At the last moment. Perfect....what do we need....minister....check.....car and driver....check....photographer....let me defer to the soon to be wife on that one! So, wife to be does her research and gets good ground level intel and gives Amy at And How! a call. She saw her work and heard great things about her. Wednesday is the wedding day...and she was calling on MONDAY. (I wasn't lying when I said it was at the last moment). Even though Amy had a shoot booked for that day, she so kindly rearranged things a little and, BAM, we got ourselves a photographer. Wife to be had several ideas of locations, shots, and even examples of what she wanted. Amy loved all of that and there was a lot of back and forth between the two to come up with some great locations. On the big day, Amy was right on time and ready to go. We had a blast with her as we drove to a bunch of different locations throughout Nashville. She had some great ideas, and between her and my wife, we really ended up with a ton of amazing pictures. Honestly, after seeing what my wife wanted to duplicate and seeing what Amy actually shot, I thought that Amy's work was better time and time again. He had about 700 photos for us to view and they were all amazing. We were really happy with his work. He has a ton of albums in his studio for you to view. No. Joke…read more I must preface that Mindub has been a yelpy DJ/entertainment sponsor at our inaugural Yelp Helps event last November and will also be offering his DJ and also photography services again for Yelp Helps in a few weeks. I have also worked with him professionally fir Nashville Fashion Week as well. This fella is versatile! So to be fair, I won't review my experiences at those events or with our business dealings but instead on other events that he has been a part of. Ready? Let's go. Most recently, I was really impressed when Tim/Mindub set up at the Suzy Wong Garden Party that my friend Arnold and I planned. He was professional, friendly, and just always seemed to know what tune "just needed" to be played next. He does a great job of playing to the theme of events and with this being a fundraiser for the Ms. Gay America Pageant, dance music was what got the party started. Even as the requests became sillier after the drinks were a flowin', he still kept his charm and enthusiasm and is just all around a really nice guy. You have probably popped into a Mindub or DubChek photobooth too if you have been to recent event produced by the Nashville Scene... his photobooth setup is always a lot of fun and the pictures always come out great and as damning evidence on how much fun you were really having too! Most recently at the Sounds Like Summer concert series, my friends and I literally photo-bombed his booth which resulted in some of the most funny and memory enhancing pictures that I have taken in a long time. Tim and his partner both just make the experience. Lastly, he also offers a full range of photography services too.This fella may be the Jack of all trades, right? I chose to do a boudoir photo shoot for my 10th wedding anniversary (really the 11th, because…read moreeverything for our 10th was postponed due to COVID in 2020). This process was so much fun, from beginning to end! I definitely recommend inquiring about dates of availability at least 2-3 months in advance, just so you're sure you have everything ready by your deadline. It's a small, female-owned business (woohoo!), and the dedication and attention to detail they put into giving you a final product you can be proud of is well worth the time. The day of the photo shoot, I enjoyed having my makeup and hair done by a professional makeup artist. She asked if I had any inspiration photos or features I wanted to highlight, and she had TONS of high-end cosmetics in her arsenal to play with, which made me feel even fancier, LOL. Afterward, I had plenty of options in their style closet to choose from -- with plenty of sizes available for all body types! -- in addition to some of my own bra sets that I brought with me. (All of their garments are professionally dry-cleaned after each shoot; I recommend bringing your own sexy undies in different colors and cuts, and you can select bras, bustiers, stockings, etc., that compliment your pieces!) I was a bit nervous starting out, but Katrina (the photographer) really puts you at ease, and you become more confident as the session moves along. It was only the two of us in the entire space that morning after the MUA left, which also helped me. She asked what I had in mind ("subtle sexiness") before we began, and she's open to however much or little skin you're okay with showing. You never feel pushed to do anything that you're not comfortable with. Katrina has years of professional experience shooting boudoir photography, and she truly knows how to make ALL bodies look beautiful with tons of pose ideas, lighting edits, etc. I had an idea for a silhouette shot I saw on Pinterest, and she was happy to move the space around and play with the lights to achieve what I wanted. (That particular shot became my personal favorite!) She really makes sure you FEEL as gorgeous as you look, which you can see in your photos. After the session, Kara does incredible work touching up your shots beautifully and making sure you have plenty of options when you return to select your photo package. (I had more than 100 photos in hand, all professionally edited and printed ahead of time, to look through and find my favorites.) As part of my package selection, I received a gorgeous photo book, digital copies of the photos, and an 11x14 print .The print was a gift to myself that I will hang in our master bathroom to remind myself that I am a sexy woman. :) I gave the photo book to my husband on our anniversary this week, and he must have looked at it front to back at least five times in silent concentration before he put it down with a gigantic smile on his face! Boudoir photography is a FANTASTIC gift idea, not only for a significant other, but also for yourself. Ladies, our bodies are strong and soft and gorgeous exactly as they are right this very second, and you are worth being made to feel as beautiful as you are! I was so grateful for the confidence boost that came as a result of this session. I recommend Katrina, Kara, and Boudoir at the LOFT with all my heart!
