeps the work out fun but incredibly challenging. I have never worked so hard and never felt so good. Getting up in the dark to go work out feels like a drag when my alarm first goes off, but by the time I join this wonderful group of women I feel pumped and full of energy. I feel even better once the workout is over, knowing I have worked so hard and accomplished physical and mental feats I never thought possible for me. I feel like Body Back has turned me into the athlete I always wanted to be!

Everyone is happy to answer any and all questions you have. Outside of Kate's Gentle Heated Vinyasa class, I stay away from the heated classes. But I couldn't live without Kristi's Vinyasa, Dana's Gentle Vinyasa, Annie's Strong Slow Vinyasa, and Sunray's Flow and restore classes. They give me focus and make me happy :-). The studio also offers a lot of Yin classes and Sarisvati and Rachel are brilliant guides. Provided equipment is wonderful and always clean. Changing rooms are small, but clean and completely adequate. There is a shower available, and members have a place to store their Mats. There are dots to guide Mat placement in case classes are full, but they allow the space to be utilized to its fullest, and if classes aren't full, you are invited to spread out. Yes, I am a fan. However, there isn't another studio in Southwest that offers as much as Seeking Space when it comes to helping you develop a well-rounded practice.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to a world where sweat glistens a bit more elegantly. The MAC isn't just a gym it's a sanctuary of stature. You don't simply walk in... oh no, you belong here. Membership isn't a convenience, it's a declaration. Behind those doors lies a realm of polished marble, hushed conversations, and the faint, dignified clink of perfectly chilled water glasses. Inside, it's sleek immaculately so. Machines aligned like soldiers of fortune, locker rooms that whisper spa-day indulgence, and a calm that feels imported from somewhere far more exclusive than downtown Portland. This is where ambition meets tranquility... where CEOs, legacy names, and those in-the-know escape the city's chaos without ever leaving it. And the vibe? Think Nob Hill with a gym membership and a trust fund. There's no chaos, no clanging weights echoing into oblivion just refined motion, deliberate pace, and an understanding that wellness, like wealth, should be curated. So if you find yourself wandering downtown, peering in like Gatsby outside the green light, just know: this isn't merely a place to work out. It's a lifestyle one you don't stumble into... you ascend into. Lifestyles of the fit and the fabulous, darling.

The a la Grivois cocktail started the experience on a high note: amaro and vermouth together make for a velvety sweetness. The house green soup was a winner, I'm sure the French Onion would be also. We were there for prime rib night and their version rivals that at Clyde's: a hearty cut and full of flavor. At first glance, I was disappointment to see scalloped-type potatoes, but these were the best I've had. The warm bread and salad were above par. Great service by one of the long time waiters.

I wrote to many gyms in the area, and the fantastic owner Tony went over who they where, what they did and invited me in to see if we would be a good fit. He spent a lot of time with me looking at what I was able to do and making customized adaptations with things I had trouble with. It was so easy to say yes, and sign up on the spot. Then I met his other trainers such as Kathy and Chris who will work you, don't get me wrong, they will push you to be your best while never overdoing it and working with you to make every workout different, enjoyable, and after you are done you come out feeling so positive. I went through some medical issues, and Tony was so great accommodating me for the time I needed off, and we resumed as soon as I was ready. They are worth every penny, and I cannot express how much of a part of my complete positive life change, their company has been a vital part of. Lastly, the facilities are immaculate and private and have every bit of equipment you would need for a fantastic guided workout and overall work plan. They take your goals, and make a customized plan (that does get tougher as time goes on lol) but it is just you and your trainer, private and intimate, but the gang there are such great personalities, sometimes the banter between the team while you are getting healthy and fit, is the best part. Best choice I could have made was joining Tony Magden's Fitness Together!
